Eric Bischoff is 1 of 2 people responsible for giving me the absolute best era of wrestling outside of when I was a kid, I don't have to agree with everything he says but I sure as hell put heavy stock in his opinions. I have nothing but respect for him. He catches shade from the fans but few realize just how much and how hard that man worked to give us some great entertainment and memories. Tony would be smart to at the very least consult with EB and gather other educated opinions on the company, pitfalls to avoid, opportunities to pursue, etc.

But this is the same guy who paid Bret Hart $2.8 million in 1997, and then did NOTHING with him, then later said he never really thought Bret was very entertaining. Thats like a baseball GM paying a free agent among the highest paid free agents in the game. I think people realize that he was doing so much that the little things fans hold on to are like nothing to Eric. It's not that he forgets details, it's that he was running a company AND generating content and cant possibly remember minute details (to him) that are major misfires in the fans eyes. Not everything is gonna be golden and they were right more often than wrong till the end when they were wrong more often than right. In all fairness, towards the end, not EB's fault.

I love hearing how Bischoff has grown. (Admitting he didn’t understand how to pace his stories.) Sadly, he still hasn’t learned the error in having 10-12 key stars and the rest as supporting staff. They’re not supporting wrestlers, they’re the future talent. They’re the people who, when booked right, will rise up to be the next wave.
Like Eric, you started off talking about sitting down with Jericho. He didn’t break until he left your organization. Him, Guerrero, Rey Mysterio… all stars who you considered “supporting staff.”
Konnan: “We get old too soon, and wise too late!” Make that a shirt man! Start pulling in the Hallmark money along with your wrestling moolah.
