I've always found it funny how Elise died in the first movie and yet somehow she has managed to be in every one of these films. I love anachronistic story telling, especially when it's the result of a series that was written solely as a single stand-alone film retroactively written into a franchise. I swear Insidious is getting a little too Final Destination for my tastes.
Greenfire 317 Insidious 3 (1st film), Insidious 4 (2nd film), Insidious 1 (3rd film), Insidious 2 (4th film).... she meet the 2 guys in the 3rd movie & moved on with them in the 4th movie. I was an intern at Blumhouse while this movie was in post-production. The “sound effects” sin made me laugh because one of my first days as an intern I was pulled into a sound booth to do temporary voiceover for the demons and stuff. There was a whole list of things we had to say about a million times. Director: “Okay, now do it in a demon-y kind of voice” Me: “aRe YoU sCaReD oF tHe DaRk?” Director: “No, not like that... eh, whatever. It’s fine. Moving on.”
I was actually kinda freaked out by that closet demon when I first watched the film. But now I know that its just a reject teenage mutant ninja turtle, so yeah. Also, Darth Maul.
This video actually managed to jumpscare me. It wasn't from any part of the film but I paused it just before one of the loud sin bings happened and when I resumed it I really wasn't expecting it
Unlike The Further, The Just A Little Further doesn't have Comcast-quality static broadcasting TV sets, tour guides, Beyoncé concerts, or really important plot-advancing bibles, but it does have demons that actually kill people as opposed to just slapping them.
When I saw the father go up with a weapon, I thought he thought there was a burglar or an intruder but no, he went up there to beat the shit out of his daughter
7:06 Because that was actually a ghost!, the girl which stood there in the corner is the same girl who screams help her. but not the same girl who is locked up in the cellar. She has been murdered quite some years ago! Which is why she is indeed a ghost!
The plot of Insidious 1 and Last Key connects is explained in the last scene of Insidious 3's ending. Elise was followed by Lipstick face, out of the Further after helping the girl escape the demon who can't breathe. After following her around a bit, she opened the door for him into first movie so he stopped following her and started haunting the kid.
My favorite part is when Elise crawls into the (obviously a trap) tunnel to get the suitcase, instead of at least trying to pull it out with the conveniently attached string.
All the emotion we go through with Elise in this movie is undone when you reveal that this movie takes place directly before the events of the first film. And the reason that's a problem is because we know Elise dies in the first film. So you're telling me she went through this whole personal journey to come to terms with herself only to die the next day?
I like to believe the California, 2010 text was to avoid Cinamasins. Like if they said San Diego, California it would be used as an "as opposed to San Diego, Oklahoma or any other place without a San Diego" sin
The ghost hunters trying to hit on the girl was so unnecessary and made me uncomfortable. I hate when they try and throw a forced romance in a horror movie just to have romance.

squidhoney you say? Interesting though. Well the studios gotta work on a doable budget so they gotta cut on Screen time isn't..ex machina is an awesome machine
Actually, Deus Ex Machina dates back to ancient Greece which commonly had plays where everyone involved would fail so hard that a God would have to intervene to set things right, literally being lowered on-stage and being the mechanism by which a happy outcome happened. Lazy writing by todays standards, but at a time when a priesthood could put you on trial for heresy, punishable by death, for writing a play where people sort their own problems out _without_ recourse to Divine aid... well, you do the math.
2 things. 1, "Domino" guy from the 2nd movie was "Dice" guy. 2, yes, even though the whistle was a security blanket more important to her brother, the entire point of the whistle to begin with was that if they were ever scared/to scared to do anything, mommy would hear it and come to the rescue. EVERY TIME the whistle was blown, someone heard it came to help.
Also, at the end, when Josh's mother calls Elise to tell her about Dalton, she already knew what was wrong, yet she still sent Tucker and Specs to the house first to confirm that it was actually ghosts before she went herself.
Sorry for being late to the party. She didn't know something was wrong. She left the door open so the demon could get in there this way. She needed to confirm this
Wait, like, the entire series? Cause I'm not sure the sin counter could handle that kind of stress; they only just got it fixed up. Don't get me wrong, I love the Final Destination movies, they're great fun, but they are all kinds of counter-breaking sinful.
When Elise and everyone opened the red door and saw Dalton from the first movie, yeah there was no creepy monster like in the first one. Elise left the door open. It came in after her.

Though I wish it was just on a fictional person, I was all happy for Jackman for finally getting the go ahead for a musical of that kind of production quality... Too bad it seems it blows, crap main character aside.
I heard the musical set pieces are amazing... and that you end up watching being "eh" about the dialogue between the songs, but that everyone puts their heart and soul into every single musical number, and those are amazing...
Fun fact! I think the "ghost" in sin 25 is actually a weather doll (Teru Teru Bozu), which are popular in japan for bringing good weather. Then again, nothing suggested it wasn't a ghost but I like the idea.
Antonio Alvarez People still are. Although nobody really knows Aquaman is coming out I can guarantee that people will be excited to go and see it. People are also excited for Wonder Woman 2
I actually enjoyed the movie. I have watched pretty much every single relevant (Ricegum tbh) horror movie out there, and I have developed this superpower, witch allows me to predict jumpscares pretty well. But this one is different. They did some amazing jumpscares this time. I also really enjoy the "insidious" setting aswell. Great video tho :)
9:58 "I'm also na actress who isn't famous yet, so I'm perfect to keep this franchise going into the fifth chapter and beyond." This is why I love CinemaSins.
I love how in most movies he gets mad at the movies for giving us the city and the state like " we totally needed to know that Paris was in France, in case you confused it with Paris new Mexico " but here they only give the state and he still shits on it! Brilliant!
Lost that's because they're asking in what city, is it in a real city or is it in a fictional city, the difference between this and the Paris thing is because we know that Paris is in France, but we don't where in California these people are, California is a big state with many cites, these characters could be anywhere
Retro Core that's untrue, he did this for avengers age of Ultron and guardians of the galaxy too, and I know everybody doesn't know these places surprisingly
The "ghost" from 3:04 is a charm used to invite good weather. Especially useful in a car if a)you believe in that sort of thing, and b)you're driving for a while like they do here, because shitty weather makes the journey more difficult. However, since this is Florida, the charm may or may not have been necessary. Or maybe the dudes thought it was a ghost and used it because they're nerds with that sort of thing.
I like how Jeremy is complaining about how they weren't specific about Elise's location in California but if they put where in Cali he would just say, "In case you confused it with etc, California"
You never seem to be satisfied with location titles and I love it. If it's too specific you rip in it, if it's too vague you rip in it. Everything is wrong
This had an interesting story, but unfortunately nothing about it was scary at all and the concept was totally wasted. The whole kidnapping thing was really unique and I'm disappointed how wasted it was.
Beatrice Price The only thing that made the first movie scary was the music. If you take that out it’s just the same generic possession movie like all the rest. Although I will say the ending was pretty decent, however it was completely ruined by the sequel. The whole reason the ending in the first movie worked was because you were like ‘Shit, that ghost is going to kill Rose Byrne now’. But then in the sequel it’s like ‘No, he’s just gonna dick around in Josh’s body for days doing nothing remotely scary except holding a knife at one point.’
Yeah, the idea of a human adversary/villain was the best part of the film. I almost would have liked to have seen the entire movie revolve around that idea, with the spirits more-or-less helping the characters try to find and destroy the real-world threat. It would have set it apart from the other films. On the whole, I didn't hate *The Last Key* , because it did have some great ideas and stand-out sequences. But it was probably the weakest of the series. Hopefully the fifth film will course-correct a bit.
Really Jeremy...? "California 2010" " Ohh how are we supposed to know where she is in this huge state?!?!" CinemaSins has rules damnit!! You can't just run around sinning whatever you want and get away with it. Either you sin too specific of a location or you sin lack of orientation given when we open on a someone somewhere else. PICK A SIDE!!!!!! P.S. Love the videos. Big fan. Much love and respect to you two. I'm glad I'm not the only one nitpicking and analyzing movies as I watch them, even when my Mom tells me to stop... :)

I heard the musical set pieces are amazing... and that you end up watching being "eh" about the dialogue between the songs, but that everyone puts their heart and soul into every single musical number, and those are amazing...
"K Mart!!" IS THIS A RESIDENT EVIL REFERENCE I HEAR?!
“Don’t mind me. I’m just filling out my calendar with all the events and appearances.” - I had tears in my eyes from laughing 😂
Fun fact! I think the "ghost" in sin 25 is actually a weather doll (Teru Teru Bozu), which are popular in japan for bringing good weather. Then again, nothing suggested it wasn't a ghost but I like the idea.
"This is the most contrived romance since Hermione and Ron."
Literally lmao
Last time I was this early, people still looked forward to a DC movie
Antonio Alvarez People still are. Although nobody really knows Aquaman is coming out I can guarantee that people will be excited to go and see it. People are also excited for Wonder Woman 2
Stringer Productions We will see
The Nation like we saw Justice League didn't we
The only one I care for is Wonder Woman 2 and Flash. Aquaman will flop since no one cares.
Antonio Alvarez glorious
CANNOT WAIT FOR INFINITY WAR OMG THEYRE GONNA GO HAAAM
xXDragonite49Xx Gaming I don't feel so good

CinemaSins, I CHALLENGE you to do Scott Pilgrim Vs The World.
Alex challenge accepted
cinemasins: They really want u to focuse on keys
me: *sees the thumbnail* um... thats a key.
If this movie was about emotions, then could you call it *INSIDIOUS OUT?*
NOW IM AS STRONG AS A BAAARGE you’re a terrible person.
NOW IM AS STRONG AS A BAAARGE
I give you -1000 points for the pun!!! Your welcome.
Confused Gamer that’s being too nice
I don't get it.
Talal Munir
Inside out the movie about people's emotions
I actually enjoyed the movie. I have watched pretty much every single relevant (Ricegum tbh) horror movie out there, and I have developed this superpower, witch allows me to predict jumpscares pretty well. But this one is different. They did some amazing jumpscares this time. I also really enjoy the "insidious" setting aswell. Great video tho :)
That Hermione and Ron line was hilarious! Laughed for five minutes afterward. Lol!
9:58 "I'm also na actress who isn't famous yet, so I'm perfect to keep this franchise going into the fifth chapter and beyond." This is why I love CinemaSins.
I thought it was no makeup Blake Lively at first.
0:30
You guys missed a sin there.
Child draws creepy pictures or drawings in a horror movie cliché
13:26 - I don't remember Peter Parker being in this movie.
Guy Incognito f u lol
Plus 2 More Sins: The Ending from the 3rd Movie is still not explained! And still lots of question about the Further is not explained.
Shoutout to everyone else that watches CinemaSins rather than the actual movie
“He looks like someone who got kicked out of the teenage mutant ninja turtles” I lost it🤣
"Ah! K-MART!"
Holy shit, I spent the whole movie wondering where I'd seen her, you just solved the mystery for me
I love how in most movies he gets mad at the movies for giving us the city and the state like " we totally needed to know that Paris was in France, in case you confused it with Paris new Mexico " but here they only give the state and he still shits on it!
Lost ok
Oh my god they went A New Blood on this movie.
Los Angeles, California
Cinemasins: We know LA is in California no need for it! Sin!
California
Also Cinemasins: Not specific enough. Sin!
“Holy shit, that scene just gave me tinnitus.” 😂😂 9:29
The "ghost" from 3:04 is a charm used to invite good weather. Especially useful in a car if a)you believe in that sort of thing, and b)you're driving for a while like they do here, because shitty weather makes the journey more difficult. However, since this is Florida, the charm may or may not have been necessary.
Or maybe the dudes thought it was a ghost and used it because they're nerds with that sort of thing.
I like how Jeremy is complaining about how they weren't specific about Elise's location in California but if they put where in Cali he would just say, "In case you confused it with etc, California"
This movie puts Kingdom Hearts to shame with keys.
6:40 If you think that constitutes as foreplay, I feel sorry for your wife.
Hahahahahahaha
He keys his wife’s snatch?
That’s hot
Everything wrong with Sausage Party. ^^
no. period
Miky Dicy nothing
Starting with that title
Yessssss
Miky Dicy wasn't even funny the movie was just arkward food wanting and having sex
You guys should do "A Quite Place". That one was actually mostly good so it'd be more fun to poke holes in imo.
Will Kallao the insidious franchise isnt really scary tbh. It has great storylines and thats why they are hit otherwise they wouldnt have been
Beatrice Price The only thing that made the first movie scary was the music.
2:01 I call it "Tommy-Wiseauing"
Do the Last Jedi!
9:20 gives me life. Thank you, Jeremy.
Spooooooooooooooky logos
You stole my comment
8:11 ayyeee he was in the Get Out movie
Walter
(a.k.a. grandpa)
In honor of Verne Troyer, EVERYTHING WRONG WITH THE AUSTIN POWERS MOVIES!
7:17 you can see the recording mic above them lol..
For those of you asking how these movies keep getting made, for one, this isn't the worst franchise that could get sequels....
And Another Thing.....
All 4 movies COMBINED budgets: 26.5 Million
All 4 movies box office totals: $536,278,189
These movies have made over 500 MILLION DOLLARS on a 26 million dollar budget and this film alone made almost 150 million.
This is why.
