These kind of videos is why I followed Mango Street in the first place. Educational yet simple, easy to understand and follow, not nerdy, not boring. Thank you Daniel and Rachel for creating this channel. ✌🏻
This is SO helpful! I have used Calibration since one of your early LR videos, but I have never really understood what it was doing. So, this is fantastic! Thank you!
Great guide. I've always used the calibration in ignorance but nice to actually know how it's affecting the image. The concert example was pretty eye opening to its utility.
This was great! I usually ignore the calibration section and rely on all the other color tools to correct the color. Thanks for showing us new techniques!
I have watched few more vids regarding the same topic, but you have shown the practical aspect of this tool, I think now I am ready to try this tool for the first time ever Thanks Keep growing keep inspiring ❤️
oh my god, i never comment on videos but this was literally so helpful. i primarily shoot live music and im constantly fighting against the lighting and finally understanding how to use this is going to make my life so much easier 😭
This video literally saved me from longtime anguish of thinking I'm ever incapable buying actual decent lighting, therefore I'm simply not a good at photography.
Oh damn, I actually have had that problem with washed in blue light from a concert, and I never knew or thought about the calibration having such potential in editing those photos! (I went with black and white haha). Thanks for the great video!
Damn concert photo reminded me of recent photo with improper skin tone, due to wrong white balance & no RAW shooting. While be trying this calibration method to see if i recover the skin tone. Also just saved the video to learn lightroom, will also be adding & watching rhe other videos yiu have mentioned. Thank you creating this videos.
I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT THIS! I am so clueless about calibration, but like magic, Mango Street saves the day. Y'all are amazing and can't wait to watch!
Thank you Daniel! If you haven't already, I would love if you could make a tutorial on how to achieve those earthy / moody tones (dark greens and browns) that your photos have
same thing happens to so many other people. it’s really frustrating. just know that we usually post on monday mornings at 7am pst. and if you ever see us on your feed, make sure you click our video to let youtube know you actually want to see our videos in the future. notification bell might help, too, but it’s sus.
Every pixel on a device has three colors: green, blue, and red. Sometimes the three colors inside the pixel aren’t “firing” accurately and may make the pixel appear slightly differently than intended. When each color inside the pixel is balanced and firing evenly, the pixel shows an accurate color. Imagine the RGB parade with too much of one of the colors…it skews the while balance. This is what calibration fixes, but at the pixel level.
no, these were raw photos. do you have a timestamp from the vid? it was either an adjustment brush WB or camera calibration, which would not show the actual temperature.
The whole time i was watching this video my brain auto filled in Rachel sitting beside you and nodding.
Wow! To be honest I never used it because I really didn’t understand how to. Your video just changed that!
The before and after from the concert photo is amazing. This really shows how powerful the calibration function is

This explanation + the practical application is so far the best one I've seen. Thank you guys!

This was the best tutorial on calibration I've seen. Thank you for making it easy to understand!
glad to hear it!
I’ve watched so many videos on Calibration and I finally get it now. Thanks Daniel.
Yes, same here.

The calibration panel is brand new to me! Thanks you for this awesome informative video. 😄
"Sometimes I’ll start a sentence and I don’t even know where it’s going. I just hope I find it along the way" lol all I can say is WOW!
Another amazing tutorial, this is why you guys are my number one photography channel.
Underrated is an understatement
I used calibration to correct skin tones sometimes, but now all these new possibilities are open to me🤓
INSTANTLY SUBSCRIBED. This is some golden content man.
I never touched the calibration section but after watching this video i feel more comfortable trying to do so ....tnq 💪🏽
Does anybody else think Daniel should do ASMR videos?? His voice is so soothing, I always watch Mango Street vids to relax
Thanks For the Awsome tutorial # love frm Srilanka
Wow thank you so much I was scared to use calibration before cuz I did't know how it works. It was really helpful, thanks

The information in this video is going to really help in my editing! THANK YOU SO MUCH 🙏
Wowowowowowww.. Wait... 06:00 Dope! Damn🤯🤯
I can't seem to find this option in my Lightroom, should I only be using Lightroom classic?
Oh damn, I actually have had that problem with washed in blue light from a concert, and I never knew or thought about the calibration having such potential in editing those photos! (I went with black and white haha).
Thanks for the great video!
The edit of that blue light was insane
This was amazing! Never knew I could do that! Thank you!
This was very informative! Thanks! Love you guys and your thorough videos!
Damn as an abstract artist this is good for me to know. Thank you very much mango street!

Very informative, thanks! I will definitely play with these sliders a bit more in my edits from now on👍
I thought you could only do this in Photoshop! This is a total game changer!

Thank you
Daniel is killing it with the mustache.
THANK YOU ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for the info!
So helpful!
soooo good, thanks a lot
Thankyou ❤️
It's the only part of editing that I skip 😂 I had no idea what it was for, Thank you 🙏
Used to use these sliders on my concert photos because my venue was almost always just using red lights
red lights are so annoying to work with 😩
@@MangoStreet red lights and strobes!
that was exacly what i looking for
Does this feature exist on the mobile app or just desktop?
Wow that before and after tho! 👍
Wish they had this feature in LR mobile
Came for the title, stayed for the mustache.
It's kind of insane how I almost never see your videos when you post them until I go looking for them.

nice explanation 👍🏻
Did you perform your edit on a jpeg file?
Because the WB slider did not show the temperature, but +50 or -50 of color tint
no, these were raw photos. do you have a timestamp from the vid? it was either an adjustment brush WB or camera calibration, which would not show the actual temperature.
Q- Should you start off the editing with the Caliberation first or the HSL panel first?
calibration would be best in our opinion.
Nice 👍
How is this different from color grading?
calibration changes how your colors are interpreted.
Im not finding the link to the Lightroom masterclass, did u forget to put it in the description?
good catch! ruclips.net/video/EmpVNMhS2u4/видео.html
@@MangoStreet thx! :)
exactly hard to explain but once you can see what is happening ,you are good to go
Maybe @MangoStreet and @PeterMcKinnon should do a collab in a Photo edit battle-stand off-competition-Grand Prix...
Where's Rachel?
Non-Americans and non-emo fans be like: "They have concerts at American Football matches?"
😆
black and White hahahaha
do you know what's happening in palestine
Thank you. This was lovely!
