Your work is so beautiful, Tilly!!❤📷 I just picked up the original Q for a bargain and I absolutely love it!! On a side note, I just wanna mention that while the Q series are single-lens cameras, they are not point-and-shoot cameras. The user may have complete control over the exposure and focus🙏🏿
Oh yes! I bought one of these last year and I will NEVER sell this or upgrade. I also own the X100V and I do like that too because the built-in flash is very convenient for family get-togethers.
The fly in the ointment is the price, I have a Nikon Z7II and Z8. I can drop a 28 or a 40mm lens on either, better value and close enough in image quality. The Leica Qs are great but who's got $7k to drop on a point and shoot. I want one too but then I have to stop myself from going $7K in debt. Nice review.
That's definitely a better value proposition. However, only the expensive Nikon glass approaches the quality of Leica glass. Personally, 28mm is too wide for me for an everyday carry (not interested in cropping). If I was a rich guy and had enough to blow on multiple cameras, I'd get the Leica Q3 43mm version and a Medium Format Hasselblad with a few lenses.
@@Daniel_Zalman I agree if I could shoot Leica and Hasselblad I would. I used to shoot hasselblad in the Film days and loved those cameras. Now I use the 24-70 2.8 and 14-24 2.8 alot but I still use that 40 F2 and the 35 F1.8S and I still like the images out of those lenes as well. Man a square Hasselblad was a great thing!
@@arndtbc Do you use the 24-70 for work or for personal stuff? I've always loved the idea of a 24-70 f/2.8 (it's the range that I like to shoot in and 2.8 gives enough of a shallow DOF when I'm looking for that look) but I found the weight prohibitive for just a day out in the city. I can carry one, I just think it becomes a chore after some time (maybe I'm wrong). For now, I mostly have the 50 1.8s mounted on my z8 and carry a 35 or 85 in my bag, depending on what I think I may want to capture that day.
@@Daniel_Zalman I have used a 24-70 2.8 for many years so I'm used to it. Its not light but the glass is high quality and the range is perfect for me. I use on on a Z8 mostly. I also have the 35 1.8 S, 58 1.4G and the 105 2.8 S macro. I love them all but Its just as easy to carry the 24-70. It feels like a pro level lens in the hand, no compromises, aside from its a bit heavier. I used to do Professional work but these days I just do photography for me, It makes me much happier. I also use the Z7II and use the 35, 40, 58 on that camera more.
No lie nail on the coffin here with the concert pictures! reason I've ambassodered the Q for years..... You can go to shows with it! sports events with it! no problem! the 43mm only makes it sweater for the crop with 60mp if you seats are mid! Great point here!
I was so tempted to take the Q3 43 to a concert but had concerns of it being called a professional zoom camera so didn't. How did you convince somebody at a concert (that maybe doesn't know anything about cameras) it was a fixed focal length camera?
I showed them the “28” on the lens and explained that it’s the focal length, and it doesn’t have a range so it cannot zoom. I also turned the camera on and showed them that the focus ring didn’t zoom, just focuses.
Perfect besides the price haha. And maby for a camera this expensive i would expect top class 2024 autofocus performance but its still an amazing camera. The rendering is so good.
Quick info, both Q3 and A7R are using the same sensor because Leica bought the 60MP sensor from Sony and amended it slightly to change it to a sensor that does not auto focus. So tbh M11, Q3, or any Leica rocking the 60MP sensor are just extremely over priced Sony cameras. The last good Leica sensor was M9 and M10 variants.
Hey Tilly, my name is Johnny and I'm a freelance logo designer, would you love to have a logo for your photography business and your channel to have a brand image your audience can remember your contents from and also can be one of the merch print you can sell to your fans to buy and own and share the words about your channel too? Let me know if you interested and I would love to work with you to design these for you! :-)
Are you yet another youtuber that forgets to turn off the mirror effect on the front facing camera or is this ironic? God I'm so tired of mirrored images. May 2025 take them away forever
This camera is $7,000+!!! Go buy an upgraded iPhone or Android and that camera also works as a phone and spend $$6k on other things!! Call it a day. Leica is luxury brand 💩! Stop promoting them!
Q series is super great, great videos made!Keep it up.
I love the Q system. Not a lot of people understand it they think it’s traditional point and shoot. It’s a lot more than that.
Let me correct you on that mate,it’s has Manual controls it’s not a point and shoot simple as that👍
@ how are you correcting me? I was pointing out that lots of people reviewing it on here call it a point and shoot.
@@TonyEbikemeJr right ok,point is no point and shoot camera is 5-6k
Yet its over piced!
Great photos!
If you like Q3, wait till you try Hasselblad X2D you will never go back. Nothing matches the pure color and clarity and sharpness of a X 2-D try it.

I'd be curious to know what you think of the Sony RX1 series & Ricoh GR line-up. Unrelated, that's a cool nail color that you make look great.

Such a sick camera. Great results as well. Are these straight out of camera?
Agreed! Yep, straight from the camera. The black and white are in the monochrome setting too.
Beautiful shots! Agree 200%! Its revolutionizing my photography! Price IS WORTH IT! Oh and f/1.7, not f/1.2. :)

The widest aperture is f/1.7, not f/1.2. This camera is as phenomenal as Billy Strings.
Tilly, wait until you rent the 43 - you'll probably want to sell a kidney to make it a keeper!

Doesn't really matter who makes the sensor, sometimes they design them but most never manufacture them. Leica is all about lenses and design

No, it doesn't have IBIS...
Apologies, I misspoke, it does not have IBIS, but it does have optical image stabilization built into the lens.
colors on the x100 series cameras in my opinion are terrible.
Hmmm..... Ok
I dont think the price is justified given sony can do similar if not better with half of its cost l!

Oh dear. Clearly never owned a Leica…
Poor man story
I got an almost new one for 4.8k… other pre-owned ones are around 4.5k here in Germany
