  • We take a look at preserved British Railway Riddles 4-6-0 Standard 5MT steam locomotives.
    Featured are:
    73050 City of Peterborough (built Derby, 1954) - on static display at the Nene Valley Railway
    73096 (built Derby, 1955) - in action at the Mid Hants Railway 'The Watercress Line'
    73129 (built Derby, 1956) - in action at East Lancashire Railway and Midland Railway Butterley
    73156 (built Doncaster, 1956) - in action at Great Central Railway
    A further member of the class survives at the Bluebell Railway.

    Hi, my name is Phil I fired a number of these locomotive in my time in my time on the footplate 8yrs on steam 50yrs on the footplate the first one I fired was 73165 on a special to London I finished my time out at longsight as a driver Regard Phil.

    Hi, very good video. I can remember my dad & I went to Butterley, but there weren't any trains running then. My dad died in 2004 of Parkinsons disease. Ian Thompson.
