I love this shawl so much! I just bought this pattern on your website yesterday and I can’t wait to get started! I found some beautiful hand dyed yarn that I will be using. I can’t think of a more beautiful way to showcase such special yarn.
I want your closet of clothes- Always love your outfits and your videos are even better!! Thank you for such lovely tutorials.
Hi Laura, I'm so glad you like them! 💕
I’d been thinking of doing a shawl for a while and I just kept coming back to this one! It’s so beautiful!
me too!
Listening to you is great for self esteem thankyou for always making people feel better about themselves
😘💕
I have spent days trying to choose the perfect shawl to crochet with my new lush yarn. This is the one! Thank you.
You are so welcome! 💗
Love that! I just gifted myself a stenli cake and same here. It needs a worthy pattern and this is it.
I bought this pattern and made it with a gradient yarn, from charcoal to silvery white… and it’s gorgeous! I added a hood to it, as per request. The pattern was well written and very easy to follow… on top of being very affordable! Again… thank you for sharing!! 💜👍🏼
You're so welcome! Your shawl sounds gorgeous, and I'm glad you enjoyed making it! Thanks for the kind words.
Hi Chandi ~ I've scoured the Internet looking for just the right shawl pattern to crochet as a gift. I keep coming back to Adalia. It's just so elegant and perfectly fits what I had in mind. And is there anyone more elegant than you? I think not! I purchased the pattern but will follow the video too. Thank you for both! Happy Crocheting, Jeanne
Perfect, I hope you will love making it! ❤️
Love the shawl. I also love that you are crocheting with a pen hold and just a regular crochet hook.
I’ve never heard anyone but you call that a “pen hold” even though those who taught me to crochet over forty five years ago told me to “hold the hook like you’re holding a pen”! I’ve never seen anyone else hold the hook that way until now.
Thank you so much!
@@eneal2056 I learned to hold the crochet like holding a pen also. Over time though, I also crochet like holding a knife, depends on the way my hands react on the day I decide to crochet .
This is the first pattern I have purchased from you. I love how it is working up (even though I'm not using great yarn). I love how bubbly you are!
Yay, thank you! ❤️❤️
Finally bought the pattern and yarn… birthday present to myself. Hard decision to knit or to crochet… but I have loved this pattern for months. Next time I will knit. LOVE these videos.
Wonderful, happy birthday! 💕
The exquisite artistry of your entire video has brought tears to my eyes.
You are a fabulous teacher. Thank you for your gorgeous yarns and your clear tutorials. ❤
When you talk about crocheting it does show its an art !!!!
Love this! Planning a trip to Italy in the fall. Been advised to take a shawl for the plane, nights out and for visiting the churches. Can’t wait to start this!
That sounds like a fabulous trip! 💕💕
Your patterns are beautiful and this no exception! Im it with sock yarn in spring colors. So excited to work on this for awhile.
Thank you again.
Finished this shawl a few days ago, made it for my grandma who recently when into memory care. She’s going to love this! Getting ready to start another for myself! It’s such a beautiful pattern!
Hey can you please help me with the pattern! xoxo
What a sweet gift!. 💝
Such a great drape and the shape allows this pattern to stay on your shoulders. Its my goto wrap for these cool evenings
😍😍
I bought this pretty pattern yesterday and had to stop at row 15 because it was already midnight. 😊 Really enjoying it.
Wonderful! Glad you like it. 💕
Just finished it. I used one colour - a beautiful Breton blue in 100% linen yarn that I bought several years ago. I know it will soften with washing and time. Love the effect.
I just got started on teaching myself (and getting taught by the lovely content creators of RUclips) how to knit and I’m just in awe at how beautifully intricate creating clothing and other things is! It’s so cool how the yarn pulls on itself and makes the shapes it does in the final product, and I admire the ability to keep track of where things go-I get lost in all the little holes. 😅 I’m gunna commit myself to knitting for a while, but I’ll be watching a bunch of your videos as well to prepare myself for when I get into crocheting! I’m interested in seeing the different shapes and stitches firsthand. Thank you for the videos! ✨
❤️❤️
Thank you for sharing! I just downloaded this gorgeous pattern. Unfortunately I'm more of a visual learner and my mind is struggling to follow. Would love a pictorial, perhaps(?)
Please can I have the pattern pdf please ?
Me too …it took me hours to follow you and you show the rounds too fast 🥲
I want it in PDF, too! Thank you =)
@@lizanomura6430 ~ On YT, while viewing a video tap the screen and you will see 3 dots in the top R of the screen. Tap the 3 dots and a drop down menu opens. From that menu you can choose the speed of the video and you can change that choice at any time you want to even while viewing. There is also a closed captioning for different languages if the video you are viewing supports that option. I hope this was helpful ☺️
I love the way you just talk you make the project so much like a fairy tail to come to

I got the pattern, started working on it today, so far very easy to follow. Thank you for the tutorial and for sharing.

I love that this yarn is all plant-based. Such a beautiful shawl, and so deceptively simple!
Thank you! 😊❤️
What a beautiful shawl! I've got 3 rows and plus the fringe on the Boho shawl left to go. Thanks, I adore your yarn, patterns and you! Love!!!

Chandi, I actually made it and it came out so beautiful, thank you for sharing such a beautiful pattern. I am starting another one. I live in Pompano beach, Florida, so this yarn is perfect for our hot weather.

This is a beautiful shawl - thank you so much. And, thank you for the awesome words at the end of the video. I am going to remember those words when I hear those loud voices!

Oh Chandi, you, Tim, and your amazing team are SO appreciated! Your passions and talents are clear to everyone to see, and your energy, Chandi, is so vibrant and beautiful. I just downloaded this pattern. I appreciate the instruction, I usually use tutorials that go from beginning to end so hopefully I won’t have a problem. Waiting for this yarn, can’t wait to start!
Wonderful! Enjoy!
I think I will try this and practice, I prefer knitting but will try crochet and I love the pattern.
You’ll find it’s not as hard as you’d think. Good luck! I’m a crochet kinda girl but I have learned to knit thanks to Chandi! I just find it easier to crochet still.
Joni Smith I started with knitting so that is easier for me but I did teach myself how to crochet just need more practice and yes it’s easy so here is to trying a new pattern
Wonderful!
hi love this pattern can i use a category 1 yarn for this if so what hook would you suggest and how much wool i have 1000meters to use thanks
Yes, that weight would work well for this pattern. You'd probably use a US size E (3.5mm) crochet hook. The pattern has six sections and uses these approximate yardages: #1 (470 yds), #2 (50 yds), #3 (75 yds), #4 (65 yds), #5 (330 yds), #6 (200 yds): 1190 yards/1088 m total. You could make a smaller version to work with the meterage you have.
@@ExpressionFiberArts how would i make a smaller version??
This is the most gorgeous shawl ever and I love those colors!! Got the free pattern already! (thank you!)
Wonderful! You are so very welcome! ❤️❤️
Is the pattern free??
@@ishikadesilva3514 It's $5, not free
Another lovely project. You are so clear with your tutorials.Thanks. Take care!
Thanks so much 😊❤️
WOW! Of course, I just placed an order for ALL FIVE SKEINS! Thanks, Expression Fiber Arts Team!
Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy! 😍
Wow, I can't believe this is pretty much just double crochets! It looks so detailed and luscious, but seems like it would be super relaxing to make. Definitely on my list to create.
Also you have no idea how happy I am to see you release a plant based yarn. I don't use wool and have been hoping since I found your site that you would release pretty much exactly this blend since I adore both pima cotton and tencel. Now I can finally add some of your beautiful yarn to my collection! =D
❤️❤️❤️
Once again, I went to your site to get the yarn for this ... you have none under that category. This time I just dropped my head and laughed 😄! Thanks!
You could certainly use any fingering weight yarn to do this pattern: expressionfiberarts.com/categories/fingering.html I hope that helps a little!
What attracts me most are the colors you used for the pattern. I'll just keep checking back, and hopefully you'll have the yarn that matches. 🌸
Thank You!
What a beautiful pattern. You explain it so well. Thank you for sharing it.
You’re welcome 😊
AMAZING!!!!!!!!! Thank you for being such a GREAT TEACHER!!!!!
Everything about this woman is amazing!

Perfect timing! I hope you enjoy it! ❤️❤️😍😍💕💕
The shawl is a beauty!! Thank you so much and for your channel!
You are so welcome!
Can you please sow us how to do this and other easy patterns with one color. I just am to new to crochet to change colors right now. I'm trying g to figure out the Satis shawl in one solid color but so confused on reading printed directions
In row 48, has anyone noticed what might be an error in the written pattern? After the repeat of (ch1, sk1, dc) 177 times, it says "ch1, sk1, 2sc in last dc" shouldn't that be 2dc?
We haven't had any errata reported for this pattern, but if you'd like some assistance with it, just send us an email at info@expressionfiberarts.com
So lovely!! And crocheted too!! I knit and crochet. It's fun to see a semi-circular crocheted shawl pattern. Thanks Chandi, Tim and EFA team for all you do!!!

What a beautiful shawl! It would surely make me feel special. Thanks so much to the designer

Hi i downloaded your pattern i made one, this is just so beautiful and so easy.I loved the way your pattern is written it is just so simple i love it...i love the way you make your videos.
Thank you so much! ❤️
hi chandi! may I clarify what does the note after row 40 of portion 1 mean? "Break color A, join color B" this note is indicated every after each portion/section. Do I need to cut the working yarn upon finishing the last row and then weave the end?
Yes, correct! You've got it! ❤️
if I want to make it bigger/longer which portion should I repeat/do you recommend to repeat before I do the last portion for the edging?
I made this in pinks and off white with beads and fringe I love it 😻
I bet that is absolutely beautiful!

Hi Chandi ~ My Adalia shawl is almost finished and it's gorgeous. I have a question about finishing. Should it be blocked with the straight edge straight, or curved as in the diagram that comes with the pattern, and does it matter? Thanks! Jeanne
Hi Jeanne, thank you for your question. That doesn't really matter, whatever you prefer will be perfect and your very own creation. I hope this helps. Have a lovely weekend. 💕
Thanks for getting back to me Chandi ~ I hope you have a lovely weekend too.

I am basic knitter 😌 who loves to knit, still learning.
You are welcome 😊❤️😍 Enjoy!
So pretty! I love the shape.
Thank you! Cheers! ❤️
Love this yarn, but not sure about a suitable alternative in the UK.
I have started the easy triple crochet triangular shawl, using DK with a tinsel strand, so it's not bad, tbf.
Absolutely stunning design.... Ur look gorgeous as always... ❤❤❤ definitely gonna make one

It's so magnific....i love it.... it's my favorite time on the friday night. Chandi its my best friend.... yeeeeeey. Love you 💐🥰😘
Thanks, my friend! I love you too! 😍😍
I wish i can understand patterns but unfortunately I can’t. I have to watch videos to make my patterns. Quick question how many grams i need to make this shawl. I have about 300 grams of yarn hopefully that amount is enough.
We used 300 grams to make this shawl. ☺️
I've been working on learning to knit. I find it hard but I like the result, even mine. ( I'm becoming an expert at frogging.) I have to make this shawl though. It will be like taking a vacation from knitting. I've also been looking for a crescent shaped shawl pattern and this fits the bill perfectly. ps. I"m sure your trying to make peoples day a little better but I"m here to tell you it's working "beautifully"!
Thank you so very much! I appreciate the lovely compliment and I hope you enjoy the pattern. ❤️
...Shandy. 💕👍🌞 High character, and the others mentioned are only accomplished by CHOICE, AWARENESS of an individual's in intention.....but, thanks for your encouragement to these aspiring character traits

Just purchased the pattern! Hopefully it turns out well 🙏🏼 I’m very excited😁
Hope you like it!
Thanks!!! for sharing, it very beautiful 💖😊
My pleasure 😊
I don't really mind buying a pattern when I'm able. I'm not able at the moment and very frustrated. I wouldn't have started the piece with your video if you had given that information at the start of the video. It's a beautiful shawl. I'm disappointed I won't get to complete it.
She did say, after her little intro about the yarn, that she was only going over how to get started and how to work the cluster stitch.
I will buy it for her. Yes I love Cindy’s great personality as well!!
Im in the same boat i wish it was more direct in the start and im glad i saw this comment before i started...
It came across more like a repeat pattern :(
@@tracyvisionthank you.
The pattern for this is free on her website.
so beautiful ths shawl................ i want its full tutorial..... how i will get???

Hi , I m trying to follow your Adalia shawl pattern: the 4th row of the cluster stitch I couldn’t follow. The start of the row. Plz explain
I tried but it doesn't seem like 😕 I thought so not good explanation I gave up
What seems to be the challenge?
@@ExpressionFiberArts
The start of row 4. Do you start with 3 double crochet before starting the cluster?
@@kdafone9874 I don't believe there is a cluster stitch in that row - you just start with a chain 3 which counts as a double crochet and then 2 dc in that same stitch. :)
Stunning. Thanks for another beautiful shawl pattern.‼🧡🧡👍
You’re welcome 😊😍
How much yarn did it take you to make this one?
We used about 1250 Yards. Here is the link for all of the details for you: www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/adalia.html#product-tab-description Thanks!
You could not be any cuter even if you tried. Thank you so much and continue to stay HOT (Humble Open Transparent). Love this pattern keep them coming!
Thank you so very much! 😊
Chandi, with the yarn i'm using it's coming out smaller. What sections should i repeat at the end? And the increases? Any suggestion? Tnks in advance😊
Hi there, unfortunately, there is no good way to make the Adalia larger w/o re-writing the entire pattern. The only way is to use a larger hook or thicker yarn. I'm very sorry about that. Have a great day! 💚
@@ExpressionFiberArts thks for your prompt reply! Understandable... an excuse to make another one!!!!
Hi Chandi My question for you might sound silly for you but since this is my first attempt to read crochet pattern,Please bare with me Row 4 my understanding is, after the chain3 I need to put 2 more dc in the same chain, then after that is one dc for each of the following chain, then 2 dc in the fourth chain.* 1dc for the next 3chain then the following chain need to put 3 dc *,3 more times.I am familiar with crochet lingo. really appreciated you guidance. Thanks It is so easy to understand when you said i while you crochet in your tutorial.
Because the pattern notes in Row 2 that the "ch 3 (counts as 1 dc now and throughout)," in Row 4 the ch 3 is your first dc, and yes, you then need to dc twice into that first dc.
Then for the next 3 dc, you dc into each. Then you make 2 dc into the next dc. This entire sequence is then repeated 3 times.
Finally, for the next 3 dc, you dc into each, and make 3 dc in the final dc.
I hope that helps to clarify. If you're still having trouble, you may wish to try a simpler pattern for your first attempt at reading a crochet pattern, and then return to Adalia when you're more comfortable with patterns.
I truly appreciate not only your skilled as a teacher but patient. Have you considered giving tutorial of understanding crochet pattern class.? since you are so clear in explaining. I'm sure there will be a lots of people wanted to sign up. for a fee of course.Again thank you so much.
Love, love, LOVE you!
Aw, thank you!
