Look at those delicious books! I started reading Flash starting with Flash Rebirth back in 2006 or so and had no idea wtf was going on. Then Flashpoint and New 52 onward. I'm working through Waid's Flash right now on DC Universe. So...much...content.

Great video, Omar. Man i really wasnt fond of Wally being left out of the new 52 but i still think Manapul's and Buccellato's run on the Flash is suuuper underrated

Very, very good videos about The Flash, one of my favourite superheroes of all time! For a time, Wally West was THE BEST superhero, the one that I wanted to collect every single issue from his monthly series! I ordered and bought dozens and dozens of Mark Waid's run (Mike Baron's and Messner-Loeb's were harder to get but now a collection is coming!).
The Mark Waid run deserves a series of omnibus... Johns run already had one, but DC decided to start a new omnibus series, instead of going for new material in omnibus... just plain stupid (but if they don't do an omnibus of Byrne's Superman run, we know that expectations are low).
I have to say that bringing back Barry Allen as the Flash, was one of the most sad moments in comic history for me... he might be the Flash for a big number of comic readers (specially after the TV series), but he's not MY Flash. I tried to read his stories, specially because Johns was writing them, but stopped after Flashpoint (good stories, but not appealing to me). Read a few years later the Buccellato/Manapul, also good but stopped when they left. After this run, from what I understand, the stories are mediocre at best... tried again with Joshua Williamson, but stopped after the second deluxe edition... let me just say that Barry Allen, from Flashpoint until now, seems to be out of character, probably closer to the TV character, and sometimes like a man-child (or a crybaby?)... at least he should be written in a way to respect his history in the DC universe and his death in Crisis... I just wonder who likes the actual Flash!?
After reading Johns story bringing back Wally West, I thought that he and DC were redeeming themselves and giving him the proper respect. One of the most emotional Flash stories I have ever read! But I guessed wrong... it seemed that even being in Titans and Flash series, nobody really knew what to do with him... now I still have to read Heroes in Crisis, but I'm afraid to do it! I know that Flash Forward tries to undo some of the things done in HiC, but let's see what's coming for him. I only hope that DC (and the writer) just respects his legacy in Flash history (the same with Jay Garrick, Bart Allen/Impulse)!

Nuno Oliveira no worries about the post I enjoy reading them. You are absolutely right. This version of the Flash. Specially the Rebirth run is very much the CW tv show. Wally fan for life.
Kollins and Manapaul (I'm probably spelling those names wrong) had the best art on the Flash - for me. I can't remember if Humberto Ramos worked on the book back in the day, but I know he had a great Impulse design. Thanks for the show Omar.
Brett Booth is also a solid artist on pencils. He is a journeyman in comics. He has done so much. He even worked on Heroes Reborn Fantastic Four. I first remember Manapaul's name from his work on Legion of Superheroes with Jim Shooter. I forgot about his work on Witchblade. Thanks for reminding me about that. Keep up these great videos.

Watching these Flash reading order videos again. Finally getting around to putting mine together and these are SUCH a huge help!! I hear there is supposedly a "Redemption of Wally" storyline planned.........crossing fingers they do him justice. I haven't read any of Heroes in Crisis and from little I've read, lol, not sure I want to.

As always, Omar, appreciate you grinding out these videos! I'm a big fan of the Flash but have surprisingly read very little of his material. I've read Johns' Rebirth, and I've collected all of the Geoff Johns paperbacks and the first of Mark Waid's; I also have some more Wally West material in the Crisis on Infinite Earths deluxe edition and in some Wolfman New Teen Titans omnis. In addition, I have two of the Flash silver age TPBs. Going to have to get to it during this self-quarantine.
Cinematic Galaxy my brother I hope you are staying safe out there. Now is the perfect time to read those books.

I would definitely say that Joshua Williamson run feels like a soul successor to Geoff Johns run.
It's really excellent I really enjoyed the first 10 issues godspeed was very intriguing villian.
He's arguably my favorite character right now as the series is still going on right. For me villain on his role of redemption. That somehow Joshua Williamson made. Speak for me at least very intriguing of a character as much as reverse flash.
I really wish they had continued the Deluxe editions.
The first comic I ever picked up every month from my LCS was Heroes in Crisis, and then I followed it up with FLASH Forward. I'll always enjoy it for that, but I feel so guilty 😂

I was looking at the issue in the upcoming Flashpoint Omnibus.. Is this not a chronological story? Seems like only first 5 issues then rest are what happened with other characters during that event?

Yesterday was my birthday and the wife bought me some flash stuff including the Flash Rebirth Hardcover Vol 2. Now I’m scrambling to get vol 1 and 3 as well as The Button crossover. Great video. I didn’t realize The Flash had so much history. Glad to see Bart Allen back. Loved the original Young Justice Team with Connor Kent, Tim Drake and Impulse.

I read too little of Flash, even being one of my favorites heroes, until The New 52, and I loved, since then I'm reading the character. After read 80 Years Of The Fastest Man Alive this year, I'm in duty to get the previous runs.

@@jabezcreed Unfortunately that's what DC tried to convince us to do with Flashpoint. Pretend that Identity Crisis, Sacrifice, Infinite Crisis where the heroes did heinous acts never happen. This is a whole new universe where the heroes are still heroes...until we start doing similar controversial stories in this universe.

Excellent videos. Been wanting to read thru Flash bc I always like them when they show up as supporting roles. I've only read Flashpoint and Rebirth (2016). I found first Geoff Johns omnibus for $15 (!) so I'll probably read that first, but all the runs look great. Oh and I did read Heroes in Crisis...Mann's art is some of my favorite in current comics, but I understand why Flash fans were pissed off. I read there was a lot of weird behind the scenes stuff, so I wonder if the result was Tom Kings original intention/plot?
That Johns omnibus is one of my favorite omnis. I always wonder how much is editorial mandate in some of these stories.

I havent read any superhero comics and searched around to get into flash comic. I was ready to read The flash rebirth 2009 but im so confused to what to read cause lots of recommendation to what to read first.

I'm confused, what's the difference between the Flash rebirth by Geoff Johns, from 2010, compared to the Flash rebirth from 2016 until now?
The Geoff Johns one was a six issue Flash miniseries while the 2016 DC Rebirth was a company wide relaunch of it's entire line of ongoing monthly superhero comic titles. Much like The New 52.

They vary. This month was X-force, Wolverine and Duck Comics.

Thank you my brother. I didn't include them, because I don't have them yet. I'm a sucker that still believes we will get a Deluxe volume four. I have four more months of waiting for an announcement.

This is also one reason for me that I don't have much Flash content (I am mostly collecting Batman), only Geoff Johns stuff (the new omnibus, rebirth, flashpoint and batman flashpoint). On the one hand, I can't decide in which format I want them. On the other hand, taking into consideration that DC has proceeded with solicitations such as Road to No man's land Omnibus (let's see what will happen with that), I have hope that there will be also deluxe/omnibus format solicitations for titles such as Flash also. We are looking forward for your Batman reading order soon! :D

I think there are two highly underrated Flash runs. The first being Geoff Johns’s Flash Rebirth/Road to Flashpoint up to and including Flashpoint. I love these issues. Such a great run. I really wish DC has included these stories in the Absolute Flashpoint. They definitely deserve the attention. The second Flash run I love which gets no love is the second half of the New 52 run from Vendeti/Jensen. These stories are amazing. I’d love to see DC give us a Flash New 52 vol. 2 omnibus. I’d buy that in a second.

It's funny when you said New 52 was like a slap in the face to Wally West fan because Wally's own existence if a slap in the face to Barry Allen fans.
Barry could've been handled way better and Wally took that away imo. Still like Wally tho but at heart I'm a Barry person since he's the main Flash as a whole.

@@NearMintCondition sometimes you struggle a bit with a name and you say: I hope I am pronouncing this right. Those names often look Spanish, to me. Could be wrong, I am Dutch mysels. I would probably butcher them, too.
I've seen comments on how well my names are pronounced from the Latin root. The ones I have issues with are some European names.

Didn't care for the new 52 flash series it not bad I just didn't care for it
Not a huge fan on Final crisis. I felt that event was very weak. It does have a lot of good parts in there I will give it that fly over off of that particular story I'm not a huge fan of it I'm just not. For me it just didn't make a lot of sense it's just I was trying to figure it out on a story. But it was for me at least very confusing for the main story all the spinoffs made a whole lot of sense the main story was very confusing for some reason.
I will say that one with the only one Legion of 3 worlds like the main story made no sense to me
Now Rogues Revenge oh my God that was good that blew me away good. The rose completely killing you know who( not going to ruin who they kill but it was a Savage moment at the end of the story)
