The energy crisis was largely her parties fault as they failed to stock up on gas as our reserves were at rock bottom when Russia invaded Ukraine, they failed to invest in new energy generation which would have stopped the energy shortage and they supported America's aggression in Ukraine.
She also states that they are going to invest in public spending but fails to grasp that these rises in interest rates are going to have a massive impact on our country's debt repayments. We are likely going to go from about 1.5 billion per month to over 8 billion, which takes at least 78 billion out of the budget.
4 weeks ago we where in a better position than we are now, if they did nothing it would be better than what they did.
The combination of arrogance and ignorance of these people is just terrifyingly, I hope we can get them out quicker than 2yrs.

I really like that first interviewer. Her deadpan delivery and tone of voice is superb. You can see the contempt in which she holds Truss, yet she delivers her questions in a measured, balanced and calm manner, and it's hilarious to see Truss's reaction!

Beth Rigby was disgraced along with Kay Burley during the SCAMDEMIC for breaking lock down rules but yet she sits there in front of the PM and attempts to roast her. This woman is almost like one of those automatic telephone support lines, one is just missing the instructions, "press 1 for tanking the pound, press 2 to sink 12 million mortgages, press 3 to giveaway millions to the UK's richest Russian oligarchs, or press 4 to launch a nuclear attack. Press 5 to repeat these options."
I say _almost like_ because at least the automatic telephone ladies _seem_ to have _half_ a personality.

4 weeks ago we thought we’d had enough of Boris’s lies, but life was still fairly normal as it has been for years. She comes in 2 weeks of mourning, then she completely turns every normal person’s life upside down and now life is uncertain. Interest rate rise is something I thought would never happen because a lot of people are going to go to the wall. In 2 weeks. She is like the grim reaper

You should see though that this is a decision made by the media as a whole. There have been a litany of disasters and scandals the past 5yrs which have barely been scrutinized - so what’s different now? Mortgages increasing in cost effects the wealthy too, so the message comes from the top to attack. Journalists shouldn’t be allowed to pick and choose when to report stories, when and whose feet to hold to the fire, they should be scrutinizing everybody, all the time, with equal vigor, and they don’t. None of these journalists are doing anything extraordinary.
Why she should serve snide mean mouthed people like yourself is beyond me.

Absolutely correct, the £2,500 is NOT a limit, it is a tariff cap and a Standing Charge cap, not a usage cap! Therefore, if people use more they will pay more. I say this as an Energy Broker.
What's the problem with that? People can't just used unlimited amounts, and plus capping usage would massively benefit those with more wealth, larger and multiple properties etc.

*A GUY ON £350K* called into a radio show - he said the 5% cut would have saved him £10,000. BUT he has a £700k mortgage, 2% increase is £14,000
He said "what is the point of giving me a 5% tax cut if the result is a 2% or 4% increase in my mortgage???
That applies to all those on mortgages
That doesn’t make sense. The 2% increase is the interest rate, not the mortgage balance.

2% increase on £700k is an extra £14,000 a year
Your maths implies he is paying the full 700k back in a year.
@@TomNook. Except that lower earners will now be paying at least 2% more on their mortgages if they're renewing now or getting a mortgage and will see vey little benefit from tax cuts. Median wage earner will save @£15/month in tax, 2% rise from 4 to 6% on a £200k mortgage will be £200/month, so the effects of them wanting to give high earners 5% off their tax is definitely not the same.

I don't feel that they are getting better so much as they gave Johnson an easy ride in comparison. Johnson was originally a journalist - I think they were hesitant or nervous to eat their own.
