Hi, firstly I would like to thank you for the huge amount of time, dedication and effort that you have no doubt put in to making all of this a possibility with your love of the gen 3 Pokémon games and you sir have blown my mind with your skills and at the same time reignited my same love of the gen 3 games from my childhood during the very early 2000's. As I do not have the required hardware to do this I had to go the emulator route, but although I followed your guide to do this to the T, I am having an issue with the Mystery Event rom I loaded with the new multiplayer window, telling me to check that the wireless adapter is connected. I have tried to look online for a solution but seeing as what I am attempting to do is not very well known, all I get are answers like "just inject event items with a cheat code" but obviously this isn't about just getting event items, it is an event in itself. Any help on this issue would very greatly be appreciated. Thank you and keep up the amazing work!
I have 5 kids, 4 that are old enough to play games, so I pulled out my old gameboy DMG, pocket, gbc and gba stuff few years back. I got them gen 1 games and a gbc and they are close to finishing their Pokédex’s and they have gen 2 games. I throw events in the house with Pokémon stadium 1 and 2 with prizes. Next year plan on getting gbas and some extra ruby and sapphire games. Your work has been awesome. I can’t wait to use the exploits with the old e reader to make events for the kids.
Mad respect for the hard work that went into creating these - I'm considering going deeper into the technical side of this all so that I can participate in the events you created. You've inspired at least one person to get into the grown-up side of pokemon!
You can see the passion put into making sure everyone gets to experience these events. I'll need to inject each one since I don't have an e-reader or a good printer, but I sure am glad there's an option for me as well. Great job Blisy!
I wasn't aware that you could dump saves with a Homebrewed Wii! This is very helpful to know since I've been doing a lot of stuff with Emerald and other Gen 3 games lately, so backing up the save for preservation will be helpful. I'll definitely check out these events now!

Props for making these as accessible as possible. One question: Could I use any GBA cart and flash a new save over that, or is there a specific reason you're using a fake cart?
Official GBA carts can't be flashed, you either need a flashable cart or maybe something like the omega flash and load the rom from there but i don't know if that will work

True, they’ll function and behave nearly the same, but I guess this method is as “original” as you can get today if that makes sense. Either way you gotta give him props cuz this looks like it took massive man hours

I'm trying to inject via mGBA, and I was able to put the Celebi and Entei events into the game, but the other events always get "loading error" mystery event process. It's strange because on the e-reader it still says "event delivered!"
A friend and I started playing around with a sapphire rom in vba. We wanted to learn scripting, so we built a macro to shiny hunt legendary static encounters afk. This turned into hunting starters and even random encounter shinies. Our main hurdle was the latis, which was very complicated for our macros due to the reset and then needing to fly to another location. I discovered the eon ticket and other event distros and I HAD to figure it out. I was able to use dolphin emulator to connect the coliseum bonus disk and get jirachi. Now we are able to get the other mon through e reader codes! ( I never knew about the e reader growing up so this is a huge breakthrough.) Now after I do these event mon, my friend and I are going to script the shiny hunting for the ticket latis. I might end up doing a youtube vid on this journey myself, its been a ton of fun.

I'm stuck in "Please Check whether the Wireless Adapter is connected properly and turn on the power again" screen. I did every step, but somehow ended up in this.
This is really cool! I'm having issues when it comes to injecting the saves. I have a gba flashcart with the e-reader US rom. I add the event save to my flashcart to the proper folder and naming on it so that the .sav file is associated with the e-reader rom. I have tried both the 64kb and 128kb version and that 3rd option of accessing saved data doesn't show up. Any help? Thanks!
Alright, I figured it out! - You need a clean ereader.gba rom file. - Put it anywhere you want on your flashcart. I use Everdrive GBA Mini. - On your PC, copy the name of the 128kb save file and paste the name on the fresh ereader.gba, renaming it to match the save file. - Copy and paste to duplicate the save file you chose (Entei Emerald.sav) and rename the copied save file to .fla instead of .sav (Entei Emerald.fla) - Move BOTH save files (.sav and .fla) to your save files location on the flashcart. For Everdrive GBA Mini, move your saves to the GBASYS/saves folder. - Launch the game and it should work.

I really enjoy using RNG manipulation to get shinies and I want to do that for your events, but I also would like to be able to have non-shiny versions of each Pokémon

Wait, was the wider and thinner end a univerversal standard for link cables? because if that was the case, that would explain why as a kid I had such a hair pulling moment trying to figure out who was master and who was the slave when doing anything with the cable

Ok so after I unlock mystery event in emerald, what do I do? All the files I've downloaded are unable to be uploaded to the flash cart. Is it the 128 or 64kb files, how do I inject save files, the flashgbx doesn't give me the option to upload them like it did the mystery event activation. In the readme it says emerald requires save injections but I just can't upload any of them

Does your emerald rom is the english version? Those events only work on english version. I had to load my french save into a us rom to make it work and find an another e-reader us rom.
I have a german game and everytime I talk to the man in the Pokecenter my game crashes. I already changed the language to german before I inject WC3. So what I'm doing wrong?
I had the same problem in Emerald and couldn't find a solution there. Then I tried it with German Ruby instead and it worked using a far easier method. In Ruby/Sapphire, mystery event is unlocked by simply talking to the guy next to the PC in Petalburg City and saying "Geheim Geschehen Ist Jipp! Jipp!". Then you can inject any of the ME3 files from MYSTERY EVENT 3 EVENTS/DE in imablisy's github using WC3 tool. And that's it. The event should be unlocked.
Hi, I am having trouble getting the events working. I injected mysteryevent and the person in the poke center takes me to a wireless communication menu. I tried using the mgba to emulate the e reader but the emerald just says wireless adapter not connected when going on mystery gift
I'm having trouble getting the Mystery Event GBA file to load onto my flash cartridge. I'm using miniSD Super Card cartridge and when I try to add the Mystery event file to it, I get a message saying "File Open Error" and it's not going in.
So excited, got all the equipment and testing with my dumped ROM is successful! Just a few questions: 1. What's the difference between "CelebiEventUnlocked" and just plain "CelebiEvent" in the Emerald folder? 2. With these events, once the pokemon is captured, is the event over or could you do it again? If you fail to catch it and white out, is the pokemon gone for good? 3. I want to use the normal mystery gift feature to get the Emerald tickets so I can go to the islands. Will doing the work to set up "Mystery Event" cause the normal "Mystery Gift" feature to fail for any reason? Thank you!
Unlocked is a version of Celebi that is able to be shiny, the original version is 100% legal and can’t be shiny. So I made a version that could shiny hunt. After you catch it the event goes away, but you can just scan the card again. If you faint or white out or run you can just soft reset or speak to the event again and it’ll happen immediately. Mystery event will not cause anything to fail. Mystery event is basically programmed the same way as those tickets are- so you can only have one in at a time. In fact once you scan a card, mystery event goes away and you have to do mystery gift again to get it lol
@@imablisy Thanks! So, I know I can do mystery events to get the Aurora ticket, Eon ticket, etc. from the mystery man. and I can hold on to them and go to the islands anytime. Are mystery events similar in that I can "load in" all the mystery events in a row and then just play with all the events present in the game without needing to go back and scan another ereader code (Scan Entei, Raikou, Suicune tickets and then just play)? Or, for example, would I have to scan the ereader for each event (Scan Entei, catch Entei, Scan Raikou, Catch Raikou, etc.) because each new scan overwrites the previously existing event?
Are the e reader cards copies of the official events just in e reader format? (Deoxys, Mew, etc. events) Or are they all custom-made events that you can add into the games through the e reader?
Not sure what happened but every time I try to load up the E reader scans into the emerald Mystery Event it says Loading event and doesnt finish, but the e reader instance on VBA says the event was delivered but I cant exit the loading screen on Emerald
I tried to reflash a spanish emerald repro cart with an Italian emerald rom with gbabf, however it keeps telling me a writing error at 0x0000, expected 0xfdf7, data address 0xffff. Do I have to convert the rom or something to fix it? I really don't know what I have to do

I tried it and up to the point where i need to talt to the guy in the pokecenter in the upper floor everything goes right. but then everytime he says that i have to save before obtaining a gift and then the game just stands stil. Hi ! I'm having a small issue with the mystery event wc3. I'm on a French version of Emerald, and when I talk to the man in blue, he has the dialogue but the save prompt never shows up. I tried to load the same save file with an English rom, and it works. Technically I could use my English rom to load the event and then update my French save file with the French/English file (that's the next thing I'm gonna try), but it's a lot of back and forth for nothing. And reading the other comments, it seems that I'm not the only one having issues. So I was wondering : - Is the mystery event functionality "more" gone in the European versions of emerald than the English version, making it completely unavailable ? - if not, do you think it's possible to have an updated wc3 that works for the other languages ? is it something you intend to tackle in the future ? I also have another question, out of curiosity : since Japanese FRLG also have e-reader compatibility, do you want to do something with FRLG too some day ?
question, will the unlocking of Mystery Event in emerald affect any link capabilities that the game has? (i.e having local battles with other gen 3 versions/games, mixing record, connecting to Colosseum/XD or use of Pokemon Box) i would like to do this on my Emerald cart but i don't want to lose my ability to connect to my gamecube and play against friends.

Is there anyway to do the flash cart methods with a GBA-GBA Link cable? While I have a collection of hardware, wireless adapters have eluded me as they've never been needed
@@K-dexYeah, a link cable would be Mystery Event, not Mystery Gift. Nothing doing without the adapter. Unless you get into multiboot fuckery - with that you could (you likely don't know how) write code to send to your GBA with your Emerald in it to modify the save.
Considering a wii with hbc can mess with save data, can it also set the rtc after a battery swap, similar to the berry patch, but instead set it to the time in the save?
It could if you programmed a tool to do it. But I don't think such a tool exists. There IS, however, a utility to send homebrew multiboots to your GBA, and I'm 80% certain one of those will do what you want!
Anybody know how to fix the instant 'Read Error' that pops up whenever I load up the E-reader rom? It won't let me, or acknowledge anything I scan. I'm not sure what the problem is because I've already done this once before a few days ago and it worked then.

I don't own a flashcart, so I am using the fake cartidge. You can use any flashcart.

it is standard.
Yep, P1 is Master, the other end is Slave(s).
And if you plug two GBA cables into each other, you make a GB cable!

Did you make E-cards/a program for Emeralds Legal events? Im not sure if you need to record mix them from ruby/sapphire

Does this work with link cables and not wireless? I have a GBA and an analogue pocket. Alternatively I have a gameboy player and either of the above but no wireless adapters.
I have a sort of problem I think ? whenever I try to use the Mystery Event guy on the second floor I get stuck on the dialog box that I must save for me to use Mystery Event does anyone have any info on how I can fix that ? Thanks in advance you guys!

Does your emerald rom is the english version? Those events only work on english version. I had to load my french save into a us rom to make it work and find an another e-reader us rom.
im getting a loader error ending session with any of the beast events using mGBA with bios, celebi and jirachi works, but not the beast please help

I have a german game and everytime I talk to the man in the Pokecenter my game crashes. I already changed the language to german before I inject WC3. So what I'm doing wrong?
I had the same problem in Emerald and couldn't find a solution there. Then I tried it with German Ruby instead and it worked using a far easier method.
In Ruby/Sapphire, mystery event is unlocked by simply talking to the guy next to the PC in Petalburg City and saying "Geheim Geschehen Ist Jipp! Jipp!".
Then you can inject any of the ME3 files from MYSTERY EVENT 3 EVENTS/DE in imablisy's github using WC3 tool.
And that's it. The event should be unlocked.
Hi, I am having trouble getting the events working. I injected mysteryevent and the person in the poke center takes me to a wireless communication menu. I tried using the mgba to emulate the e reader but the emerald just says wireless adapter not connected when going on mystery gift

I'm having trouble getting the Mystery Event GBA file to load onto my flash cartridge.
I'm using miniSD Super Card cartridge and when I try to add the Mystery event file to it, I get a message saying "File Open Error" and it's not going in.

So excited, got all the equipment and testing with my dumped ROM is successful! Just a few questions:
1. What's the difference between "CelebiEventUnlocked" and just plain "CelebiEvent" in the Emerald folder?
2. With these events, once the pokemon is captured, is the event over or could you do it again? If you fail to catch it and white out, is the pokemon gone for good?
3. I want to use the normal mystery gift feature to get the Emerald tickets so I can go to the islands. Will doing the work to set up "Mystery Event" cause the normal "Mystery Gift" feature to fail for any reason?

Unlocked is a version of Celebi that is able to be shiny, the original version is 100% legal and can’t be shiny. So I made a version that could shiny hunt.
After you catch it the event goes away, but you can just scan the card again.
If you faint or white out or run you can just soft reset or speak to the event again and it’ll happen immediately.
Mystery event will not cause anything to fail. Mystery event is basically programmed the same way as those tickets are- so you can only have one in at a time. In fact once you scan a card, mystery event goes away and you have to do mystery gift again to get it lol
@@imablisy Thanks! So, I know I can do mystery events to get the Aurora ticket, Eon ticket, etc. from the mystery man. and I can hold on to them and go to the islands anytime.
Are mystery events similar in that I can "load in" all the mystery events in a row and then just play with all the events present in the game without needing to go back and scan another ereader code (Scan Entei, Raikou, Suicune tickets and then just play)? Or, for example, would I have to scan the ereader for each event (Scan Entei, catch Entei, Scan Raikou, Catch Raikou, etc.) because each new scan overwrites the previously existing event?
Are the e reader cards copies of the official events just in e reader format? (Deoxys, Mew, etc. events) Or are they all custom-made events that you can add into the games through the e reader?
So I tried the flashcart method and couldn't get it to work as it didn't recognize any of the .sav files both the 64/128 versions.

Not sure what happened but every time I try to load up the E reader scans into the emerald Mystery Event it says Loading event and doesnt finish, but the e reader instance on VBA says the event was delivered but I cant exit the loading screen on Emerald

I tried to reflash a spanish emerald repro cart with an Italian emerald rom with gbabf, however it keeps telling me a writing error at 0x0000, expected 0xfdf7, data address 0xffff. Do I have to convert the rom or something to fix it? I really don't know what I have to do

had an idea don't if its remotely possible but is the e reader able to put a patch through to change a games language so someone could cut down on cost and buy a legit Japanese copy? i know the e reader has been used for patches before.
how do i play the events into retroarch? i really want to play the events but i dont know how to. could you be willing to make a rom hack version of it or something else?
I tried it and up to the point where i need to talt to the guy in the pokecenter in the upper floor everything goes right. but then everytime he says that i have to save before obtaining a gift and then the game just stands stil. (also the guy talks in inglish and my copy of emerals is german.) is there any fix?

I have an Emerald copy and an everdrive but no E-Reader or printing capabilities. Would it be possible to put the E-Reader Rom onto the everdrive off the computer and scan the events onto my copy of Emerald?

Hi ! I'm having a small issue with the mystery event wc3.
I'm on a French version of Emerald, and when I talk to the man in blue, he has the dialogue but the save prompt never shows up. I tried to load the same save file with an English rom, and it works. Technically I could use my English rom to load the event and then update my French save file with the French/English file (that's the next thing I'm gonna try), but it's a lot of back and forth for nothing. And reading the other comments, it seems that I'm not the only one having issues. So I was wondering :
- Is the mystery event functionality "more" gone in the European versions of emerald than the English version, making it completely unavailable ?
- if not, do you think it's possible to have an updated wc3 that works for the other languages ? is it something you intend to tackle in the future ?
I also have another question, out of curiosity : since Japanese FRLG also have e-reader compatibility, do you want to do something with FRLG too some day ?
Is it possible to use 2 flash carts, download the e-reader rom onto one flash cart and transfer the event to the other flash cart??

question, will the unlocking of Mystery Event in emerald affect any link capabilities that the game has? (i.e having local battles with other gen 3 versions/games, mixing record, connecting to Colosseum/XD or use of Pokemon Box)

When i got my emerald save it was a .sav file and not a .gba file? is there any way to convert?
I tried the e-reader method in the emulator, but it gets an error reading the .raws every time, i tried everything but don't know what happened :(

@@K-dexYeah, a link cable would be Mystery Event, not Mystery Gift. Nothing doing without the adapter.
Unless you get into multiboot fuckery - with that you could (you likely don't know how) write code to send to your GBA with your Emerald in it to modify the save.

It could if you programmed a tool to do it. But I don't think such a tool exists.
There IS, however, a utility to send homebrew multiboots to your GBA, and I'm 80% certain one of those will do what you want!

Anybody know how to fix the instant 'Read Error' that pops up whenever I load up the E-reader rom? It won't let me, or acknowledge anything I scan. I'm not sure what the problem is because I've already done this once before a few days ago and it worked then.
