  • I was at a friend's sale that went out to the club members. He had purchased a collection of about 900 kits. Every collection always has those kits that are started, missing parts or just parts kits. Some worse than others. You never know what you are going to find!

    You where "definitely" at the right place at the right time! Bernie sounds like the "Go To Guy!" That putty looks to be the old school stuff, I would try a good soak in the purple or whatever stuff. Great video as always. Thank You for sharing. Take care, Be Safe, God Bless, Later

      Thanks! The Super Clean did take it off with little problems! It actually turned out to be a nice body even though the hood is molded shut. It's not perfect but nicer than I was expecting.

    Very nice score. The color of the putty on the fever bee body has me thinking that it is the old AMT putty that came in some of the customizing kits in the 60's. The one bucket seat that was in the coronet box , is a custom seat from the coronet. The 68 issue of the coronet also had the same custom bucket seat. Thanks for showing these great old kits

      Thanks. The putty was removed by the Super Clean. So no issues with that. Thanks for the seat info.

      Thanks. Yes it was a great find. It’s funny how it works. When I was trying to find stuff like this I couldn’t, but I can’t tell you how many times I have purchased a rebuilder project. Then a better one comes around at a better price when I’m not looking!

      Yes, he did. There was three I was after from his email pics, but those were gone when I got there Saturday Morning. I still walked out with 4 others that I didn't need.

      Yes. That takes up quite a bit of space. A good chunk of them were still sealed. That makes it easy as you don’t have to check them.

      Me too. Harts parts resin does make the parts to convert the Revell/Monogram 69 Six Pack Super Bee into a Coronet RT.

    For the automotive putty you can use Methoxypropanol TM

    • @TheMuscleCarModeler
      @TheMuscleCarModeler  2 месяца назад

      The Super Clean removed the putty with no problem but wouldn’t touch the blue paint. So I stuck it in 91% alcohol and that took the blue off in 5 minutes!

    something you might find useful is a set of ear wax removal tools they are usually a set of stainless steel tooth pick sized spoons good for scooping, spreading and prying on a tiny level, i think i paid $4 off temu for mine

      Thanks. I didn’t want to damage any plastic as there are some fine details that could be hidden under it. I did push on the filler that was pushed through the tail lights and it did break free. But I did see some damage in the plastic. The good news is the Super Clean did remove the filler and now I can see all of it! It’s not perfect but better than I was expecting!

    That chrome air cleaner looks like a Ford part. Maybe from the AMT '65 or '66 Galaxie kit?

      Looked Ford to me also and is now sitting in my started 69 Cougar XR7 box as that kit had no stock air cleaner!
