I think you are a great teacher and explain everything in detail so we can follow your instructions. I love your channel and watch you all the time. You have such a great personality.
The hens were so funny!!! I could see the white ones as the dusk changed to dark and it was so homey and wonderful. I love that these are recorded because I am often in a Zoom visit with remote grandchildren at 5 PM eastern and have to watch you late.
Awesome little thread catcher! I made myself one years ago when I got my sewing machine. It’s not quilted but I use it more than any other thing! Mine is shorter and a little longer but it’s a great size. You really do accumulate a lot of sewing trash with trimming and thread bits. I just turn mine inside out and get all those bits out when I empty it. Now I need to play with free motion and quilting and make me a new bag. I just love your tutorials. I’ve been watching you for many years and you are the best teacher and explain things so well. I’ve made a lot of your projects and love them all. Happy Week!💕🧵🤗 PS - I gotta get one of those clappers!!! The size is perfect.
These make great gifts. I made them with long, adjustable straps (small velcro tabs for attaching the straps) as car trash bags for the guys in my church. They were a big hit! They could also be used as gift bags for your sewing friends.
I agree with helen poinsett! Very good teacher. I came and got onto my computer to be able to comment. :) Not sure if you are still live. :-) I have been watching your free-motion lessons! I have been practicing on little pads and trying my hand on making a creation for raw edge applique. It has been great fun. I absolutely love all your shows, always pick up something grand to try!
I just found your LIVE which apparently was on 9 hours ago. It's 6pm on Thursday at the moment, here in Tasmania (Australia). If I can work out what time I should tune in for both your Wednesday and Friday LIVES I will definitely watch you. xx
Free Motion Quilting - UGH!! I am a dropout! Took many classes, & I just can’t get the hang of it at all! I’ll have to check out your videos, because you make sense out of anything you demo!!
Vanessa, followed your tutorial and made quilted thread catcher by piecing together and quilting an old shirt of my son’s from his high school days. Would love to send photo but not sure how. My mom also worked in those New York “sweatshops” for the ILGWU (International Ladies Garments Union), iin New York when she came here from Cuba.- For about 30 years.
Love the idea! Now that my sewing group is allowed to gather again since the shutdown I have been using a plastic cup each week which is not nearly as cute. I’m going to use some pre-quilted remnants that are in my stash. You could also pick up a pre-quilted placemat very cheap somewhere if you aren’t a quilter or want to save time.
Am going to make some of these! I need one for threads and my hubby is bed-bound and need something for his kleenex that is used then can wash now and then. Extra one to use handy too.
I NEED to make a thread catcher because anytime I'm sewing there is always thread or pieces of fabric either on the table or the floor and even on me😁, thanks
I have noticed for the last few weeks that the live videos on RUclips are always missing the first few minutes of the conversation. So I know on this one she did State when she would be the new time is and I'm sure I can figure it out but maybe you could let the RUclips live section start for a few minutes first so that we don't miss the first you know five minutes of the conversation. Thanks love your stuff I'll be tuning in when I figure out what time it starts
You make the sewing projects look like an exercise in relaxation. By the time i am finished sewing, i am a snarling, snapping mess. Perhaps sewing is not my favourite thing.
Hi Vanessa, I’m very disappointed that caption was not available for a deaf individual like me who is a moderate beginner. Typically, I’m able to put the caption on with the setting, but this one says it cannot be turned on. 😢 Is it possible for you to fix that? I’ve been following you for awhile now (maybe for about 6 months).
Super cute! Definitely will be making one! Thank you☺️
Hola Vanessa, como siempre your programs are beautiful. I am trying to join the Quilt Club ! Thanks for everything! Un abrazo, Lilian

Love it and this will replace the empty coffee can I have been using. Will make some as gifts for my Ladies Club sewing buddies. Thanks Vanessa😊

Here in Rhode Island learning new things and loving it! Really enjoy your videos from a fellow Gemini
Glad to help! 🙌🏽
Thank you Vanessa. Great teaching and video as always with a function completed project.
Love ❤️ your thread 🧵 catcher.
Sometime very simple projects can be so fun and new skills learned. Like always such a positive tutorial.
I also think this would be a great idea to use to make Easter baskets by putting long handle on it!
Wonderful little projects from quilting samples!

Oh man! I wished I had saved all those samples of my free motion quilting! This was so easy! Thank you for showing this cute thread catcher!
I could not sew with out my Rotary cutters. They truly are AWSOME. I do use a Humper Jumper when making handbags, they work great 😊

I rely on the World Clock on my phone. ⏰
This is really cute. I might attach it to a base to go under my serger.
I used some left over outdoor fabric for the outside of my thread catcher. It is cute. Thanks.
How fun! I'm going to make a dozen of them.
I am going to make the thread catcher and I’ll try embroidering your hens on it. Lol. Thanks for another great tutorial
I like the later time as well.

Hi, Vanessa from Arizona!!
I think this is a great idea! I'd like to make some a little deeper and put loops on them to use it in my car for trash and or catch-all items.
I want to try this.
Hi Vanessa from Adelaide Sth Australia.

I was watching the chickens too! I thought they were birds or fish at first!
Awesome!!!!

What kind of a pen do you use to mark your fabric
