This has turned into a real beast of a trailer. Not surprised that a new axle is on the way, what with all the load that has been added. Nice.

Yeah I had to special order a 2000lbs axle for it...already installed! Since this video I have added a shower and now the tent has AC! Glad you liked it!

Looks like a grill with a tent .

Swing the ax head up 45' (\) to give you some room for the "T" pin. Nice build. Move the trasharou to the spare tire.

    Thanks Great Trailer

Hello Mostly Outdoors, I'm glad you liked my trailer! There is a video of me lifting the tent. It is titled "DIY Camping trailer 4" Go check it out and tell me what you think!

Can you give the details of the larger 4 lug x 4" wheels (which model car) and the spacers required to achieve the clearance?

The original axle allowed for 93 Corolla 14in wheels to fit that 4x4 pattern. The spacers required some shaving off of the inner diameter to allow them to fit over the axle hub (my brother in law is a machinist so he did this for me). I believed i used 2in spacers. When I special ordered my new axle, I didn't use spacers but rather grinded down the outer diameter of the hub. I wasn't sure if it would work but it turned out great. There was a lot of engineering involved in the car wheels fitting the axle. Your best bet is to have the wheels you want then buy the hubs that fit it, then send the hubs to a axle shop that can build you an axle that can take those hubs. Not even sure if that is possible but worth a shot...otherwise, a lot of patience and fabricating to make it fit like I did!

@@averagedadbuilds5813 Thank you. That is very helpful. I am an engineer and know what you’re saying about “highly engineered” solutions. I’ve decided to get 185/80-13 tires on 4 lug rims from eTrailer. Using 2” spacers. I’m just making an overland trailer for gear without a tent so it’s weight will be low. I was looking at larger tires strictly to add ground clearance. I’ve decided to add sliders under the trailer instead

Nice, I have a 3x4 i'm making into a modeler trailer for a boat and camping. Mind if I take a view points from your setup?
