I like people like Luke. People who come off as bubbly, fun and chill, but are low-key ultra competent. Nice photos! I’ve been dreaming of getting a “real camera” for years now, and hoping 2025 that dream will come true.
Your work is unreal! It is the perfect blend of classic and artistic and encapsulates an *actually* timeless 'light and airy' look. I love the smaller details of your photos, for example the reflection of the groomsmen in the glossy table just elevates the photo. Your work is the ultimate inspiration, and the way you teach is so clear and concise. So glad to have found your channel.
I love these behind the shot videos!! You are one of the biggest reasons I’ve taken my wedding photography business into film and I enjoy learning from you!! Nice work!!
I love the transparency here, something that I noticed this past season was I need to stop my lenses down, and seeing that you're shooting at as high as f/8 just show's how much improvement I still have to make in my own work
Your enthusiasm makes me want to shoot weddings and learn medium format! It's helpful to hear why you made the choices you did with the photos. I need to look at more current wedding photography to get a feel for it.
Great as always. Your vids are so inspiring and refreshing. Happy New Year Luke. May your relatives and you have a great and healthy year 2025!!☺☺☺ 👍👍👍
Happy New Year from Norway! The last image instantly brought to mind Las Meninas by Diego Velázquez - such beautiful composition and depth! Your video was incredibly insightful; I truly appreciate how thoughtfully you walk us through your process and tools. I’d love to learn more about your workflow regarding how do you go about scanning the negatives ( scanner type-frontier vs home scanning w. Silverfast soft.)? Do you just expose 1 roll to include at the gallery? Thank you for sharing your expertise - it’s always inspiring!
Happy New Year! Wow thank you for those kind words! Ah that is such an interesting painting! I get all my images scanned at a lab that does a custom profile for me. And it really depends on the wedding and lighting for how many rolls of film I'll shoot at each wedding!
Hey Luke, thanx for your new video. I love your content and bought your presets. I still struggle with them but I guess it's a learning curve. I have a few questions? The first photo that you showed in this video is with very soft focus. How would you react if your client complained that some of the photos are without focus? how do you handle such a situation.? Question N2. I see that you have used various combinations of apertures, iso and speed. How do you manage to change your settings so you don't miss an important moment because it takes time and some test shots? do you use some of the priority modes or its 100% manual settings? Thank you in advance and a happy new 2025! PS. I would love some more videos with before after images with your presets and the way that we could tweak them :)
Hey! Glad you enjoy it, and of course if you have any questions about the preset you can always email hellolukecleland@gmail.com I’ve never had a client complain about soft focus. I think it depends if it’s intentional or not. If there’s a family photo with very soft focus that would be an issue, the photo that I showed, I intentionally included it because it is soft focus. There were was another photo that was sharp but it didn’t look as good. I use full manual mode for shooting weddings. The fastest way to explain it is that I set the settings at the beginning of each scene and then plan on only changing one setting while I’m shooting. Great idea!
I have been learning photography for about a year now and I have consumed so much of your videos, even if I am not sure of wanting to become a wedding photographer. I first learn about Light and Airy from your videos and I fell in love with it. So far, your pictures in that style are my favorites among many other Light and Airy photographer I follow. I also enjoy watching your subcriber numbers grow, as if you were someone I know personally. I enjoy this video so much but I wish the info about your settings was just a bit more legible. The characters were not the easiest to read even if I watch the video in the highest resolution. I understand it is problably because everything just fits the light and airy style.
Awesome! That’s so great to hear you’re new to photography! And I’m glad you are enjoying the videos. Thanks for those kind words! 🙏🏻 Thanks for that feedback I’ll definitely keep that in mind in the future so the settings are easier to read!
@lukewtcleland Thanks, BTW, I bought your light and airy preset 2 months ago, and it's been an absolute game changer! I love the look of Kodak Portra 400 as well, and I think that's what gives your preset a more unique look compared to other Light and Airy photographer's I've seen.

Do you also use a wide angle primes? What do you use when you're in a tight room?
I also have a 35mm prime and a 24-70 if I’m in a very tight scenario.
Could you record on a tripod and get a still frane and get the same result instead of the 900 photos?
Hey Luke, do you use polarizing filters?
Nope!

I also use the Z6ii, so the colors work exactly as it should 😂
@@calebhelms2110 awesome that's so great to hear!
