The gun play is top notch and they went ham with the skill trees would be better if we had more. VH playables but they’re all really awesome voice acting and abilities. Would have liked 1 more tho. The guns are incredible and you can make some super unique builds. I picked it up for the switch it’s so much fun haven’t played in over a year

I recently got a ps5 and jave been replaying the game with load times that arnt 10 mins. Its been a blast.
Thanks to this video, I ended up buying a steam key for $25 for the ultimate edition. It’ll be my first time ever playing this game so the hype is real! Keep up the good work man

Even though the game story is the weakest part of Borderlands 3, they did get one thing right. We only have to play the story once to get to end game. In other Borderlands games, we played through the same story 3 times to get to end game. Glad they didn't force us to do that in this game.
I agree the gameplay and the gameplay loop in this game is much better than the previous titles.

@@levicarpenter5509 to get to Op levels you need to play normal, True vault hunter, and ultimate vault hunter mode. 3 playthroughs to get to end game content, therfore "forced"
They absolutely did force you if you wanted to reach endgame, you know, arguably the most important part? In BL2 you had to go through the story 3 times with each VH, so 18 times *minimum* if you wanted each VH at endgame.

@@Ibrimstone No, but if someone genuinely tells me these stories were "good" i'd have to disagree, its always been corny with a side of edge and thats the best part.
@@Ibrimstone he has a point. When compared to other video games, the borderlands franchise as a whole doesn't have a good story. It has a lot of *lore* via side quest and echo logs which helps with world building. But the story only experience isn't anything special at all.

I can’t believe it’s been 5 years. I remember being so hyped for this and it came out in such a crazy point in my life, a few weeks into first semester of college, my life was a whirlwind of new experiences and this game was there along the ride. I always enjoyed the game but playing it again for the first time since launch I think I have more appreciation.
The story was a little disappointing but to this day I still don’t quite understand the level of vitriol that a lot of the criticism has. The core gameplay is still amazing 5 years later, everything feels so punchy and snappy, the VH skill trees are great, etc. honestly if you just tune out 75% of the echo logs and noise of jokes and cringe then it’s still a great game. Maybe that sounds bad but I always have sort of done that with these games unless it’s Handsome Jack. Which reminds me, yea. The Calypsos fucking blow. No way around that one. Absolutely horrible characters.
That being said I think I’m ready to be done with the game after I finish it this time around. Never played any of the dlc or endgame so I’m looking forward to it. As good as a game as it is it just doesn’t have that magic that makes you want to play it over and over and over again like BL2 did. Maybe it was lightning in a bottle, who knows, but I 100% am looking forward to BL4.
I would want for BL4
-Bit more of a serious story. BL will always be cringe and goofy but BL2 had real emotions and a bit of rawness to it. The way Jack goes from dismissively viewing you as an irrelevant nuisance to fucking hating your guts was great. He kills Bloodwing, shit gets serious, you kill his daughter, shit gets serious, he kills your leader, shit gets serious.
-Which sort of gets into my next point. I want the VHs to have more of a sense of agency. You will always be ordered around by whoever’s around as the leader of the Crimson Raiders but in BL3 the whole story and conflict is pretty much just Lilith vs the Calypsos with the player basically just serving as a proxy to do the dirty work and fighting on Lilliths behalf. She’s clearly the protagonist of the story and it leads to the “Talk to Lilith” meme where the story is just not allowed to progress or develop at all unless it’s through her. Youre not even really involved in or the focus of any of the major story events, fights, or deaths. In BL2 the VHs took shit into their own hands. Roland’s dead, Lilith captured? Make shit happen, bring the fight to Jack, kill that motherfucker. In BL3 the whole ending and saving the world comes down to Lilith.
-DLC VHs. No idea why they didn’t do this for 3. It seems minor but it was such a huge disappointment. Adding a new skill tree to each character is not a valid replacement. It takes 5 minutes to respec and explore the new tree while a new character gets you itching to get back into the game all over again.
-Please, actually build upon story that was set up. TFTB and TPS left the story in such an interesting place with so many potential threads to explore moving forward and BL3 barely touched any of it. At this point it’s been a DECADE since stuff like the Watcher talking about the War, Fiona and Rhys going into the vault, Gortys, etc and we still don’t know anything about the follow up. You almost get the sense that Gearbox is like, bitter or dismissive about any of those story threads because it was made by other, let’s face it, better writers.
Bl3 is amazing. Bl1 is probably my favorite, but bl3 fixes almost all the things i didnt like about bl2. All the improvements that game had but a much better balanced experience.

Everyone should play 3 & all its dlc until 4 comes out sure its noware near as much content as 2 & 1 play those 2 ther great but dont moxxi underdome ull lose sanity
Me and my girlfriend have been playing through all the Borderlands and we are on BL3 DLCS now, been fairly fun. The dlcs are significantly better than the main story. Played bl3 at launch but never did any of the dlcs until now, would say it's worth playing.

I hate the story... I hate it! But it has Moze, who is hands down the most powerful vault hunter gearbox ever made so..... yeah, I play with my iron bear from time to time. I wish it had the same feel as 2.

Borderlands 3 is easily the most fun in the series. Sure the story is pretty bad and too long imo but you only have to do it once per character which is a huge improvement over bl2 where you had to play the story 3 f*cking times to get to endgame.
started completly new last week because i converted to pc and havent played it in a while and yes you should still play BL3, absolutely fantastic game, already put 60hrs into it

I'm not super familiar with Doom but I can tell you the gunplay in Borderlands 3 is the best part of the game.
Believe it or not, borderlands gunplay feels even better than doom. (Ive put extensive hours into both) and the progression with the skill trees and the amount of different guns makes it more satisfying of a game imo
The gameplay of BL3 is top notch add ontop of it quality of life mods and you gave your a fun ass experience.

BL3 is my favourite. Yes the story isn't the best by far and Eden 6 is a drawn out grind. Still the gameplay, dlc, build diversity and endgame is the best in the Borderlands franchise.

BL3 is great. Still playing it. But I'd wish Arms Race was extended. At least other maps. Also different marking of AR legendaries on minimap would be nice. But my personal improved Arms Race vision is progressive maps: when you finish first map, you can send one item to the next map, then 2 items when transition to 3rd map, and so on. Each next map could be slightly more challenging and contains new loot, not available on previous ones.
Are there any guides for BL3 modding? :)
I think the biggest missed opportunity for Arms Race was the fact that the skill tree was banned. Because Arms Race was added in the same DLC that added 4 new skill trees, it would have been super cool if enemies had a chance to drop "skill orbs" that would allow the player spec into specific skills your VH had, allowing you to explore the new skill tree as well as using skills and unorthodox builds that you wouldn't have used otherwise!
@@TheBlackAbyss1 skill points are very problematic. They need thinking where to apply and when you are time limited that's not a very good tree exploration experience. Even Battleborn helix tree was criticized as not easy to apply (though I liked it) in between battles and it was way simple than any BL3 tree, which has 4.

I love the borderlands games, bought every single one of them, completed them all but I went back to borderlands three after completing Tiny Tina! Have just started playing Tiny Tina again recently, and I think they’re all great games, with the exception of the Space version on Borderlands two I think it was, I didn’t like the fact you could run out of air, apart from that all brilliant!!

Honestly didn't even know there was a borderlands 3. After how terrible 2 was I just quit paying attention I guess. BL1 is one of the best first games in a franchise I've ever played.
BL1 is like SC Brood War, each character was so strong and unique and fun.
BL2 is like SC2, each character is just blah and they nerfed everything and it's all kinda samesy.
I'll have to check out BL3.

At release played on pc. Recently decided to start new on the PS5 and it's still a total blast.
B3 was, and continues to be, an utter disaster. B2 is far superior in seemingly countless ways. This is what happens when the creepy Gearbox chief Randy P(r)itchford screwed over and lost the talent that created the early Borderlands games. I won't be buying B4 anytime soon after release.

The Hermi-Vermi fight has to be one of the toughest boss fight in the game. Two raid bosses at once in an arena with no place to hide.

That's actually pretty easy fight. Hag is much tankier and soooooooo annoying with all the screaming lol
I just fought them with an already fleshed out melee Amara (no gun, just melee and action skill) and I one tapped both of them with my phaseflare.

I tried to play Borderlands 2. I played it for a decent amount. But I just seemingly can’t get into it, and I don’t understand why.
Maybe I just don’t like FPS, since the gun gameplay just feels like a chore to me. Maybe it was because I played splitscreen the entire time. Maybe it’s because I felt like there were too many guns. Maybe it’s because shooters on console just doesn’t work. Or that I just couldn’t follow the story.
But I won’t lie that I’m tempted after I saw the trailer for Borderlands 3 just now, as it was free on PS4.

I'm sorry, this is a great video, but all I hear is "loot". Is there anything else that's appealing about these games other than just getting loot? I could see myself having fun for a little while, but after the novelty wears off, I feel like I would stop caring about getting more random loot. I feel like I would get bored very quickly
The core gameplay loop is all about improvement. Creating a build, testing it and hunting for gear to make it better. It's about pulling all of the pieces of the damage puzzle together and the satisfaction you get by seeing yourself becoming more and more powerful. The game gives you a lot of options but it's up to you to get creative and make use of them in your own unique way.
