Living Dexers are eating well tonight! I said this before in the mystery gift video, but you guys are amazing. The work you've put into the preservation of these games' events is incredible. Thank you so much!
You'll realize that there's a set of pokémon specifically designed to tackle Battle tower and Battle Frontier in RSE in the distributions. For those who want to skip the training part of the journey, those are a real good shortcut, what's more, there are TWO sets of the same pokémon trio, one set for level 50, one for open level. Amazing!
I read about the mew event in a video game magazine, asked my mom to take me there but she ignored me, I dreamed about the day I would be able to add mew to my collection. Seeing your work makes me realize I'm really, really far away from where I probably should be in terms of coding skills. I'm graduating this semester and am only comfortable with full-stack web development. It makes me a bit happy though because I realize there's so much more to learn out there! Sorry for the self-reflection no one asked for, but good work on the distribution roms; I hope to see more of your content.
no need, what they're doing is a very specific close to hardware coding, for which you need assembly. you really only need these skills for work very close to hardware (microchips, sensors, robotics, and so on). being comfortable with full-stack web development is already pretty good, so no need to put yourself down. Indeed, the potential to learn more stuff never ends and I think its commendable to strive to learn - so hats to you :)

Fun fact that almost nobody knows. The Space Center Deoxys distribution could also distribute the 10th Anniversary Celebi. Being nosy and watching the screen while they were giving me deoxys paid off big time for me 17 years ago, as well as everyone else in line behind me.
You have made me ridiculously happy. Emerald was my first Pokemon game, and I didn’t know anything about Pokemon events back then. Only later did I learn that event Pokemon were a thing and of course it was too late. I’ve always wanted to do a Living Dex in Gen III - I own all the GBA games and Colo and XD. But of course I would always be short the handful of mythicals. And I don’t believe in cheating as a way to get them. So the fact that I can basically legitimately get these event mons now is so cool!! Also, you’ve convinced me to buy a Japanese copy of Emerald (something I’ve wanted to do for awhile) just so I can get the Japanese event Pokemon too. Thank you so much for your hard work!
@yoshiwoollyworld I can’t really elaborate. It just doesn’t feel right to me. I don’t begrudge anyone that does cheat for a Living Dex, though. To each their own and all that
I think you guys should look into the Slot-2 Distributions done. Apparently there's a lot that can be uncovered. It may take more time to get working. But I think it'd be an interesting idea.
You just did a service to shiny hunters everywhere-- being able to shiny hunt a legitimate Wishmaker Jirachi is something no sane person would want to do; but most shiny hunters like myself failed their sanity checks long ago lol. But in all seriousness; recreating past events is so cool, and is a huge step in archiving games for posterity. Thank you for the hard work!!!

I was only able to attend the Jirachi and shiny Raikou events for HGSS and BW respectively. I was too young or didn’t know about the others. Thankfully, I was able to buy a distribution cart for the Deoxys and 10th Anniversary events for all the GBA games. It’s still so cool how the distribution events happened in the days before the internet!
It's people like you that make the Pokemon community so fantastic! These events will now be preserved forvever thanks to you! I just wanted to point out one small bug though. I tried distributing PCNY Pokemon to my ruby save file, and the event works like a charm; but after i receive the Pokemon, the pokedex is not getting properly updated. It says that Jirachi was caught, instead of cradily. I am working on an emulator, so i don't know whether that's causing the problem. Any help will be appreciated:) Once again thank you so much for preserving these lesser known gen 3 events!
@@MaxRavenclawI used mGBA on windows too. Make sure that you open the distribution rom in the first instance. Another thing, I noticed that mgba needs two different save files in the directory of the roms..one is the .sav file and the other is the .sa1/.sa2 file. Make sure you have both of those. If the problem persists, then just use vba link- it's way smoother.
I love this. I was going to make a save file with every event Pokémon from gen 3 but this is so much better. Whoa! I can finally get a 10th anniversary Celebi! I went to the event and stood in line, and the kid in front of me got a Celebi and then they said they were closing for the day.
I can only imagine the heart sink and immediate terror that set in. Poor guy!
Amazing!
Seeing old Pokémon events revived (Specially gen 3) fills me with inmense joy. Well done!
My dude going all in with the danganronpa music 🔥that aside, this was a very cool thing to do
Thank you so much for your hard work! You provide an invaluable service ensuring these events live on.
This videos are always so great, love how the community keeps unveiling and preserving pokemons
I read about the mew event in a video game magazine, asked my mom to take me there but she ignored me, I dreamed about the day I would be able to add mew to my collection.
This is a dream coming true, people that receive pokemon through mystery gift wifi have no idea what it is to be missing a pokemon before internet time.
Thank you so much for what you have done and to be so selfless to make it available for free
This is all so beautiful and impressive. From the great explanation, to the revolutionary historical work, to the background music. Love it all and thank you for this!
Thank you so much for doing this! I can finally fulfil my childhood dreams and recreate these events I missed out on
This has me excited from a completionist standpoint. You guys are awesome. If you ever find time I'd love to see you archive and turn the eReader stuff into a normal rom that can distribute stuff like the regi dolls and eReader berries, and play the lost pokemon mini games.
The Regi dolls would be amazing!
We definitely plan to do those eventually as well!
The fact that you check every single comment on your video is truly incredible feat itself! Congrats on the amazing work you guys!
this is incredible!! amazing work you two this is gonna mean so much to so many people
You just completed a part of my childhood, thank everybody who helped with this and I’m so stoked to play through again
this is incredible, younger me could only DREAM this was possible
Dude. This is Exactly what I was looking for. I have an EZflash as well and have the 4 distributions. I was literally looking for just this. Thank you 🙏 🔥
when trying to distribute it says make sure to have english cart, but my cart is english any suggestions?
always excited to see a new video from you! :) so happy that these events are once again obtainable, a lot of good work from you and undeadxreality!!
Indeed, the potential to learn more stuff never ends and I think its commendable to strive to learn - so hats to you :)
very fitting that mew, the ancestor of all pokémon, was the base of your programming HAHA
As a pokémon fan from a country Nintendo and Gamefreak never cared about (Brazil), you literally gave life back to my firered cartridge, got all these events running!!! Thank you so much!!
Incredible work finalle is GEN 3 distribution complete and finished!
Now! We need to get a distribution method for gen 6!
For Gen 6 personally, would love the never released Eternal Flower event!
Absolutely amazing work! Not just for the Pokemon community, but for Game Preservation as a whole! I know that I've been working on 100%ing Emerald for a while now and I feel much better knowing that Celebi and Deyoxys won't have to be skipped in my Pokedex.
Incredible video! I love the fact that you are taking all of this time to preserve something that is so close to a lot of our hearts! Quick question though, would you be able to make a tutorial video on how to get all these wonderful mons on our saves? That would be super super helpful! And again, thank you so much!
I probably won't make a video about it, but if you want to use it on original hardware, then there are instructions on the github page
@@Goppier I must have missed that somehow lol, thank you so much!
as someone who's always loved the older games, and who wants to eventually create a collection of old GBA games for myself, I sincerely, deeply thank you for recreating these events, some of which are older than I am. дякую мій друг
I never donate money, but you deserve this, and I hope others join in, because I can't wait for your gen 2 to gen 3 device to come
Thank you! The device will be next big project again, so hopefully there will be an update soon again
@@Goppier I haven't been this excited in years
two bucks what a cheapskate
Amazing, amazing, amazing. Kudos to you all. I could never have the determination to do anything like this and just amazed.
This is incredible what you accomplished, now it will be saved forever. Especially the gen 3 ones. They're so old and it's not as easy to get informations on them, so they were the most important ones to save.
Thank you so much for your efforts towards preserving these!!
I would love to see you tackle the e-reader battle cards and Berry cards, I think you would be able to do it easly after this
We plan to do e reader stuff in the future as well!
it's super cool to see techno wizarding being used for preservation, all the hard work is appreciated!!
I knew it! Danganronpa in the background 🥰
the 10th anniversary celebi rom has never been dumped so this is legendary. glad i found it.
This is awesome! I'd like to help contribute with the JEREMY Pokémon. I have all 15 (Yes, there were only 12 different Pokémon, but Tauros, Machoke, & Haunter had both IDNo). I am however still working on getting them migrated to HOME. Please let me know how I can help.
That would be awesome if you could help! Is it possible for you to contact me on discord? Goppier#9849
If possible could you keep them in 3ds format?
@@undeadxrealitythey're all still currently in GBA format
That's amazing! We would love to analyse and preserve them like that in the gba format!
@@GoppierSounds great! I contact you on discord sometime later today!
hey, just coming back to this to say thank you.
gen3 was a huge part of my childhood which I regularly revisit.
I am so hyped. Have you seen the project someone else did for transferring gen 2 pokemon to gen 3 by using a homebrewed setup for the gbasp? That was super interesting. If so, what were your thoughts about this?
It was him
I am curious about his device. I'm so happy
@@xSATOKU was it? i am pretty sure that was not him, because it was a completely different approach and not something with a custom pcb.
I have seen it and it is cool that people are making their own versions!
@@Goppier just know that you are an awesome people. A true hero
Absolutely amazing work! I love that you've made these special event pokemon available again. I remember getting the special Mew from Toys 'r' Us back in the day, to help fill out my collection. And it's great to see that new players can... kinda at least... be able to do the same.
This is incredible! The work you have put in is insane to be able to make this happen. Im totally going to be using this. On another note....i fear i may sound entitled by even asking but....WHERE IS THE UPDATE ON THE HARDWARE?!?!? I am frothing at the mouth waiting for an update on the board for moving gen 2 to gen 3 and im dying to get my grubby little mitts on one. 😅
Now that these projects are done I will focus again on the device and make an update about it soon
@@Goppier Absolute LEGEND!
This is nothing short of incredible, the amount of things that had to go and did go right for this happen; from the recovery of these physical roms to the skillset threshold and successful organization of this team to pull this off, you guys are legends, i can only imagine telling my past self that in the future he would have access to all of these without game sharks. Thank you so much for this.
Except for the NYC thing the guys gf accidently deleted a entire gamecube memory card containing vital pokemon data now forever lost
Don't remind me... I'm still angry about it. But I'm more angry about her position in relationship not being "overwritten for a better one" the same way she did.
@Hydrocannon as a game preservest and played since the gen 1 days this just makes my blood boil not everyday you get to own history of a beloved franchise but that is just ugh 😑
Thank you for making this available for generations of users to come! I am returning to Pokémon after many years (I’m 41) and this is helpful!
Any plans to make repro carts of this? Would love to get a full Pokedex on ANY Gen 3 Pokemon game!
The roms can be downloaded from the description!
Commenting to boost up in the algorithm.
Thank you for all your work!
i love this i hope he dose the eon ticket, old sea map, mystic ticket and aurora ticket for the japanese versions unless someone know where i can get them?
We'll do that as well at some point as well as localizations for the other languages!
Wow that's cool! Congratulations on all this magnificent work, you were incredible.
I would really like to be able to create distribution ROMs with my own events and Pokémon, but I don't know anything about programming, but it would be fun.
Once again, congratulations on the video
danganronpa music
I just want to add that the collage on the thumbnail with pichu popping out the egg is adorable af :D
I still have hope with the gen 2 to gen 3 device, it's still in the making right?
It is yeah, he said he's gonna post another update soon
@@justaperson4656 I'm so happy that I'm actually crying
@@KingLarbear I know!! This man has saved my g1 mew
@@justaperson4656 I'll take that like as a yes from him
I absolutely cannot wait to do this myself i never got to go to any events as a kid.
Amazing work as always, also it was cool to see Blissy and Lappy in the special thanks, I know them from the RNG community.
I loved pokemon as a kid, and now im an embedded systems engineer. Seeing this kind of content makes past me and present very excited!
This is history of videogames and technology being preserved and celebrated!
This is AWESOME! I attended the 10th anniversary event as a kid, transferred the top 10 and Celebi up to Pokemon Black which at one point I reset and lost all these event exclusives. My GBA flash cart is waiting for me when I get home!
Literally ordered a GBA Flash Cart for this, what an amazing work ! Thanks for this guys !
Order two (or three if you can) Wireless adapters too, Gotta get those event items and FRLG minigame trainer card star.
Which flash card would you recommend I purchase? I'm kinda confused on the process lol
@@evanreid7400 If you got the money, I'd suggest EzFlash Omega Definitive Edition. It also has a feature to activate "slot 2 features" on DS games that have those bonuses.
So then you would download all the files onto an SD card and that's it? Or would it only allow one at a time?
@@evanreid7400 Yes, but slot 2 feature requires you to put the roms one at a time using "write to NOR" feature.
This is such a cool project! I never got to attend any of these events, but I DID have a friend who owned the Colosseum bonus disc and let me get the Wishmaker Jirachi from it. I still have the Jirachi, though unfortunately it's no longer holding the berry, lol.
I tested this with my Analogue Pocket, and it worked wonderful! Thank you for doing This! I Can finally finish the Gen 3 Dex IN Gen 3!
We're currently testing the update for it and should be released by next weekend!
@@GoppierWoohoo! You are an absolute legend!!
What emulator did you use? I'm trying to get it to work on mGBA on Windows and I'm having trouble.
You are now one of my heroes in the software world, absolutely amazing work. You should be very very proud of this achievement 👏
Bro my face lit up when I saw this video in my feed! THANKS SO MUCH THIS IS SO COOL!
Preserving history I think is the most important aspect of the internet.
You are doing the world a great service.
Thank you so much!
I love this. I was going to make a save file with every event Pokémon from gen 3 but this is so much better.
I'm gonna play third gen with friends to complete the Pokédex, but I wanted as weel to get as many events as possible to make true my childhood dreams. If you need help for similar projects in the future I will do whatever is in my power. I do have some experience in coding so this is so entertaining. At the moment I'm completing my journey in first gen and pretty soon I will start with crystal and stadium 2.
I am working on my living Dex in Emerald right now, and this sounds like this is the perfect solution to help me get the unobtainable mons I missed from Events! Thank you! When the time comes, I will give this a try.
Hopefully you can complete the dex now with these events!
@@Goppier I did! Thank you! I had a GB operator and backed up my save to my computer and then emulated the distribution rom and linked it to my Emerald file in mGBA. Worked great! Thanks for your hard work!
Really putting the entry of mew being the ancestor of all pokemon into effect
I was at a hackathon yesterday, so I missed the premier. Glad to finally watch the video today.
Really amazing work! Can't wait to see what you can do with the event item distributions as well!
The event item are already remade by us and can be found in the mystery gift video!
