Silver Age Flash Omnibus vol. 1 is a must for any collection because it lays down so much of the foundation of the DC universe (in much the same way silver age Fantastic Four did for Marvel). That's a nice custom dust jacket but I really don't care too much whether all the dust jackets match.

Geoff Johns run gets really great when he reintroduces Barry Allen in the flash rebirth (not to be confused with dc rebirth) and in the dastardly death of the rogues which is a great story with great artwork and then after that we got flashpoint which was amazing
That’s when it goes downhill. Johns best stuff was around the end of vol 1 and all of vol 2. Ppl debate whether his flash was better than his green lantern so it was weird seeing the creator say that.

The next great story is "Flash of Lightning" from Crisis on Infinite Earth's #8 (or is it #7) - just one issue after Supergirl dies, we have the Flash's death! Next up in greatness is Flash: Rebirth; following that we have Flashpoint, and then finally the DCU version of the Old Man Logan universe we have The Last Flash Story entitled Flash at the End of Time or Trying to Eat My Own Nose. Epic stuff!
How does one identify the misprint copy of the third Johns book without tearing open the shrinkwrap? Could you do a video on omnibus misprints & how to identify them? You are THE MAN with the most dope collection and none of the other omnipeople can hope to make such a video.
Flash: Savage Velocity was released a month or so ago and has roughly the first 19 books of the post-crisis (Wally West) series. It’s not an omnibus... it’s thick softcover, very similar to a Marvel Epic Collection.

Just read the first paperback of his run which seems to be the same content of the first hardcover. First arc where you stopped is very 90’s , but the second arc in the book the art changes and gets a lot better

I mean outside of the Speed Force, Johns Run is mostly built on things Waid didn't do. Focusing on the Rogues, giving Keystone city a unique Detroit-esque character, establishing Wally as a blue collar hero are all things that give Johns run a unique identity relative to Waid's run. Don't get me wrong Waid's stuff is seminal, but Johns carved out his own unique take on the Flash mythos, and collectively they've given us some of the best superhero comics ever.

Mark Waid's run is better. They're putting out TPB s of that run now. Johns built his run directly off Waids.
