    I have to say Ayao Komatsu is doing a really good job in leading Haas as their new team principal atm. A technical kind of person leading this team is what they needed in order for them to have more understanding in developing their car during the season. I love Guenther as a person with his popularity in DTS but to me he didnt show that he is lead Haas in a right way in these last few years, no disrespect to him but thats just my realistic thoughts. However, its definitely not entirely his fault for the mess at Haas.
    In my opinion, Haas now needed a team leader who understands more on the engineering side of things and thats what Ayao Komatsu have the expertise throughout his F1 career within his teams. He is taking things in a right way and if the team can understood their directions with their upgrades to develop the car over the course of the season, Haas could be in a descent position to fight for more good points finishes this season or the future seasons. Also, Gene Haas not investing much towards Haas does impact the team's chances to progress forward with them lacking of resources so things need to change on Gene Haas's regards

    • @dividion

      Buddy ayao was in charge of car development as the head of engineering.

    • @mountainbikemayhem1833
      @mountainbikemayhem1833 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@dividion This is true…but not the whole story. He may have been the head of engineering, but to fully grasp the problem in its totality he needs data. Not just some FP1 long stints at race pace, but tons of data from a single track collected in different conditions. Say like spending 3 days at preseason testing doing nothing but race simulation. No soft tire ‘how fast are we’ running. Haas weren’t slow last year in qualifying…they just went backwards in the race because they were hard on their tires. I think they have kinda solved that problem, which is positive…now they just have to keep up on the development during the season.
      I’m not hating on Steiner, he got the team in F1 and fought hard for the team every day. He was doing way too much on his own rather than delegating. Why is it that HE had to be running around looking for sponsors so much? It seems like he was spending so much time keeping the team going, that he wasn’t focusing on moving it forward. I think him leaving was a good change for the team and for Guenther’s health…that much stress for that long can’t have been good for him physically.

    It’s the old school teacher idiom: “the more you talk the less you work.” Komatsu goes to the top of Haas and suddenly there’s less noise from the team. And the hard work is showing. They definitely know their place for this year, but expecting to be low means anything they do work up to puts them in a good light. Nothing bad about making an effort and not trying to sugar coat it.

    • @Dyils
      @Dyils 6 месяцев назад +7

      What hard work is showing bro, it's been 2 months since he's been TP... you guys are delulu if you think the car has changed much in that time. The culture? Sure. The strategy? Sure. But the car? Nope. Alpine, RB and Sauber all went backwards in performance this year AND there 2 DNFs last race... and now suddenly people acting like Komatsu is the 2nd coming of Christ. Wait half a season to a season and then judge. What you're judging now isn't Komatsu's work... that hasn't enough time to make much of a difference yet.

    • @mediumpete
      @mediumpete 6 месяцев назад +9

      @@Dyils Did I say or act like he’s the second coming of Christ? He’s just doing what an actual team principal should and focus on improving his team. Given that they’ve had such a run of crap results (barring Austria 2022 when Mick actually showed something that could have been a bit like potential) it’s pretty evident that for ages they’ve been “Guenther Steiner’s Gonna Say Something Stupid on Netflix F1 Team”. The culture has changed and maybe now Haas are thinking “well, the car’s crap but we can at least try” instead of “well, the car’s crap and so are we.” Does make a difference…

      More points for the team that people said should quit F1. If they can get it right and become a proper Ferrari junior team like Sauber was with Massa and Kimi where they finished 4th then the world's their oyster. I mean look at Sauber before they basically became Ferrari B in the 2000's. They were miles ahead of their rivals. But Sauber had a great engineering team around to engineer around the "old" Ferrari F1 cars they were basically running

    Well, they got one point with questionable tactics.
    True, in a historically tight field with insane reliability, that might be all they need to do to make step in the stabdings.
    But really I dont see it as some big miracle turnaround, Hulk is a beast in quali and was last year too, but in Jeddah he had the fortune that his teammate was prepared to be a rolling roadblock to keep him in a place that was out of reach for that car under normal circumstances over a race distance.
    I can applaud that and have no ill feeling abiut Haas, but this is by no means a sign of some genuine step forward. I doubt that will come until they become an actual constructor - customer components and outsourcing save money but they hardly ever these days deliver performance or predictable car development.
    And when even Alpine are qualifying closer to max than second row of the grid starters were to pole 20 years ago, the margins are tiny. All these teams are doing exceptional work and Haas being in the mix is nothing short of phenomenal but with everything on such a knife edge, real gains will come from robust development and as Sauber and others have shown iver the years - if its not really your car, its very hard to develop. I expect RB to have poor development too for the same reason.

    Not just HASS F1 to. The nascar team so far has been on an upward projection 2 of its 4 cars have gotten 3 top 10 finishes so far in the 1st 5 races. Highest is 19th in points. And the nascar owner tony Stewart’s drag car team has done well lately while Hass pipeline is on the up and up

    Don’t get your hopes up! Haas have a pattern of having decent starts to a season and then fall off before the halfway point in the season. I’m not saying that they won’t do better this season, but I know I won’t get my hopes up.

    Law, please, don't scatter your videos with too many Komatsus. Aio is doing a great job so far however mistakenly perhaps hard balling his stance with Scuderia regarding Olie for 2025. What you don't mention, is quite KEY. Olie Bearman is going to be a monster magnet for sponsors and Haas would be unwise not to begin rotating KMag out yet this season. Just look at the electrified ladies commenting for SkyF1 to get an idea of the size of the magnet. This boy is going to be a historic sensation of F1 to EXPLODE in quite a long time.

    The problem with big updates as we saw with Mercedes, if it doesn't work you lose a lot of resource and there's the chance it completely ruins the cars aero-performance or mechanics. With spaced out lesser upgrades you keep tweaking the car and if something doesn't work it's easy to drop back to a part that did. I think radical changes are for off-season when you've got time to fully assess them.

    Fairly sure I saw Magnussen leave the track to stay ahead of Tsunoda at one point. If that is the case that isn't "unsportsmanlike" that is cheating. There should be a requirement for drivers to give the place back in a very short time or be sent to the pits to serve a penalty immediately following that.

    Haas’ driver lineup is saving their ass, put in Mick & Nikita and they’d maybe have scored a few points last season.
