      If you want both I would stick with a Hobie. That is the only peddle drive I like. All the other ones are loud and not comfortable as it bicycle style.

      I like the Nucanoe because it’s easy to modify and have an open deck if you like.

    Ive been debating about this one and the new TitanX. Im hoping to get into some tournaments but have little ones that i like to bring with me too. The fact that you can pretty easily tandem this one has me leaning toward the unlimited.

    • @rjmfishtales
      @rjmfishtales  9 месяцев назад

      Yes super easy to go tandem even with the Torqeedo with the 2 different adapters from Nucanoe. I still have the Hobie as well. They both have their pros and cons. The new Titan is a beast. I truly like the open deck of the Nucanoe and simplicity.

    • @metalhead0731
      @metalhead0731 9 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah the deck space looks pretty impressive. The con I had with the Titan was how much deck space the pedal drive took up.

    • @rjmfishtales
      @rjmfishtales  9 месяцев назад

      @metalhead0731 it’s all up to you. It’s your needs and likes. When I do videos about choosing a kayak is you need to water test if you can for sure. Even though the Hobie is a pedal drive it’s a different bread. You still have lots of deck space and can move pedals easily completely out of your way as well.
      Going from a pedal drive to just using a motor was an adjustment but definitely enjoying the range and not killing myself physically to be able to fish back to back days especially at my age without totally losing all of my steam.
      But live taking the little guy out until he can able to have his own. You can do 3 people on Nucanoe. Myself, wife and son on bench seat in the middle. So very versatile.

    Ok, I’m following you because I’m interested in this kayak and how you’re going to set it up. I’ve never kayak fished so I’m a newbie. NuCanoe make what they call a transport cart that slides in the hole in the back. Wonder if you looked into them. I believe they are cheaper than the boondocks but some of the reviews claim it’s not for heavy kayaks.

    • @rjmfishtales
      @rjmfishtales  Год назад +1

      I may get the boondox one day. But for now I will just wet launch. I have the trailer for it. The other place I fish I just drop kayak by the bank off the trailer. Should have kayak finalized over the next month. Waiting on parts. Thank you for the support.

    • @mikearcher6239
      @mikearcher6239 Год назад +2

      I have had my Unlimited for a couple years and I would advise against the transport cart. It’s too heavy. If you launch in the most perfect conditions you might be ok. More likely to need a bunk style cart. YakAttack makes some good carts are more available than something like the Wilderness cart. The Unlimited is a great platform, stable, versatile, paddles well for a large kayak.

    • @rjmfishtales

      I am most likely just going to wet launch it and not get the wheels. Thank you for the input sir. Yes I am having fun with it. Not missing Hobie too much right now. It’s nice not having the fins etc.

    Dude put your scupper plugs in. If water isn't coming over the top of your yak you don't need to take them out. Better bouyancy too. If you do get a little water, pull 1 out, drain the water, put it back in. But thats just me. Running mild rivers just keep 1 pulled.

    • @rjmfishtales
      @rjmfishtales  11 месяцев назад

      When I am running the Torqeedo sometimes I put them in or when water is cold, but I never really get water inside. I usually leave them out because saltwater fishing I take big waves over boat and don’t want to remember to pull a plug in a hurry. Doesn’t bother me. Good advice though. Thank you.

    So hard to find videos of how this boat does on rivers.

    • @rjmfishtales
      @rjmfishtales  11 месяцев назад

      My opinion it would do ok but would not be my first choice for a smaller river . But larger rivers it is fine because I used it on the Susquehanna with the motor and will continue to use in larger rivers. But smaller rivers with rapids and strictly paddle I would use Bonafide RVR or Crescent Shoalie.

      I am happy with using the Nucanoe as primary with the Torqeedo on the back. Being able to cover a crap ton of water now and being able to monitor the battery and possible distance has been awesome. I still jump in the Hobie when on small bodies of water though. But I will say I have been more comfortable on the seat on the Nucanoe with the Kayak Kushion. I am very pleased with it.

    • @rjmfishtales
      @rjmfishtales  Месяц назад +1

      All kayaks get pushed around. If you are talking about Nucanoe? I fish tidal waters with it and just have Torqeedo and works fine. You adapt to any kayak you have. If you want to be able to hold position a little more then get Hobie or put an anchor wizard or power pole on anything else.
