Beyond my family, perhaps the most influential people in my whole life were the kind souls who guided me through a blessed and weird adolescence as I acted on 3rd Rock From The Sun. John Lithgow taught me so much about being funny, being an artist, being a leader, and just being a good human. Now we’re doing a HITRECORD project inspired by his new book, #TrumptyDumpty Wanted A Crown, so if you feel like doing some acting, reading some rhymes, delivering some dark political satire against a despotic president that deserves to be dethroned, come jump in...

Being isolated as an chronically ill woman and feel like giving up, started watching the whole show again and it filled my heart with pure joy. I can't thank you guys (the whole crew ofcourse) enough for making me laugh hysterically. Even makes me fall in love with the silly human race all over again. I love you guys ❤

Same! I have the best memories of all sitting around the TV and watching 3rd rock! I was the youngest of the family and I'm sure didn't get all of the jokes, but I had a major crush on Joseph and I loved hearing my dad laugh is big laugh. I'm going to see if I can stream the episodes anywhere, I'd love to re-watch.

John Lithgow in the scene with Tommy practicing with his band in the garage and the High Commander comes in and recites the 'rock music is the devil's work' speech from Footloose made me laugh so hard. Too damn funny.
I loved the times they referenced his movie roles. Like when he danced to Lets Hear It For The Boy while watching an exercise program.

3rd Rock is truly one of the most outrageously funny shows ever to come on network tv. This is a show that reminds me of Seinfeld but with aliens. The way they are so out of touch with other humans is like how the Seinfeld 4 are out of touch. Love how the one grownup was Tommy. Remember the episode with the baby and Harry spits all over the baby? The one where Dick is in the middle of church and says "I am your savior." If memory serves me right.
By the way......”I’m.......GORGEOUS!”..........most favorite line of all time.

Except the Solomons were well-meaning characters who were always learning. Larry David's rule for Seinfeld was "No hugging, no learning."
grecomic interesting. Both groups seem to be completely outside of the people around them. And each group go against social conventions. Of course there are some differences but the creatirs both play games with what people expect. I have a feeling if they were both transported to each other’s locations, they would still not fit in well, but for opposite reasons. The Solomons would be overly eager in New York and Seinfeld would be overly aloof in Ohio.

Life is so much harder now, so filled with worry, hate and violence. People are connected to the internet and their devices, people are rarely connected with one another...I miss that terribly. 3rd Rock seems like a simpler time, a time of calm, less vitriol; and freedom.

I re-watched the entire show at the beginning of the pandemic. It kept me sane during the early days before I knew what to do with myself.

Third rock from the sun!!! The 90’s at some of its finest! I could spend hours talking about how much I’ll always will love this show! I live in Sweden and they would show this late at nights here, I stayed up secretly on school nights just to watch this awesome group of people! One of my favorite scenes is when Tommy and Harry is taking care of the baby who doesn’t like the food they’re giving him, and all ends with Harry spitting the food in the baby’s face. The chemistry between all of you were amazing! I wish we could have that time back! #myundyingloveforTommy
I had almost all episodes on tapes. It was my favorite show.
Also that baby scene was improvised by French. You can tell from Joseph's reaction it was completely random. It was the funniest thing I'd seen in years 😅

This is such an easy, warm conversation, I wish more "interviews" were like this. Man, you covered all the material, no elephants or mice left in the room, and yet so succinct and enjoyable. Well done. Keep it up, both of you gentlemen!
I couldn't get enough 3RD Rock when I was a kid. For my 16th Birthday I got the 3D special with the glasses and holographic VHS box. I still have both, but haven't had a VHS player for 20 years!
You can find them for cheap in pawn shops. Kinda cool reaching old vhs

I wish I could express my eternal gratitude to both of these great comedy giants. The laughs over the years have been such a blessing.
3rd Rock From The Sun got me through my father dying. My whole world was falling apart not much could make me laugh during this time of my life. It broke my heart my father passed away in 2001 and that was the year 3rd Rock ended. I now own all sesons and beng watch them.
I am also going to live 10 more years from all the laughters from that show! Best reunion ever :)

I just adore John's voice. It's almost making my cry just thinking about it. I think it must be because I loved the film Harry and the Hendersons so much as a kid. I still rate it! And 3rd Rock was also awesome. So lovely to see these two together again ❤️
3rd Rock was a genuinely delightful, and heartwarming show. It was such a joy to watch, even though I was younger when I saw it, I always looked forward to seeing it on TV.

John Lithgow is literally the best: classy, genious, dramatic, theater, comedian actor, cultured, refined, loving, funny, writer, painter, extremily smart, artistic, poet, etc. He should have a podcast.
Joseph Gordon is very much similar in those ways to JL.
It was my favourite show and my gateway drug to sit-coms! Best show ever! This was so awesome to watch! The book sounds awesome and even more awesome is that John has done his own illustrations! Now I want to get a copy!

Joe! I have to say that I'm entirely impressed with what you and John had done. You basically enacted an artivism (art+activism) project with community empowerment in such an excellent way! I'm currently finishing my master's degree in researching artivism movements and the various projects enacting artivism. Seeing this project (and others you inspired from this and John's work alone) warmed my heart. This is amazing work.

And now my life is complete! I was gutted when third rock ended. Me and my mum used to watch it every Thursday and it was wonderful. I’ll always remember the scene when Tommy broke down in tears in the last season in the kitchen when it hit him he had to leave. Great to see you guys together 😀
One of ABSOLUTELY the funniest, most hilarious shows that has ever been on TV. I loved it then and the reruns are even funnier. I want to buy the videos so I will always have access to them. Everyone in the cast should have received an Emmy every single season. Nothing on TV today comes anywhere close...a great ensemble cast. I would love to see a real reunion show.

I worked crazy long hours when the show was on the air, but really enjoyed the few times I was able to see it. It's great to see actors extend their creative ability beyond the camera and theater.

One of the all-time best shows!
To this day my now 20 yr old son does the Alien Salute to me when I ask him to do something, and my eldest daughter refers to my ex-husband as "The Big Giant Head".
When we watch T.V. and a certain U.S. Commander the Creep comes onto the screen, we are not above pointing and exclaiming, "Alien! A L I E N!" a là the great Kathy Bates.
When my foster son was in junior high, he was complaining to me about "life" in dramatic fashion. One of the other kids quietly put in a 3rd Rock DVD and played the episode where Tommy complains about being stuck inside the body of a teenager with a "constant circus" in his pants.😆😆😆
It worked- we ended up watching several episodes, and all our troubles melted away.

Wish I could thank all of them for the show 3rd rock from the sun. I still enjoy all the season's. Being 41 myself, tv shows nowadays have way to much politics and jokes aren't allowed anymore, unless you want a group of lunatics searching your twitter to try and get you fired. That's why when I'm watching 3rd rock, I'll literally start the from season 1 and watch thru the finale and than restart at season 1. Never get tired of it. Such great chemistry and just a great show period. I'm still there watching when I get home from work. Thank you guys
When I was in rehab hospital after a car accident that broke my back I couldnt move my legs.. One night I had a dream that I was walking along a sidewalk and up ahead there was Joe with long hair standing next to a fence with a fluffy white dog on a leash.. as I approached he said "look at you! Walking already"! For a second I believed it.. Then I woke up. 😝

I was so pregnant when I decided to play it in the background for doing art and I was painting in just thinking about my picture when I started to hear this more and more carefully and I total laughed hard and I loved it for it ! I love to laugh and be playful and this show was absolutely amazing. Ans It got me into more of a comedian funny art/self expression persona ans it's truly an amazing transformation! I'm happy for this short clip of them getting together and spreading their experience I loved it !!
