I guess my big thing with all the new lights is two things and they are just my opinion.
First, I prefer lights that are simple to use without having to learn a lot of features. Think idiot proof, lol.
Second is how many lumens do you really need? 4k lumens look like the landing lights on a C 130, lol.
After saying that, I have several Olight flashlights and they are top notch. If you haven’t checked out their new mini keychain light that is held in place with a magnet and turns on when you remove it, you really should. I’ve had one for several months and carry it all the time, and use it frequently. It’s a game changer for me. Very handy and useful.

    More lumens = less runtime.
Less lumens = longer sustained runtimes.
I prefer a high lumen setting of no more than 500 lumens with these bigger 21700 batteries.
The smaller the light and battery, even more reduced runtime and lumen output.
Currently I EDC the Olight perun mini 2 and its highest setting before turbo is 250 lumens for 150 mins total. I don’t find myself running more than an 1hr so this is perfect. Surprisingly even with a 650mah 16340 battery it gets insane runtimes.
Moonlight: 1.7 lumens at 10 days
Low: 15 lumens at 26 hours
    Medium: 70 lumens at 7hrs.
    High: 250 lumens at 2hrs 30min.
Turbo: 1,100 lumens 2min then step down to 250 lumens at 85 min.

Awesome ty for that addition. There are situations, jostling hunting scenarios and of course survival where brighter is better. Video coming up on those scenarios. Great addition. Thanks again.

@@SurviveOutdoors I don’t disagree with that! More lumens is a big deal when the outdoors is swallowing up more area to light. I guess for me I’m just looking ahead 10-20 meters. The 250 suits me fine BUT I would like 500 lumens. At 270min or 4.5 hours that is a long time for the perun 2. I’m definitely looking at this light too.
Another thing that makes the mini versatile is how you can mount the light with 2 way pocket clip right into the headband with a cut out for the clip. If you’re not needing the headband… you can take the light right out of the headband mount and put it right into your pocket. The light is small enough that you hardly feel it.
But both lights are excellent. There’s not one over the other. They equally serve different roles and fill them well. 👍😊💯
