He started out with the light repertoire in which he did well. Here, my opinion, he lacks the squillo, the peng, which leads to hardly any excitement among listeners. Can be fixed by slight changes in his vocal technique.

I thought the same based on RUclips recordings, but I heard him live in Berlin last week... he has a very powerful voice, a lot of squillo. Unfortunately these recordings can't capture the excitement he creates in the house.
It was the most thrilling Cavaradossi experience for me, even Martin Muehle couldn't quite keep up in my opinion.
Grant yourself a ticket and go hear him live, it's worth it.

Really good voice, yet not his fach.... Not enough squillo to cut through the orchestra. Be careful with choosing your roles, stamina isn't everything.

Do keep in mind this is a recording :) I was in the audience that night (second balcony and very far behind, about 5 rows from the back wall), but my friends and I could all hear him perfectly well.

Was at two of these Tosca performances. The 14th and the 18th. This man’s voice CARRIES. With squillo! Beautifully tender, and with natural POWER. Love his interpretation.

I just saw Fabiano at San Francisco Opera in Tosca, I have to disagree, his voice is quite formidable and resonates over the orchestra. That being said, this recording does seem "softer." Perhaps its this particular interpretation.

I've heard from friends who heard him and said that his voice is actually quite big.

Michael Fabiano is on a very good vocal technical track. His voice will last for decades. These really good singers like him can sing focused, with pianissimos and forte fortissimos and with excellent technique get Puccinis intensions in his music forward to the listeners. Regards from a tenor in Norway, Europe.
