- Back when the 2020 teaser trailer was released, concept artist Marco Iozzi posted some pieces he worked on for the trailer and in this video I explore what they could mean and how they tie into dying stars, dark energy, the geth, the quarians and the scourge.

Combining Dark Energy and the Scourge into 1 story would be a smart play for Bioware.
Seems like the obvious connection.
So we might get andromeda and milky way mass effects united in one but until offical info commes out still i wonder.

I rather prefer that Mass Effect 4 was about a post apocalyptic galaxy, with factions fighting for territories and resources, rather than some bs from Andromeda.
Andromeda should be ignored as what it actually is A SPIN OFF.
@@efxnews4776 correction mass effect 5 not 4. Trying to memory hole average mass effect wont make it go away and waht if mass effect 5 ends up the same way this is why getting hyped is dumb idea. Plus it wasnt that bad sure it has flaws like main enemy, second it took place in a cluster and main story was average. And og trilogy was to limited but some what better but not great.

Let it die out Mass Effect doesn't need Anything from Andromeda... and by the way if folks love so much Andromeda, why not ask to Bioware give sequel to it instead of insert trash into the main franchise? Make Mass Effect 4 (FOUR) and make ME: A2 i do not oppose a sequel of Andromeda at all buddy, my main problem was ALWAYS the fact that Andromeda was so far appart from the OG franchise that it feels like a completely different IP.
But i don't have a problem with the game itself you know? I just don't think it really is Mass Effect material.
Dark energy coming back is super exciting, and I agree with your theories on how the Scourge, geth, quarians will somehow be the connection to Andromeda. Great analysis, and hope you feel better soon!
For me dark energy and dark matter is another way of describing a worm hole. That blue lake sure looks like a Stargate.
Dark Energy and Dark Matter are literally their own things, as are Wormholes.
This is pure BS buddy, dark matter and dark energy are two completely different things in fact scientists even start to question this dark matter theory recently...

Wow! This one was really awesome. The thought of the Reapers trying to create a species that could utilize the dark energy without destroying the universe (if I understand one of the possibilities that was presented here) reminds me a lot of the Jardaan and how they create new species.
I also find it interesting about how one of their last creations as far as we know are the Angara, who have their own ability outside biotics, but somewhat related as if I remember right the Angara use electrical current and biotics requires the use of electrical current to help active their abilities.
I also wonder that if the Scourge is the remnants of the mass weapon fired, if that weapon somehow used dark energy, hence why the Scourge has detrimental electrical currents as part of however its set up.
Anyway, can't wait to see how ME5 ends up being!

Hmm, I never really looked into Dark Energy plot too much, but when Drew explained it, it would make sense why the Collectors were making a human Reaper in ME2

If my suspicions are correct, the dying stars and dark energy build up hinted by Haestrom's sun in Mass Effect 2 will play a big role in the next Mass Effect game, making up for being excluded in the Mass Effect Trilogy.
Sometimes concept art is just that; concept art. It's used to provoke excitement/speculation and may, or may not, have anything to do with the final product. I only hope Mary is given as much context as possible from the original creators so she can logically tie in all the storylines and set us up for new ones. I like this idea. I don't know how it will to MEA, but it would be nice if it tied in somewhere.

Each Reaper was born after a harvest. Each plant has several individual Reaper. So that could mean that each culture could find different powers. It might be one of the cultures why trying to learn a power before they were ready to control it.

When I first watched the teaser trailer, I truly believed we were diving into the Andromeda galaxy, due to the one in the background looking much smaller, perspective and all.
If you Google pictures of the Andromeda galaxy, you notice Andromeda is much more elliptical - the one in the background clearly is the milky way.
But then we see all the wreckage, etc, - but I belive the Devs are trying to throw us off course.

I think some can be connected to the next game, but we just have to sit tight and see what N7 day brings us.
Man, I love this concept. I would really love a galaxy-scale plotline with hard sci-fi concepts. As a fan of authors like Alastair Reynolds and Greg Bear, I am absolutely here for mind bending spacetime distortions.

Crossing the (T's) and dotting the (i's). You should work for Bioware! The Geth may a hinge pin to the dark energy and the space telescopes used for Andromeda. The challenge is that it has entertain as well as make sense.

I hope the game takes place after Andromeda. And that the Milky Way has advanced. Maybe incorporated Reaper Tech. Moved beyond the limits of EEZO. Since all else was hidden from them by the Reapers.
Post Reaper War could they build a series of Mass Relays between the two galaxies?

Yes I do
You know I just realised that Mass Effect didn't go into one scifi trope in particular and that is time travel. If there was time travel involved and done well it could be used to both answer which ending is canon(all endings are canon because each is a separate timeline) and link us to the Andromeda galaxy in the future because the new mass relay is basically a time rift/tunnel allowing for time travel. It would allow Shepard to return via parallel timeline counterparts and have both MaleShep and FemShep at the same time. But time travel would not be without consequence and stuff like the Skourge and possibly even timelines start merging together(imagine we have both cured krogan where Wrex is alive and the krogan where Shepard sabotaged the cure and had to kill Wrex and they want Shephard dead) start happening. Of course that would mean a powerful bad guy capable of time travel and who knows exactly who they're fighting and can anticipate our every move and we have to stop him before he destroys the universe with his actions. And this theory could just be wishfull thinking because I want both versions of Shepard to team up and be badasses together.
The dark energy plot is cool but it would not have worked as an ending choice or a motivation for the Reapers. As an ending choice you are basically giving the player the choice to let the universe die or let the Reapers find a solution. For there is no way that the Milky Way can find a solution to the dark energy issue where the Reapers have failed. It is explicitly stated that the Reapers are beyond intelligent. With that in mind it makes no sense on a cosmic scale to kill them. As a motivation it works only if you ignore what what Sovereign said about their motivation being beyond organic understanding.

I believe Halstrom dies and becomes a black hole and is somehow connected to the black hole in Andromeda, hence becoming a stable wormhole / EinsteinRosenbridge..... but hey, who am I?
I mean based on that guys interview... Maybe humans were the right platform for biotics... And thats why... THEY WANTED TO BUILD A HUMAN REAPER!!!! DUN DUN DAAAAAAAAA!
Lol its a stretch but thats one detail I've never understood. There was no prothean reaper, or any species that came before it other then our beloved squids. Maybe they found their next evolution???
Wouldn't be better call Mass Effect 4? I refuse to accept ANDROMEDA as a sequel, maybe as an spin off, but not as a sequel.
BioWare is currently calling the next game 5, as Andromeda was 4 until it got its name.
Great analysis, as always. IMO, it is probably the best way to combine trilogy with MEA without canonizing any final ME3 choice.
