+mrhearse777 Hi,Thank you so much for your kind comments,I'm glad you enjoyed my filming efforts.I'm hoping to have my own loco at this years event but will still try to video the action as well....Best wishes Chris
Robert Masterman It is surprising how many different loco's turn up,this year we had a lot more Southern another time it will be LNER,always a great show. Thanks for your kind comments Bob.....Regards Chris
Hi Laurie,The guys have done a great job....Hopefully I will be with them with my loco this year.....You never know you could make a visit....Best wishes to you all down under.....Chris
***** We would have loved to stay the weekend but with other commitments on the Sunday we had to go home. This was my video of the Saturday, as Rosie had already uploaded her video I left mine in the camera. Thanks for your kind words Steve, thanks as always for your comments.Regards Chris
This is the right way to do coaches. None of those converted gondolas (unless it's a larger scale) or those horrible looking purpose built riding cars. No. Scale passenger coaches with foot boards on the side and a cushioned roof. Bravo! Also, those locomotives are absolutely beautiful, every last one of them!
+EZ Goin Thanks for your comment, not everybody can afford scale coaches so they use what they build so it usually is the type you discribe. This mainline loco weekend brings out the best coaches/trucks and loco's.Glad you enjoyed my video......Best wishes Chris.
G'day and greetings from Tasmania, what a beautiful collection of locos. The engineering skills a truly amazing, great job on the filming and editing it all flows well. All I can say is I just hope that my 5" Super Simplex ends up as a fine looking as these. I have subscribed and look forward to watching your other videos. Lastly I think the set up they have is a credit to all. Thank you regards John Kinnane Tasmania Australia
+John Kinnane Hi John. This an annual event at the Echills wood railway and is possibly the best gathering of Mainline loco's seen in this country,I agree the skills of the builders is amazing.I'm sure the Simplex will be just great when finished. We come to run our loco's at Echills as they are very well run events.Thank you for subscribing and also your nice comments,Enjoy the rest of my videos.....Best wishes Chris.
AndreiTupolev The NER O60 was the one that I liked to Andrei, lovely powerful little loco, nice to see the Southern loco's as well, one year soon I hope we will see a Merchant Navy or West Country that would be lovely.Shame about the weather as it kept a few loco's on shed while we were filming.Great day out, roll on next year.....Regards Chris.
Hi Mark.Sadly we found what we thought was a crack in a connecting rod, so we had to call off our visit to Echills Wood this year..Always the best gala of the year to see the many different Mainline loco's in miniature...Hopefully next year.....Best wishes Chris
@@wooltman oh no sorry to hear are you doing the work yourself or somewhere like black gates or the steam workshop. All my locomotives are in various stages of refit they was inherited from my grandfather and have been stood 7 years until a family issue had been settled on the plus side its brilliant to refresh some good memories watching my grandfather do the same I enjoy working on them as much as running them
All those fantastic loco's!! whoo!! Please please could you, would you ...... sneaky snooky one away next year, for me to have??!! Some great loco's attending. Excellent film. Do like how you have shots on shed, steaming bays etc as well as good shots of out on track running.
***** It is the ideal location for this event, plenty of steaming area's and a nice long track to play on,although they still had a log jam at the Far Leys station when a loco failed.Roll on next year....Regards Chris.
wooltman Oh that is interesting, I would like to see some of these larger locos but, I put its size down so, you/the railway could have many more lanes or tracks to link to the turntable thus more lanes to link to it.
englishtwister If you look through my channel you will see videos for every year that it has run and one year when we were running our B1,now sold. You will see some very long locos. The length of the turntable doesn't determine the number of tracks leading off if,you can have as many as you can get in,you just turn the turntable to each one as required....Thanks Chris.
Chris .... l meant, the only way l would ever get a 7 1/4" gauge loco of my own to drive would be if you were to kindly pinch one of these for me!!!!! Pretty please?! :-))
This is a wonderful way to spend time . Very professional effort , and superb in every respect . Many thanks .

Sve super i kod nas imamo male vrtne vlakove ali nemamo uskotračne tračnice od 7-1/4" pozdrav svima...
English please.
That is indeed a scale massive turntable.
englishtwister It needs to be big for the longer loco's that attend, thanks for watching and commenting.Welcome to my channel....Regards Chris

U say June in the title when it is July 🤔
When this Mainline weekend started,it was in June,it now takes place in July.
Brilliant
+Douglas Wilson Thank you Douglas,it is always a great weekend and it just gets better each year.....Regards Chris.
The driver of 61033 know how to drive, beautifully controlled slipping, most others seem to just let them slip.
+984francis I think your right he manages the loco well......Thanks for commenting...Chris.
British railways standard 7 1/4, "Evening Star" BR 92220
One of the most modeled loco's in any gauge I would think, still very nice though, would love it in my workshop.
Are all of these locos custom built
Most of them are built by there owners, there are some very clever people about.
Chris .... l meant, the only way l would ever get a 7 1/4" gauge loco of my own to drive would be if you were to kindly pinch one of these for me!!!!! Pretty please?! :-))
BillycanKay Oh! If I pinch two we could have one each, let me know which one you would like, I will see what we can do,lol....Chris.
lol..... thanks Chris. No, we wouldn't really steal anyone's loco would we! :-)
I shall keep doing the lotto !
Ok,I think that's best, good luck, think of me if you win!
Brill
+Harold phillips Thank you Harold, glad you enjoyed my video. This event just gets bigger and better every year....Regards Chris.
