Moncton area is home for my husband and myself, We used to go to Moncton High School on a city bus passing this spot every day. Sometimes the wave would be much higher, We were told the size of the wave was determined by the moon, This wave comes in every 12 hours round the clock. The River bed fills up side to side with the muddy but then it empties out again getting ready for the tidal wave 12 hours later. We now live in Ottawa but every time we go to visit family in Moncton we get to see the wave,
definitely bigger than it was when I was growing up. That being said, we joke and call it a "total bore... so putting the title as "super bore" sort of made me chuckle" It's really nice to see that it's regaining some of its size.
I am here in Moncton, and you should have seen it back when I was a little girl at least 3 times as high. The marsh build up over the years has slowed it down quite a bit.
For all those waiting to go, the urge is triggered by sound of the flushing of the longest trough urinal in the world. Now you can go. Think of what the fish have to go thru every day! Oh the river's on it's monthly period, here we go!

that's it?? come to Alaska and watch the 4 foot high bore tide come up the Upper Cook Inlet. it happens quite often. Most of the time it's about 3 feet high and you can surf it!!
Reminds me of a vid of the Japan tsunami, where it just kept coming in, and getting higher, and higher, spilling over the sea walls, until eventually everyone realized they should have built an ark...
The New Brunswick coast that is on the bay of fundy has the highest tides in the world and they change every 6 hours and 13 minutes. In some places the water either rises or falls over 8 feet every hour causing rivers to flow in different directions.
When I was a child my parents had a travel trailer and we visited the maritimes several summers. I found the Tidal Bore the most interesting of all the tourist places. Didn’t enjoy the Reversing Falls or the Magnetic Hill but the Tidal Bore was very enjoyable!
They sometimes do😊 its my home town! Its one of the longest waves ...comes in and out everyday, althought its not always this big, its the Fundy tides check it out!

I've recently been watching videos (in sadness and awe) of the Japanese tsunamis from 2011. Then this one appeared. Quite a different way to greet an incoming wave. I guess it's all relative.
The Bay of Fundy has the highest tides in the world and it causes two tidal bores that occur in Moncton, NB and Truro, NS twice a day. The bore always draws quite a crowd when it arrives as it signifies the arrival of a 160 billion tonne tide.
Darrren Betker just watching the mini waves go pass 😳....but I was hoping for something extremely outrageous.....but nope, that’s just a mini waves 🌊.....😂
It's just the tide coming in. the Bay of Fundy has the highest tidal bore on Earth, thanks to the moon. This is a normal every day occurrance, but tourists think it's special

It's a tidal bore, and yes, most people on planet Earth have never seen one! Pretty spectacular to witness the highest tides in the world changing direction.
Can you explain? The tidal bore is a natural phenomenon that occurs twice a day in the once endangered Petitcodiac River. The River is now well on it's way to restauration now that the Causeway has been removed.
Been there, thanks for the memory....New Brunswick is a great place to visit as are other parts of Canada 🇨🇦
Cheers

I started a wave once it was at the Indy 500....it must have gone all the way to here.
I’m confused as to why that was a big deal
I think it's the highest tidal bore in the world. Or at least north america or something like that
Super boring is a better title for this video

Why is no one surfing it?
Oh and some context would be a help, is it a monthly/yearly/??
Every 12 hours with the tide from Fundy bay. There are some surfers in the summer, but not with every bore.

Would have been better if it were full of ravenous giant crocodiles that attacked the onlookers.

Onto the next PAINT DRYING video.
Can someone tell me quick what this is thanks in advance
It must have puzzled the Natives seeing the river change direction time after time. I wonder what kind of wild story they had for it?
whale fart probally!!
That's why they became extinct, kept sacrificing their children to appease the river god.
Nah...they knew all about tides and that they are in sync with the moon.
