thanks for these tips, I have something more to try. I covered it with tarp and they are so desperate that they would land on tarp and because tarp is just supported by bricks, it goes under the water and they seem to be happy with their accomplishment.
I had a severe problem with ducks, because my neighbor thought they were cute and started feeding them. So then those ducks invited all their friends! I watchas as many as 7 ducks at one time splashing in my pool. Duck poop all over the decking, in my patio area, and in the pool. I tried a life like rubber alligator, about 3 foot long. One day I saw the ducks swimming with it. Fail. I later read that ducks do not like swans. I bought a pair of swan decoys. Bam! Like a magic bullet. Ducks left. One day I was standing in my yard and saw two ducks lined up for the landing approach to my pool. On final, they saw the swans and did an emergency pull up and vacated the area. My pool and yard have been duck free because of those swans, for a few years now.
Anything floating is good to scare off ducks in your swimming pool, as many as possible: floating toys, buckets, trays, balls, floating foam lounge.... and as colorful as possible . It worked very well for me using that method .
tried floating alligators , balls, floats...ducks swam right in the middle of all of it. tried fishing line criss crossed with flagging tape...ducks swam in the middle of it. tried plastic owls, hanging CD's. The only think we have found is netting covering the ENTIRE pool (left the steps and they swam there.
Thank you for the tips! Your video is practical and amusing...hopefully one of these tips will work. We tried a "No Ducks Allowed in the Pool" Sign...but the ducks ignored it. :(
I have a natural pool with unchlorinated freshwater and tons of vegetation. This oasis attracts every critter that exists. I don't mind sharing it, but ducks are especially destructive and messy. We just keep scaring them away and after a few weeks they get it - they're not welcome. I have tried a few deterrents, but they're pretty smart birds.
@@SPL They're smarter than that. They are not bothers by my dog who barks viciously from the edge of the pond. I got a laser pointer which freaks them out though. And I don't have to go outside to scare them away.
Tried the exact same floating alligator last year, but Ohio ducks apparently don't know what it is because they ignored it and swam around with it. Going to try foil wrapped floating balls and maybe some CD's hanging from the fence near the pool. I think I got ecoli from them this year.....so they gotta go.
We had a duck lay eggs and give birth to baby ducks , then my mom thought it was cute to feed them and help them get food so they can survive. Now they are very comfortable in our back yard and refuses to go anywhere for food. They will even knock on the glass door to come give them food lol 😆
Our problem is that the ducks are our domestics white Pekin ducks. They have a big lake to swim on... but they want to get on the patio around the pool and poop everywhere.. we tried everything to keep them away... and even not we have a fence up.. but they manage to find a way under it or push through the mesh.. man they are crazy! I think we will have to re home them... sad.
Jason Kinnear If you contact your local Arboretum they may lone you some traps and take the ducks off your hands. Hopefully you have one in your area. They are really hard to trap.
+maelizama Bed bath and beyond has them. Also Amazon: www.amazon.com/Stainless-Diameter-Whole-House-Worlds/dp/B01CGYUXUE?ie=UTF8&keywords=Floating%20Stainless%20Steel%20Orbs%20Ball%20for%20Pond%20Decoration&qid=1458833531&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1

I buy a real swan and put it in my pool every year and it works great to scare off the ducks...this year I have a real alligator

a giant swan float is pretty effective in my area. They are natural enemies.

Nice video! Here in Florida sometimes you can find real alligators enjoying the water.
Ha ha. True. I have two Aunts who live in St Augustine - been to the Alligator farm there - no ducks ;).
By the way your pool is awesome!!!
A 12 GAUGE works great 👍 even a 20 does the trick

I have an open pool with a really bad duck problem. I got a floating gator. This thing looks real. Haven't seen a duck around for about a year now.
From the ending you need to do a video on how to stop nesting in yard. Thanks for video.
Yeah, ducks can be hard to get rid of.
Ducks in your Swimming Pool? Making your pool into their own private watering hole? Here is how you get rid of them the Humane way ;).
I have a lot of ducks now. Thanks!

Alligator does not work. I’ve tried it on a dozen pools. I’ll try the reflective orbs.
Try the large swan float as well.
TAX THE DAMN QUCKERS!!! 😆
I think my golden retriever will take care of these ducks in my pool
We have ducks in our pool. They never poop in it, but they just swim and poop in the yard. We love it and we feed them bread twice a day.
DMSDrummer DONT BREAD ISNT GOOD FOR THEM IT DOSENT GIVE THEM ALL THE VITAMINS THE NEED
Bread causes ducks digestive problems. It's not their natural food.
Nice pool
nice pool!!
Question. If a duck poops in my pool what chemical should i add to disinfect it? And how long should i wait until I swim in the pool?
liquid chlorine is best. Try to vacuum or scoop it all out. Then wait 24 hours before swimming.
Awesome. Thanks for the reply :) love the videos
I emptied my pool. It now has no water in it. They don't come around any more.

As much as I like wildlife and ducks. You can’t have them swimming in your personal pools like this.
Exactly!
There in my pool right now it’s so annoying!
Very...
Alligator 🐊 didn’t work I got two and duck still got in
Try the orbs.
Thumbs down for the endangered rhino head.
20 gauge shotgun with some #6 shot works for me
😮
Or you can just throw an inflatable duck raft at them like I did that works really well
Solution: Pellet gun.
That's illegal where I live. I'm sure many other places too.
i would leave them swim if was me lol
useless dog lol
leav them alone ,

They are just ducks, leave them be.
Easy to say when you don't have ducks continuously shitting in your pool.
Yes it is easy until your pool turn green and nasty...I have a pool for my family NOT A wildlife sanctuary
But they're cute
Joshua Evans thats mean :,( 🐥
There poop can make you sick and they can die from the chlorinated water. You don't want them in there
