      @@Good.FellersI know you like to run your saws a bit rich at about 38:1, as stated in a previous video. Is a good 40:1 premix fuel a good one? If so, would you recommend one? I'd appreciate it.

      Boring the heart out set the height of your back cut and it helps to have your back cut slightly higher than the bottom of your wedge. The hinge breaks off easily this way

    I have just recently started cutting walnut timber. I either spur cut or flush cut them. Have wedged a couple when needed. I feel like I am pretty good at sharpening a chain. But for the life of me I can't cut near as good as you with top of my bar. I will say our trees are real dirty in the bark. I mean you can see the sparks fly when cutting in the bark. I use semi chisel chain as I can't keep full chisel sharp.
    Do you have any pointers as to why I would having troubles cutting with the top of my bar

    • @Good.Fellers
      @Good.Fellers  11 месяцев назад

      Ya gotta run full chisel and ya gotta be sharp.
      What I mean that you may need to file a lot more often then u are now.i have cut in every situation and these are what i believe. Keep at it and you’ll get good at it. Can’t cut with top of bar like I do if chain isn’t sharp. I believe there’s no such thing as kinda sharp.

      @@Good.Fellers One more observation, two popular must have mods we see pitched on line are full wraps and muffler mods exiting straight out the front. THIS tree is more in line with what I have ( Hard Sugar Maple ) and I see this... a familiar feel. Imagine the SAME video with little pipes stuck out the front of the muffler or the muffler a goofy tube out past the bucking spikes AND a full wrap :) Log sale for me is tomorrow! And we have great weather for felling ahead. :)

    Keep mentioning fiber pull and hinge wood, but after cutting 95 % of holding wood out , there’s no hinge, or holding wood to pull. That’s why the tree rolled over at the end, and walnut violently flew off stump.
    Cutting like this , a matter of time before a tree sits back on bar and possibly takes out a saw. Or worse.
