An interviewer who is asking intelligent and interesting questions? Am I in heaven?
This movie deserved so much more than a 6.8 but I feel it was so provocative and extreme it was a shock.
he took a risk, i thought overall it was great! The idea is awesome, but i guess everyone doesnt understand it. "Narrow-minded people"
I just want to hang out with him. He seems like the most awesome person to talk to.
I was so surprised that such a young guy would end a movie like Don Jon the way Joesph Gordon-Levitt did. How does a man as young as he is, make such a bold statement about sex?
It's something that has been discussed by young men of this generation a lot. It's a common theme since pornography has never played such a vast part as it does now, and there's different points of view on it. Good movie, made a great point

***** you said that because he is 32 ''he's not young by any means''. well, being 32 doesnt make him old. and as Kazikox said it is rare to see it in a young person because being wise requires experience, intelligence, curiosity, reflection, perception, selfreflection etc.
Kazikox where are you from? in my experience young men in my country mostly refuse to talk about it more than exchanging web sites etc.? by young men i mean men up to 26-7 years old. also in my experience men over 40 tend to have a very different point f view and take on the subject...

This was a great interview. I think a lot of people misconstrue 500 Days of Summer and Joseph Gordon-Levitt summed it up perfectly.

WOW i love Jake's take on these interviews - it's such a refreshing spin from the generic questions interviewers usually ask. Some of the them even require an extra moment of thought from the actors... which makes the conversation a lot more enjoyable and interesting for them.

JGL is AWESOME. Seems like a really nice cool guy and his acting ability is way beyond I thought he would ever go. I am very impressed with his work. He is becoming one of my favorite actors lately. Once I heard about this movie and how he directed it and wrote it and stuff it is a must see for me.
This is a great interview for an actor and the movie. Besides trying to add in different questions as with most interviews are, Joe actually shared more opinions and philosophies about the expectations we create for ourselves in our minds just by using real life and tweaking the little factors we don't want so that it can match up to that fantasy. But in truth, messing with all those unwanted things that go on in our life is very tricky and are better off left alone with a lesson to learn from it. :) :D

And while it's sometimes easy to compare our lives to these sort of simple stories, these fantasies that we enjoy on screen, that's what they are; they're fantasies. And they don't map onto real life. And if you compare your real life to those fantasies, you're gonna set yourself up for being disappointed. The truth is that real life is much richer than that."

I love how every interview ends with Jake getting up and leaving and the actors just keep sitting there. I always like to imagine they just sit there for the rest of the day in silence. I don't know why that's funny to me.

Its because he interviews them at a junket, so the actor waits while a new interviewer comes in. They probably do around 20 different interviews for different sites n junk.
Which is why its refreshing to see actors putting effort into his/her answers despite having to answer so many.

This movie was awesome. It really pointed out the way men think about women and how women think about men. And how they both can learn lessons from thinking about the other person instead of themselves. And it was funny and shocking and warm and inviting and just plain interesting.

He directed Looper? Holy shit, that was the best action movie i've seen in a while. The way he talks, his ideas and morals...i respect him now even more.
No, he starred in Looper. His old friend Rian Johnson (director of Brick, The Brothers Bloom) cast him in the lead role because of their experience working together on Brick.
