    • @mitchellr232
      @mitchellr232 7 месяцев назад

      @@criley49 As someone currently quitting I understand. The issue I found is with weed is doing boring things becomes far easier. I can just smoke and go on a RUclips binge. In the moment it is a fun time but I don't remember things as well even when watching educational videos I'm not taking in the information as well because I numbed myself. I also don't look back on the day with pride and in turn I feel like my mental health takes a hit. Finding a new hobby is the best option(I'm trying to get back into reading something I can't focus on when high). Boredom is the worst part of sobriety(to begin with). We all know that it isn't healthy to rely on a drug. For me my biggest motivation is the fact that I'm always looking forward to it. I can be in a fun place with friends and family but I'll just be looking forward to smoking later. It's a sad state of mind to be in. In a way I'm missing the parts of life that were meant to make me happy and fulfilled thinking about something I do every day that just numbs me. I know I haven't given a good answer to your questions but I hope for myself that after a while I find life more exciting because I won't be constantly numbing myself and I hope that you will feel that too.

    Coming up on 1 year sober. Quitting weed was very difficult in the beginning, but it gets better. My life is not perfect by any means. However, I’m a better father, a better husband, I have more money in the bank, and I’m close to getting a better job. Last year I was lost, but now life is a lot better. If you are struggling quitting, YOU CAN DO IT. I smoked at least 5 times a day for many years. If you stop using, you will slowly see your life changing for the better.

    I've smoked for 12 years in extremely high daily use, every few minutes when I had it. I'm in my parents house and have no finances, I have to rewrite myself. I'm so glad Dr. Frank is around providing this addiction information. Its very calming knowing how normal these withdrawal symptoms are, learning serious risks of not stopping. I've been hospitalised once for CHS and I didn't even try to follow up what that meant for my health, this channel informed me of that and the other issues I could develop if I continued. Anger has always been a very large part of the the comedown and shortcomings, failed relationships and other things like that, this video helped to normalise that a lot too. Dr. Frank is doing amazing work and we can all get through this if we work on routine, relaxation therapy and setting those goals! One thing I'd like to hear about in a video if Dr. Frank see's this; In Australia, its very common to mix tobacco and marijuana together, I've smoked this way the entire 12 years. I'd like to know if there's any difference with how that effects the brain, if there is any information on that. Thanks Dr. Taublieb too!

    I became very addicted to weed after my middle son passed away in 2017. I was a complete mess. I was so scared to be sober to have to deal with life and the feelings that came with my grief. My oldest son asked me to quit this year. I’m 34 days cold turkey. It’s been really difficult going through intense withdrawal symptoms and the overwhelming feelings but I know it’s good for me to finally process them. My family and friends have noticed the changes and that I’m actually less angry but much more emotional. I think that’s ok to feel this way at this point. Your videos have helped me immensely to realize I need to go through this. I am hoping to go back to therapy, especially grief counseling. DBT has helped me before, I need to dust off my workbook.

    This channel help me quit two years ago and in January this year I went on a trip to NY and didn’t realize it was legal until day 3 of my trip. I decided to partake and a year later found myself smoking daily again. 7 years ago I had open heart surgery and I promised myself I’d never smoke again. Fast forward to now and the anger was taking over my life. I was hurting everyone around me and thankful they loved me enough to out up with it. I’m 2 weeks sober again and this time I plan on never smoking again. I couldn’t watch this channel when I was smoking even when I wanted to quit. This video helped me realize I need a few therapy sessions again and it will all be worth it. My health, my family deserve it. I’m done running I’m ready to face the music. Thank you Dr frank 🙏🏽🙏🏽

    My kids doing weed hurt me and made me angry because they lost their innocence. It’s hard for a mom to see their adult kids loose themselves and loose in life because of addictions winning. The world has cycles and it’s not worth it to get caught up in them. Anyone who can get out is a conquer and a hero. Please get out.

    This might be an unpopular way to go about it for weed but I actually checked myself into a detox facility for the soul fact that the first thing that made me want to give up on quitting was the anger and I didn’t want to do that to my family and people I cared about because I was awful and very mean and I know I’m not that person but quitting made me that person. So I went to detox and told them specifically that I was there because I get angry like a flip of a switch when I’m quitting and even if they hate me or my attitude I know they understand how to deal with it and no bridges would be burned. I stayed for a week (not the most pleasant week) but on new years it will be one month and as cliche as it is I can honestly say ive never felt better. I smoked to sleep and now my sleep hasn’t been this good in ten years even in the nights I only get a few hours; that I feel no need to go back and coming this far has my competitive side coming out not letting me break the streak or starting over again would be even harder!
