The funny thing g is back then. It wasn't that low budget. Cameras weren't a common. thing. Or people that could operate one. Now a days. An iPhone 6 could make all these for free lol
This is great! Love the quick glimpse of Roger Gascoigne. And it takes me back to being in Wellington in the early 1990's with Tim Scott, who'd heard where Iggy was going to be rehearsing with his band. We went there, we could hear music, I opened the door and INSTANTLY Iggy stopped playing, turned to the doorway and said "Yes, hello!" I was so disconcerted by the fact that Iggy and The Stooges were rehearsing in the dark, when Tim wouldn't come with me, I ended up just closing the door and we walked away, me probably giving Tim quite a hard time. I wanted to meet Iggy Pop! He was the one who'd played in (local punk band) The First Fifteen ffs! What was the matter with him? Lol. Hopefully Samantha Swan got to meet the Ig Man and present him with that cake she'd made, which I seem to recall was for his birthday. Good times! Both Tim and Sam are dead now yet infamous Iggy, like Keith Richards, is still alive and kicking.
God remember this from New Zealand when I was a kid. I'm bored too. In 1978 my dream was to be a bar boy at club 52... but my life was Foxton New Zealand....ran to get out of there as soon as I could..!!
I had no idea this was shot in nz, my home country. Big fan since i was young but never realised this video existed. That building behind him is our house of parliment, known as The Beehive😺
@Alivia Jones Your disparaging comment has appeared more than once. You're trolling. Stop that habit. When you scroll through comments to see which person you can troll, it makes you a pathetic person, Alivia.
@Alivia Jones that’s fine but how is bashing people in the process cool? ‘No one asked’ you said or in other words you don’t GAF about what that person got out of the clip, you could keep that to yourself but you chose to make that person feel small about where they come from, that was the purpose of your comment was it not ? People put these clips up for others to enjoy and that person enjoyed seeing the location it was shot in as they had a personal connection. You chose to piss on that comment, I know you don’t regret it, you obviously get off on acidic commenting and I think that’s a pretty sad existence
My favorite Iggy Pop albums are "Lust For Life" (1977) & 'New Values" (1979) I listen to these albums when i'm happy, sad, mad, hornry & angry. They're perfect for all occasions !
When New Values came out it was my fave album along with Duty Now For The Future. If i was on a trip for the weekend, those 2 albums were on heavy rotation. Brilliant album every song. Endless Sea, Curiosity, Girls, New Values, and fave Billy Is A Runaway "We pull into the liquor store And he was underage And all he said to me was put your money away" "Billy's got a family want to skin him alive His dope-dealing sister wants him to join the enterprise" Iggy has written some superb lyrics through his best albums.
It was filmed in Wellington, NZ, for a program called "Radio with pictures" that showed on Sunday night (not Ready to roll, on Saturday, as previously stated - that was exclusively top 10 pop).
Why wasn’t MTV showing this video back in the early 80’s when the channel had just started. I had always heard they didn’t have enough videos at the beginning and we all remember seeing a lot of the same videos at first! But I know I never saw this one!!
@OnceWasRStrathfield - My son just said "I'm bored", which reminded me of this song, so I clicked on the video and was surprised to see the 'Beehive' in Wellington; And we live here! X-))
@Dick Wick what a cliche cynical thing to say. I really wish people like you would just shut up in life and keep their heads in. I'm not even from New Zealand, but I hate tired cynics like you. Let me check your page... Oh wow, not a thing! Enough said.
@Dick Wick I guessing your stuck in your ways, and would prefer to use the internet to make thoughtless remarks than use it for research and enlightenment. As an American, I have discovered a lot of things from New Zealand that are good, particularly the indie rock music from the 80's and 90's (The Chills, The Bats, The Clean, etc). It's been a very rewarding thing to find out there's more to life than having my head in the sand and dismissing things just because MTV didn't throw it in my lap (though I did find out about The Chills through MTV, to be fair)
I found that same leather jacket in a thrift store last year before I’d seen this video. I knew I subconsciously bought it for a reason 😂 too look more like iggy.

Wow, first time seeing this video. I was familiar with his other 'Bored' video from when it came out, but didn't know he made another one! Anyone know why he decided to make two different ones? That's got to be pretty unusual.

God I LOVE these low budget, simple little vids of iggy around this time!
See Kinks "Low Budget" metaltomotown
You don't need a budget when you have performer as dynamic as Iggy.
The funny thing g is back then. It wasn't that low budget. Cameras weren't a common. thing. Or people that could operate one.
Now a days. An iPhone 6 could make all these for free lol
That was done in the New Zealand parliament building
Shot in Wellington New Zealand. Iggy would have loved it then.
2023 and New Values is still a great album. It will always be. And I fuckin love this guy.

Killer guitar riff.
I played this to friends on the floor of my dorm back in 79. I'm still known to some as "The Chairmen" 👊🤣👍

New Values, Naughty Little Doggie, Beat Em' Up and Skullring are the 4 corners of Iggy Pop ! Hands Down Please !
Play this at my funeral
Iggy IS the SHIZZ! Loved him since I was 13 years old...The Godfather of Punk👍
I was 14 when I bought the Stooges 1st album and I’m 69!now and you are right, Iggy IS the SHIZZ! And still going strong!
Awesome, never saw this version before. Some favorite Iggy.
I just realised Iggy was in Wellington feck i was in high school in Christchurch feckin loved that song as soon as i heard it.
Ideal song for lockdown.

Saint Martins and what idiot album?
good choices
Both are great, I also love Soldier and Zombie Birdhouse. Good stuff....
Me pasa lo mismo, en cualquier circunstancia escucho estos albumes. Me gusta mucho también Soldier y Party
Apart from his Stooges work I reckon he was at the peak of his powers on those two albums. Brilliant.

This must have been shot for a tv show. There is an official video that is different. This is brilliant. Love it
Exactly it was for a visit that Iggy made in another country, and he did this filming for a music program

New Values was a hugely underrated album...
Agreed. I love New Value and Zombiebird House as best in his albums. (a middle aged Japanese)
Iggy rules, forever.
And filmed way back when here in dear old Wellington, NZ circa 1978. Wed never seen his like here.
I remember that. He blew my mind.
whos on guitar here? williamson? guitars are so good in this one.
Maybe the greatest song ever. Explains how I feel about much of the world today…boring.
The character of Alvin Sane is partially based on Iggy. When his voice goes up an octave and he starts screaming, that is fucking timeless.
This was filmed in Wellington New Zealand..
WTF. there's a young Phil Obrian & Rodger Gasgoin. LOL.
One of the guys looked a little like Kevin Black (ex Radio Hauraki). Wonder if it was.
