    Omg, I had started a top almost 50 years ago, in some gorgeous yarn, top down raglan, stopped just before armhole, so maybe I can finish it...ttfn

    So so cute Chandi... I love the simplicity of this pattern, this definitely will be on my to make list. I've just finished my first crocheted cardigan (even though I've been crocheting for over 15 yrs) as the fear of the unknown is real... I am so grateful for your encouragement, beautiful words not to mention the gorgeous yarns and patterns... Thank you Chandi, Tim and all the Expression Fibre Arts family 🙋🏻‍♀️💖

    Thank you for making a video that encourages people to crochet garments. When I started crocheting I never thought about making sweaters (I can't even sew, why would I want to make the fabric myself and stitch it all together?), but after trying it they became my favorite type of project. The more makers who get the courage to do it, the more we'll get to see lovely new patterns like this one =)

    Chandi, just wanted to leave a comment what a helpful video this is for beginners. I'm advanced but love watching these because I may find a tidbit or two. This is an adorable little pattern. I've never worked with fingering yarn on a top before but am starting to because of the minimal bulk and beautiful drape. I'm very skin sensitive and need smooth and soft so I'm going to try your yarn. It looks heavenly.

    I tried my first crocheted sweater about 20-ish years ago when I was a college student. At the time I would have called it a disaster, but honestly the only problem was I didn't do a gauge swatch and it was about five sizes too big. It was a pretty hilarious moment when it literally fell down my body and landed around my ankles. Sadly, after that all I made for years were blankets and hats which I felt like didn't require as much attention to something like "gauge." lol This looks pretty straight forward, I think I'll give it a shot and not skip the swatch. :-)

    Chandi, Thank you!!! Thank you so much for making this video!!! I’ve been avoiding making a top of any kind because I have been so afraid that it wouldn’t turn out right... I didn’t want to work really hard and have something no one would be willing to wear when I was done... But you have given me the confidence to try it out... Thank you for explaining that this is a beginner friendly pattern, and the process that will help me to be successful... I really appreciate that... Your positivity and encouragement are contagious!
    I do have a question though... Is it possible after you have made this top to extend the sleeves longer if you need too? I will make it exactly like the pattern to begin with, and I could be pleasantly surprised, but I am usually more comfortable with sleeves that are almost to my elbows...

    • @ExpressionFiberArts
      @ExpressionFiberArts  3 года назад +1

      I'm so glad you love it! That's a great question, you can totally extend the sleeves. Just keeping working the stitch pattern around the sleeve opening (just like you did for the body). If you'd like to look up another fingering weight sleeve pattern as a reference for what shape you want, that would be a great idea. :)
