    The inscription written by George in the 'Epistles and Gospels' really does allow quite a magical glimpse into the relationship between the two siblings. I can't imagine what it must have been like to hold Anne's Book of Hours. However, it seems entirely fitting that a treasured possession Anne once held should find it's way, centuries later, into the hands of the lady who has done so much to forward her cause. Thank you Claire for this fascinating broadcast.

      It was a very emotional experience. I'd seen the books so many times, but to hold them was incredible.

    Hi Claire! Good video as always. I think what attracts me so much to Anne's books of hours are the colors ~~ still bold and vibrant after hundreds of years. Thanks again for the video ~~ take good care!

    Hi Claire, I enjoyed your video on your visit to Hever Castle to see, and to hold, Anne Boleyn's Book of Hours. What an amazing experience!
    Learning about other books that belonged to or were associated with Anne brings a richer understanding of her as a person. Much appreciated after years of one-dimensional portrayals of her as an ambitious, scheming home wrecker, and shrewish, jealous wife.
    I especially love the idea that could be musical compositions attributed to Anne.
    Looking forward to the rest of this series. Cheers!

    I admire that Queen Anne tried to stop Henry from looting the monasteries. She really thought there should be schools.

    Question though, is there any doubt that those books of hours were once owned by Anne Boleyn? Besides the signatures and inscriptions, how do we know? Also are those signatures and inscriptions authentic? Is there any chance they could be forged signatures and inscriptions added later. 🤔

    • @anneboleynfiles
      @anneboleynfiles  4 месяца назад +1

      No, there's no doubt that these belonged to Anne at some point, but were then passed on. It was quite common for people to inscribe their Books of Hours. Kate McCaffrey has done major research and has found all kinds of other inscriptions that aren't visible with the naked eye, which show how these books were passed on and who owned them. Hi Claire. Can you please explain what does "Remember me when you do pray, that hope doth lead from day to day" mean? English is not my first language and I can't understand what she meant by that. Also, thanks for the video ❤

    • @anneboleynfiles
      @anneboleynfiles  4 месяца назад +1

      It's just Anne asking to be remembered in people's prayers and for her hope to be renewed daily, to have hope in her life. I think she's talking about her hope in Christ.

    I'm reading Alison Weir's "The Six Wives of Henry VIII". One page says Henry had a book called "The Tragedy About Anne" because he "foresaw" this. (Page 329 paperback version). Does that book exist? Then or now? And I just read Henry and Jane were buried where one of Anne's sons was buried. Not sure how it's making me feel. Lol

    • @anneboleynfiles
      @anneboleynfiles  4 месяца назад

      I can't remember off the top of my head, but I believe he did write something in a little book he had about Anne. No, it hasn't survived.
      With regards to the burial vault, it's an infant of Queen Anne, the Stuart queen, not Anne Boleyn.
