  • How to keep the ducks out of the swimming pool.
Ducks were stopping by our pool every morning, having a grand old time.
Every morning I had to go outside and shoe off the ducks.
At first it started with just 2 cute ducks.
But then the ducks started inviting there friends over to the pool. Then their friends invited their friends over to the pool party. Then before we knew it we had a whole pool full of ducks.
I think ducks are so cute.
But my husband on the other hand didn't want them in the pool because they get the water dirty. He was starting to make jokes about hunting them, & saying ducks freeze well in the freezer, so I knew I had to try something, or come up with an idea fast.
Maybe other people have tried this before. But the best thing about the big beach balls is that this is a very humane way of keeping the ducks out of the swimming pool.
I got the big beach balls at Walmart for $2.50 each. There were the smaller bouncy balls, but those were more expensive and I would need a lot.

Yes they still help a lot.
On occasion I do catch a pair of ducks that get into the pool. But it's nowhere as bad as it was before the balls.
Over time the balls become a little deflated, but I have an air pump to plump them up.

Great! I'm so glad your beach balls worked.
How many balls did you put in your pool?

I see you posted this 4 months ago. Do the balls still work? Just started having a duck issue in my pool and need a solution. Please let me know. Thank you

Yes, they still work. I haven't seen the ducks around for quite some time now.
The balls need to be inflated every so often.
I've had to replace a few, & it doesn't help that my cactus garden is near the pool.
Where I live it gets really hot so the heat wears on them.
