This review reinforced my satisfaction in being a subscriber. You bring a tremendous sense of personal engagement in the cars you feature for us. I felt as though you, whether you liked the car or not, connected with it to bring to us a real, from the heart, review. Oh and I loved the very, very subtle Jeremy Clarkson 'JAG' impersonation. 3 thumbs up!

Have a 2019, love it, most fun car I’ve owned, doesn’t breakdown, it turns heads, and damn it goes when you step on it. I’ve had lots of great cars including an Aston Martin DB9 I can’t state how fun this car is. My only dislike on the 2022 is the new style headlights.
I'm about to exit a 2020 f type r after having a 2017 f type r after having 3 xkr convertibles.. not sure if this is worthy of my 6th.. plus getting more expensive to lease.. in 15 years of r superchargers.. not a day gone by someone hasn't looked at the car.. I've enjoyed everyday
Possibly, but I don’t see how these particular seats could’ve been cooled since they weren’t ventilated. Maybe it’s a seat option? Seems weird considering other aggressive sport seats are both heated and cooled. Thanks for watching! 🙏🏻
@@jax1079 Yes actually! It is an option. JLR has these same seats in the F-Pace SVR SUV as well and they even have Alcantara there and are heated as well as cooled.
@@esteban75lover23 Interesting. Thanks for the info! I mean, I think for $120k they should ALL be heated and cooled, but I'm just a humble enthusiast dad. :-)
@@jax1079 No problem at all dude. Honestly, in my view you are bringing something different to the table in your videos. Not just the regular dry delivery of most reviews. Keep up the good work. I’m a fan.
I feel like this can be cross-shopped with a Porsche 718 Boxster Spyder. Those start at $98k, but they go up to around $130k. I think that would be an interesting comparison.
I see where you’re going with that since 718s can get so pricey, but I think dynamically it would be no comparison: the Porsche would be superior in pretty much every single way. The Jag would have the styling wow factor, but if it were my money… I’d probably take the Porsche. Thanks for watching! 🙏🏻
Jax, brilliant review and out takes.I had to make a decision between the 718 Boxter or the Jaaag. My head said go for lightness, handling, good size trunks, realisability , reasonable depreciation and fuel economy. My heart said go for the V8 sound, the smooth power delivery, luxurious leather, the beautiful looks, AWD, heated and cooled seats, 3 year warranty and it’s the last chance now to buy a new one at less than the 4 cylinder Boxter. Monaco here we come !
That color combo doesn't necessarily sound good on paper but it sure looks good on video. I don't know if I could bring myself to buy one of these (I think I share your general indifference to the brand and I don't know if I feel comfortable with motors being manufactured in China just yet) but they sure are pretty! Loved the outtakes at the end.
@@kriskantu I'd read Jaguar opened an engine manufacturing facility in China, so I assumed that's where they were building all their motors. I was wrong, thanks for letting me know :)
The engines are manufactured in Castle Bromwich since 2021 (Ford built them prior in Dagenham). The only things manufactured in China are XE, XF, and Evoque, and those are only for the local China market. All F-Types for all markets are manufactued in Britain, from European parts.
the car that is so up high and still lags with I.S. it's automatically a pass for me. the audacity they have to put laggy stuff that is so inexpensive or they just dont take time to optimize it now for future models it's at the bottom of the bottom
Well the fact that you can get these for 40k at 5 years old says a lot about the kind of car it is. I doesn't hold value. Not saying its not a nice car but its not worth 115k. Its more of a 70k vehicle
This is true. Depreciation is a big thing, and it's a big ask to get more than $110k for this car, no matter how sexy it is. There are a few too many compromises. I was able to drive the C8 Corvette shortly after (review coming soon), and it was light years beyond the Jag in nearly every way.
You're not finding an R for 40k unless its beat to shit/lots of miles. But the fact remains - they do drop like a rock in depreciation. You buy one for an emotional reason, not a logical one.
I can appreciate that. It's a tough sell at $120k, especially considering some of the silly things like screens that blank in direct sun and no heated seats (which I clearly felt strongly about). Thanks for watching!
I have three JLR products - an F-Type (had it for over 6 years) and XF (had it for over 4 years) and a Velar (had it for over 2 years). Money pit? Not even close. Very reliable and lovely riding cars.
Why? I would say ownership is only as relevant as the engineering and development. In this case, the parent company had nothing to do with the engineering, so ownership is irrelevant. In the case of Rolls Royce, which is owned by BMW and uses BMW platforms and parts, the discussion is a bit different.
Well, we certainly wouldn’t want to make someone with two first names mad (since they inevitably turn out to be serial killers). Instead of being mad, Bob Kirk, you could always watch my Behind the Wheel video dedicated solely to driving the Jag.
@@jax1079 No but I absolutely love KB, one of the most beautiful women in the world. Back to the F Type, it was simply gorgeous when it first came out and to be fair it still looks amazing and the exhaust note is amazing.
