My god, so much animosity in these comments. This guy “ lets you into his home” to experience the thing that gives him joy.. and yet some people here “return” the favor with snark and petty complaints. Grow the hell up.
Whether by chance or intentionally, the beautiful furniture classics that match the electronics fit wonderfully into the room and ambience. Compliment.
My most sincere congratulations for having a man cave with such good taste (and very good Hi-Fi stuff). I'm bored of seeing rooms full of Funko dolls and similar nonsense. All the people with the same memorabilia of The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Kiss, etc, etc... and zero acoustic treatment. Your space is a breath of fresh air. Well done !! Greetings from Barcelona.
Loving the Mancave! At 6:30, under the Sony CD transport, I spy a pair of Teflon capacitors I think... I have them in my Citation II amplifiers... 😎👍 Cheers - Luther
Have always loved that song. When I lived in the Dallas area in the 80's the evening DJ on the local PBS radio station opened his evening jazz show with that tune. How do you like that Intact volume control as opposed to other methods, stepped attenuators, Alps pot, etc?
I love it! The AVC can't be directly compared to a conventional resistive type attenuator (Alps, Allen-Bradley, Noble and even discrete resistor/ladder etc.). It operates on a totally different principle. There'll be more details about my Intact Audio AVC in a future upload.
Wow! Your rignjas expanded. Where's the Mondrian OB? My set up had completely shrunk from when I visited your den in Philippines. The kids breaking things was unsustainable 😮😅 so my gear are mothballed for later. Now, from idler to sl1200 with a lid, from valves/tubes to ncore monoblocks and audiolab. I've even got a Waxwing from Parks Audio to listen to shellac (differentn eq) to keep tidy😂. Regards and Happy New Year. Jeremy UK
Nice to see you here Jeremy! Not as much space here compared to the attic, so no OBs. Kids grow fast, so enjoy them. When they leave home, idlers and tubes will fill the void. Hope to see you one of these days and happy 2024 too!
6:42 Love it!! A lot of great gear and great DIY stuff that you’ve shared with the masses. What are the (what look like) western electric repeating coil transformers at 6:42 used for?
Thanks, J! I mentioned line transformers in my nostda1541tube dac upload from a couple of years ago - jelabs.blogspot.com/2020/04/tda1541-nos-dac.html - more details about it soon!
Joseph, thanks for the tour, and thank you for everything you have shared with the amp building community. Beautiful space!
You're most welcome! Sharing my DIY audio adventures is an extension of my being a musician. 🍻

Beautiful and inspiring space. What is the ceiling height if I may ask? BTW that tune really grooves…
Ceiling height is a little over 7 ft. Thanks for the kind words!

Thank you! I don't read Japanese, but I've learned a lot from deciphering schematics and pictures. I also admire Japanese culture!
And exactly what are we looking at? I'm sure a lot of it be really cool if only it was explained

vinyl is inferior to CD, which means CD is superior to vinyl in every possible way, saying but vinyl is fun as i heard before is just pathetic
Yeah I always thought having fun was pathetic too
