I'm an INFP, and I've been able to rationalize that SE users live life as it is as it happens, so if something seems out of the ordinary and unpleasant, they feel it very strongly.
As an INFP I am also like this, but much less so. I just can't tolerate smells, bad words and other situations related to extreme dirt, human or animal waste, etc.
But other than that, I can tolerate seeing some dog stuff on the street or having a formal conversation about it, because I can understand the difference between a topic of conversation, something with any deeper meaning behind and something meant to be imagined or experienced in an unpleasant way.
I would say that my NE helps a lot separating what matters for me to considerate and what doesn't, especially after learning more about reality through SI
This is just my experience I felt like sharing or I would never have this opportunity again 😅😂
    Great content.

Yes. As an SF, I am way more adverse to solid waste, than most of my peers and husband. Makes sense now. Thanks!

I relate to a lot of this, though maybe not to the same extreme. I don't mind the waste words because I don't really associate the expletive with the noun that much. I like peanut butter but can't do cottage cheese. ESTP

I would have to see the disturbing object in reality or image form to be disgusted. But also I'm more sensitive to sound than sight, a type of song I dislike can make me uncomfortable if I have to listen to it, though I will attempt to tune it out. ISFP

I agree with the sound issue too; however, it’s not so much a disgust as a severe annoyance.

Interesting topic. I believe I'm ESFP and pictures of wounds or blood make me physically weak-- i have to look away.

As an NF I can’t really relate too much, although a couple of exceptions do come to mind such as cleaning my dishes and utensils too much or being terrified of bugs for most of my life. But none of what you have mentioned I can relate to. What I find interesting is that in Socionics they have a dichotomy called Visceral vs. Detached. Sensation & Feeling are considered Visceral while Intuition & Thinking are considered Detached. So it makes sense that SF types would have more sensations that disgust them than other types.

I’m an SF and my issues are sounds and smells mostly and some sights. I can handle sights in movies, but any real life gross sights really bother me. The strange thing is that when my children were infants their dirty diapers never bothered me. When they got older their smells and sounds bother me more. 🤷‍♂️

I completely understand. I hate the smell of peanut butter so much that, when my children were babies, I would choose to change the dirty diaper of one kid while my wife made the PB&J for another kid. I also have trouble with things in nature that don’t look like they are suppose to. For example, seeing a hairless cat makes me feel nasty and I have to look away.

seems to me that this would mainly apply to SFPs rather than SFJs? or perhaps it manifests slightly differently in SFJs?
as an INFP, i feel i have a relatively high threshold for disgust in the physical world, although there are a few things that can set me off even if i can rarely remember wanting to gag. i guess the equivalent would be righteous indignation or similar for me, disgust in the abstract.

I agree. However, I think it exists in all SF types, though it is likely stronger in SFP. I have memories of my ISFJ mother in law having to turn away from the TV because she was disgusted by the way someone looked.

I cannot wash my dishes, because I feel like everything I have eaten wants to go through my whole body and get back into my mouth. It’s not even what makes me sick, it is what makes me feel like I literally cannot live. More than that, when my mom cooks something that is not preferred by me I tend to leave our house and wait till it fades away. AND! The most terrific situation happens when I’m shut in elevator and it smells like someone has been killed there! I can’t literally talk. Oh, once my boyfriend licked my chick and I TREW UP! You can imagine???

And that crazy feeling of disgust when awfully smelling dude sits next to you in a bus. It’s easier to go somewhere on foot

Dear Jason. From my personal experience it appears that the kind of disgust you describe is highly connected to introverted feeling (possibly enhanced by a certain degree of extraverted sensing). If I catch that sense of disgust within someone, it's mostly in ISFP's and INFP's (in which both introverted feeling is dominant and thus overly present). Dominant extraverted feelers can also be disgusted by the behaviour of other people, but they do a better job af hiding it (to preserve harmony). T's can be disgusted by stupidity, ineffectiveness, etc. ... In conclusion: we all seem to be most disgusted with a poor manifestation of our own dominant cognitive function within others. Have a nice day 🙂

@@myisfpjourney7813 Additionaly there is the theory of John Beebe in which Si is in the position of "critical parent" for ISP's. Since Si is related to the inner bodily experience, a criticizing layer is added to the sense of disgust. That makes the experience more annoying for ISP's especially to the ISFP whose dominant introverted feeling tries to suppress this urge to criticize (to avoid hurting feelings). Not so much for the ISTP, who won't have any issues criticizing any bad experience others are giving him. Complicated stuff, but fascinating to observe if it all makes sense. Greetings again 😉

This explains so much why my husband (esfp), hates when my adult entp son and I get into weird dinner table discussions. It truly takes a lot to put me (intj) off my feed. Lol
For me the nausea inducing disgust...disturbance(?) is over stimulation. Usually motion related...even in movies, fast driving scenes I have to close my eyes! Maybe in me that's disturbing that part of me that thinks things should be calm and stationery?
And having se so low in my function stack actually makes me seek out or have a fascination with things that are kind of perceived as gross. If I taste something really bad, my husband is confused and laughs at how I need to taste it again (and want everyone else to) just to fully experience the se.

Yes, anything that is disgusting while I am trying to eat is a major No-no

Ehh, well, yes, but no xD as an isfp, I've noticed that i can have stronger reactions to such things, but i can menage. And it often isn't really as abvious. When i was younger i used to enjoy gore and morbid things, but for example skin changes caused by sicknesses strongly repulse me, that's true. But i love chaos in the real world, ugliness of poor cities. One of my dreams is to go on a trip through the ugliest cities in the world xD
Tbh even more than SF, i think that this is an S critic thing. That's why S aux types have such a good taste / fashion sense etc.

Blood and gore doesn’t bother me at all. Like I said, it’s different things for everyone. But it’s much more things like a bodily deformity or something of that nature.
