I love that you looked at a range of neutrals even if they aren’t strictly in palette. I always enjoy tips on how to break the rules. I’d love more content on ‘safe zones’, ‘danger zones’ and ‘no fly zones’ for each season.
I had a nice silky scarf in pearl grey with cherry red and a touch of black line. Just like those colours draped on Giulia. But then I learnt I'm soft autumn 😂
Thank you for saying that about summers and black. As a cool summer with dark hair, black is my best neutral. Worn with the other colours in my palette, it creates the right amount of contrast for me. But i absolutely can't wear black as a "colour". If I wear a big block of it next to my face, people ask me if I need to go home sick! Though I can get away with a little black dress for special occasions if i really ramp up the intensity of my makeup. I guess that's cosplaying as a winter😂
You’ve broken the myths about neutrals!! It’s not just black and white or brown and cream. I love the examples you show to help give us ideas. Love your channel, and I’m learning so much! Thank you guys 💕
After you do an colour analysis you start "seeing" much better your perfect colours ,but neutrals are very confusing for most of us because people think neutrals are in the brown category, they forget about grey, black , cream ,butter and co. I usually go for cream/ butter/light khaki/ chocolate/ but also cognac browns for accessories when i do combination!
Your colouring also affects what's a neutral on you. A winter's "brown" is codovan, but if you put that same colour on a soft autumn, it's going to look like a deep red.
Not really. I’ve always thought of grey as a neutral and as a winter, i can’t wear anything with yellow so beige is out. Greys can be warm or cool. Sometimes it’s a bit difficult to see the undertone.
Awesome video! I also love that your undertones are opposite so you can easily teach us with one or the other. Let’s not forget your wonderful Italian mannerisms like eh! Nooo noooo! So educational and entertaining. Bravissimi❤
Love this video! I would add for Soft Summer taupe color as neutral when it's cool and with a decent amount of gray in it. It works very well with all my Summer colors.
I'm glad you talked about blue-greens at the end of the video ! And I would love to see an in depth video about blues and blue-greens. You typed me as a true autumn and I have ALWAYS struggled with these colors so I stay away from them... As for neutral colors, I love all the warm neutrals : cream, beige, chocolate... but it is so hard to find brown clothes where I live, I don't know why !
Dark autumn, possibly warm autumn here. same here. looking for more good chocolate and coffee browns and they're not easy to find in person so I'm kicking myself for passing up on a cute deep coffee blouse at the thrift store (it's never warm enough for that where I'm at but the shirt was sooo cute). I'd get a color analysis with you ladies if we're in the same area but I'm in a different country
Love the blue-green colors you highlighted at the end! I'd also loved to have seen camel, taupe, and cool off-white discussed, although I definitely have some better ideas about where those fall now than I did before.
I am soft summer and find it so hard working out my neutrals. There is such a fine balance between getting the right amount of coolness, warmth and softness. In some beiges I look washed out or sallow, but in some I look good. If I go too cool I look grey if I go too warm I look yellow. I wish there was a swatch of material samples that was available in just neutrals. 🤔
I have the same struggle! I think I might be a soft autumn and the balance of the characteristics is so hard to tell. I use burnt orange and aubergine as my neutrals but I don’t know if that counts :D
Oh yes I relate to this! I’m a soft summer too and sometimes I feel like the soft neutral seasons are overlooked when talking about warm and cool colors. I don’t agree that grey “always works” for summers, I look grey if the colour is too cool which grey almost always is. I rather need a warmer grey or a cooler beige, both are really difficult to find. A cool brown works well too, like a taupe.
I so relate to this. I'm also a soft summer but I have a very yellow overtone which throws me. The wrong shade can have me looking grey, sallow or even greenish 🙈 I mostly stick to wearing greens, blues, mid greys and some dusty pinks. I always look better in soft gold jewellery as well rather than silver...
As a predominantly light spring I tried wearing outfits of light warm beige, camel and a brown. I looked pasty and ill. Mid greens and blues suit me best.
When you mix the neutrals with the wrong colors it becomes very costumey like someone at an amusement park would be required to wear. Not flattering at all! I never noticed this before, this helps me so much to pick outfits!
I'm a dark winter, and I absolutely love a smoke grey combined with a deep cool plum purple. I tend to wear alot of black, but this is a softer look that still feels very elegant and little gothic in style. I also love a medium-light pearl grey combined with a midnight navy blue. I find that multiple neutral colours actually work well on me, so I might even combine this with a dark cool winter brown shoe and black! This combo also works well with a dark winter pomegranite flower red, (an almost vermillion red.)
I’m so glad you talked about black, it’s almost like a “screening color” to see who’s NOT a winter isn’t it? The funny thing is a lot of Asians like me naturally have DARK hair, yet when a non-winter dark haired Asian wears black there are dark shades all over their faces and they look much older. In my extended family of 9, only 4 of us can wear black well. We live in such a black-normative culture. 😅 Just one more thing, when Julia wore that crayon orange what happened to her face also happens to mine-and my favorite color is an orange! 😂😅
I like the creamy white and teal combo on Alessandra, and also orange with petroleum on Giulia. Maybe something about a "controlled clash" that makes it adventurous. The neutral that suits me best is charcoal grey. Even my eye makeup is often just charcoal grey. I love beige though and I'm happy I can often see beige on my mother, because that is her best neutral.
This was a super helpful video! Although I think I would have liked seeing more "bad examples" because I learn better what to look for. I'd love to see more videos like this, especially blues and teals. Thank you for making such great informative content!
My God lol you can literally see her face get warmer and light up as soon as she put that black cloth in front of it. Just beautiful. It's so opposite of how black will wash someone out when they have a warm undertone. I'm also a winter and I live in black lol. I like to do mostly black with pops of jewel tones to brighten things up.
Very helpful video! I'd love see one just on browns. As a Summer Soft, I think I can identify Rose Brown, but it would be great to see it next to Coffee and Chocolate to see how it's different. I'm struggling a little with identifying the cool-toned browns. Thank you!
I absolutely love your content! My original colouring is the same as Giulia’s and I have been dressing as a Winter for over 25 years. I found myself nodding constantly as she was being draped by Ale. Now that my hair has silvered, I find I cannot tolerate any warmth at all, even in a borderline warm neutral eg warm grey. Giulia’s face was priceless when she was draped in orange, I would have been running for the hills! No amount of my beloved petroleum would saved it for me. 😊
Your video was so helpful to determine and define what neutrals are. Showing the different season colors with each neutral helped to make even more sense of why certain neutrals work and some do not. The undertone is critical.
I really appreciate seeing you both in beautiful for you neutrals, even though they aren't your absolute best colors (navy and chocolate). After my analysis I dove head first into a strict and glorious obsession with my best colors. However, the gentle reminder that as a cool winter gal, I can still rock my black, is nice to hear. It's nice to see in action that one can wear confidently any color within their season palette. ❤ Also. Your offended faces when presented with your unflattering colors is hilarious. Gotta love it.
Agree with the comment about maybe another vid about using blues and other colours which could be neutrals. I’m a Bright Spring, but I’m also pear-shaped, so I tend to wear darker colours on my bottom half and the bright greens, pinks, and creams up top. I do have some brown skirts, but harder to find jeans and trousers in spring neutrals, so a vid about navies, mid-blues, (jeans!) and even greens would be great! As always, love your vids and your infectious smiles!
Got my analysis done virtually a few months ago by these lovely ladies, really recommend it. Still working on my summer light wardrobe, so this video is super helpful!
I'm a summer, and i find the same about beige. A red or grey undertone works best for me, but too much yellow in the beige and I look like I'm in liver failure.
I‘m a Summer and I love all greys and taupes, some black is still there and I combine it to my best summer colours. I love your channel, I already learned a lot. Please go on like this ❤
This is such a great video, as usual!! I also just wanted to say that I’ve used their virtual color analysis service and it’s absolutely amazing!!! These two ladies are IT! Edit: I actually have been eyeing glassesusa’s glasses! Going to use your link now!
You can see the camera adjusting when Alessandra (wearing black) is standing right behind Giulia, the black top surrounding her face is super harsh, her face reddens, her eye color becomes black. Then when Alessandra moves to the side to place a piece of fabric, Giulia lights up and softens.
@@terhif.1980 I agree. While no color is really neutral (gray is cool), I would guess a shade of white might still be best because it reflects the most light from the room.
Thank you for your video about neutrals! I have had the hardest time finding my best tones in neutral clothing other than black. So many articles of clothing are available in beige and greige. I have purged all of those from my wardrobe, because I just seemed to disappear when wearing them. I am a winter, and proved that I just need to stick to black and cool toned greys for my best neutrals. You also confirmed my thoughts that I can wear any shades of "blue greens" or teal tones from the Autumn season. They look amazing on my cool undertones with golden surface tones...especially when I combine them with black!
This is so so helpful, thank you! It answers so many questions Because I'm an artist, I can understand the mix up of what is considered neutral.. because neutral on the coluur wheel for paint colours doesnt translate to the effect against the skin! One is about pigment on paper, and one is about reflecting light against living cells. For example, the light grey instantly brought out the green in allesandras eyes so she looks vivid in one way because she has "mid brown" colouring.. but as soon as you switched to cream and chocolate colours her whole face lit up and you could see the glow across her whole face and that mysterious thing called harmony. From a perspective of paint, both are mid colours, or neutrals, but against the living body, its clear about the warm colour palette type. This also answers two of my main frustrations, beige and brown - it makes me realise I've been finding ashy greyer tones and darker blacky shades, when I need warmer more caramel shades and to pay attention to the undertone rather than the shade or colour.. and then also teal - I still find it one of the hardest ones to choose correctly because I cant tell if its a warm blue or a cool green, and some definitely cool me, so again, I think its a colur i need to buy in person rather than online to check its definitely a warm undertone shade and not in fact a cool shade that makes me dull.. but it does explain my confusion and i can see why it's a good blending colour if I can find a neutral shade that suits my warm autumn undertone. Thank you so much! As usual! ❤
So what happens if you're a neutral leaning season (not overly warm nor cool), if the other traits don't matter as much in picking neutrals I mean. Let's take a light spring or a soft autumn as an example, can they just pick any neutral as long as it's not too dark or bright, regardless undertone? or are they better off picking a warm neutral regardless of the lightness and intensity just as you said in your video? in the end the lightness and softness should be their main traits, right? and not the undertone? so if the answer is the latter, why is undertone then still winning in this case?
This is helpful for choosing pants. I like experimenting with tops and shoes so having the proper neutral foundation that way is what I've been trying to zoom in on.
Loved this video! I have a small recommendation for your visual chart. I think it would be excellent to change the fill color of the season you’re talking about with a color that is in that season instead of using the berry red color for all seasons 👍🏼
I'm a warm autumn as well, I find the light beiges hard to wear because I feel orange in them 😄 but they work better if I put some make up on. I prefer a saturated camel color and warm olive greens as well as a light cream and of course chocolate brown!
same for me! I feel I look quite bad in beige, of course better than in grey, but still. I prefer camel, choco brows or olive is a total neutral for me. I always thought beige is better for summers, I think a lot of them have lots of grey in it (like taupe)
I've always been a true (bold) winter, (the same coloring as Julia) getting compliments when I would wear black, cool-red, etc. Since I'm in my 60s now,. I find that the winter colors look too harsh on me. I'll put a red or a black shirt on and feel uncomfortable and take it off. I am really drawn to summer colors now, and that's all I buy and wear. My favorite neutral is cream! Your video was helpful!
I thought the same thing about my intensity as a winter until I recently cut all of the dye out of my hair and I found that my contrast level and coolness skyrocketed and now I can wear those gorgeous intense winter colours.
The rule not to wear balck with blue or with brown is meant for the darkest tones of those colours. What are you really avoiding is the impression that you didn't notice that it is not all black outfit or combination. I love to wear black with blue, even with winter navy (but not the cool summer navy). And I love your combination of black and cobalt blue, amazing on you!
I agree that black is harder for a lot of people to wear but I feel like summers have the hardest time. Springs look really dynamic in black, maybe not elegant, but I think it works. And I think it looks elegant on deep autumns. But I'm a summer and I switched my neutrals from black to gray and taupe/greige(gray+beige) and it looks SO much better. I would love to see a video on light neutrals specifically, I couldn't find one... One that talks about white, ivory, off-white, beige... I know white is too much for me but it's hard to find the right names to call those light colors when shopping online.
My favourite neutrals as a winter: navy, black, deep grayed-taupe, and pearly champagne. I don't know what to think about greys with my pale olive overtone: I tend to look yellow with pearl gray, green with a medium gray and silver and okay-ish with a blueish charcoal. For classic colours that are not neutrals, I always pick burgundy (total look or accessories). Light neutrals is a tough one for me because of my medium-high contrast: I look pasty in almost everything too light and too cool, or too light and warm.
I can see the point about keeping all the colors warm or cool. Unfortunately, I am a spring, and I cannot bear to part with my black leather pants, which are beautiful and were a big investment. Hopefully, the disharmony is lessened because they are away from my face!
I am bright spring so neutrals can be hard... My solution is to always use colorful neutrals like tan/camel, olive or forest green, navy blue, or rust. Overall I pretty much avoid any really neutral colors and try to just wear colors with colors! I pretty much am at the point wear I just wear colors and barely any neutrals. It's fun and it's memorable, no one else is doing that! Thanks for the great video.
Interesting....I am a Summer but I really suit 'cool' beiges - more stone colored. I also really suit cream and off-white but I am definitely a Summer not a Spring or Autumn. I am very cool with ashy hair. I guess I must be a soft Summer - maybe do a video on Soft Summer because I feel like I can wear some of the less warm Autumn shades like beige and cream.
I have a question about makeup. I am a (self diagnosed) Soft Summer. I always thought I was warm toned but really think I am cool toned. I have always worn and been drawn to warm colors. So being that Soft Autum is the sister season, that makes sense to me. Now I want to start wearing some cooler toned things and was wondering If I should adjust the makeup too when I am wearing cooler tones?
Hay! Oh my god you 3 ladys are aaaaamazing at teaching and explaining! I understood everything right away because you talk so clearly! I just dicovered you guys and i have been watching all the videos !! I have a question and hope you make a video about it. How to combine colors if you are a cool winter en cool summer, or when you can use colors of a category of 2 different seasons? Thanks for your help!!!
Today I went shopping and tried on a red striped sweater and another dark (almost black) swater. I was very confused because I think I'm summer, by your system; now I see that the red sweater was actually cherry red and 'black' was charcoal... It all makes sense when you explain it! But I myself just have to try on dozens of things to see which colors suit me. xD
My favorite neutral is black ... I tried browns and greys and beiges and creams but I feel the best with black and white. I hope, that I can send you my pictures soon, so I can be analysed, bc I think I'm autumn deep or winter deep. I don't know if my undertone is warm or cool, I think it's not my main characteristic, I think the others are stronger ... but I'm excited to hear what you will say. 😊 thank you for your content, I love watching I so much.
Love your channel! Your expertise and enthusiasm make your videos so fun to watch. I can see you like working with each other. Warm Spring here, and I love having a warm palette. I enjoy combining soft peach with teal or aubergine. Also like warm chocolate for my neutral, although it's harder to find.
Thank you so much for this content. I had a lightbulb Moment. I ( Winter cool) have this really comfortable pair of coudoroy beige Pants that i have tried to Wear since it is far away from my Face. It just Never looked right. Now i understand why. I will try to pair with petrol or finally donate them. Thank you again!!❤Greetings from germany
My experience as a spring is that my neutrals need to be far enough from my skin tone to look good on me. I guess the best neutral for me is cream, it is almost the only one I feel comfortable in 😅 I find beiges extra hard because they need to be so specific to suit me, often they are too grey for me and sometimes too warm, if thats even possible? Even browns often seem to clash with my yellowish blonde hair even if they go with my skin tone. I still wear black quite a lot but never near my face if I can avoid it. To me it doesnt look too bad as it is anyway a bright colour like spring palette and also doesnt really attract attention. Maybe I could next try dark browns in my bottom half. A question: I know artists use opposite colours to emphasize each other. What do you think about this in colour analysis and clothing?
So regarding the blue/green colors, it’s safe for everyone to wear them, even the ones that aren’t in your pallet? For example can I as a deep winter wear aquamarine?
Great vid🩷can you guys make a video about so many colour analysis (even famous ones) say that true seasons have a specific palette? Also can you please explain why some analysis use 16 palettes? Thanks
I love neutrals but I’m having a bit of an existential crisis. I had my colors done professionally when I was in middle school and have always thought I was an autumn. I’m about to turn 50 and thought I would have them redone since I’ve noticed my skin looks cooler. I was shocked to find out that I’m a soft summer with lots of dusty berry colors and teals and no browns or camels 🫨!
Thank you so much for this ladies, another amazingly informative video. You’ve now given me (a winter) the encouragement I needed to get rid of a beige dress I bought 2 years ago and just haven’t been able to bring myself to wear it. It makes sense now to why I’m always drawn to the neutrals black, charcoal and navy, they really do look best on me. Also, you both look stunning even without makeup! 😍🫶🏼
Love your videos ❤ i am learning so much! Specially loved when we Were showed the different blue for each season and when You say the colours correct name. Easier to shop clothes then. We want More educted videos like above and More personal colour analysis videos. Keep up the good work 🙏🥰❤🇸🇪
I love that you looked at a range of neutrals even if they aren’t strictly in palette. I always enjoy tips on how to break the rules.

Yes!
I had a nice silky scarf in pearl grey with cherry red and a touch of black line. Just like those colours draped on Giulia. But then I learnt I'm soft autumn 😂
Im autumn and i have a gray pearl cardigan that i love because its very cozy and warm 😮 surely i look sick everytime i wear it 😅
Thank you for saying that about summers and black. As a cool summer with dark hair, black is my best neutral. Worn with the other colours in my palette, it creates the right amount of contrast for me. But i absolutely can't wear black as a "colour". Though I can get away with a little black dress for special occasions if i really ramp up the intensity of my makeup. I guess that's cosplaying as a winter😂
The eggplant+cream combination is a staple for me as a dark autumn. I wear it so often it's practically a signature
That was my favourite combination on this video 🙂
I'm a deep summer, and I love that one on me, too. So long as the cream isn't too yellow.
Thank you for showing how we can make some colors work, instead of getting rid of a bunch of clothes that are not our exact match!
You’ve broken the myths about neutrals!! It’s not just black and white or brown and cream. I love the examples you show to help give us ideas. Love your channel, and I’m learning so much! Thank you guys 💕

Lol actually her face just knowing it was coming!
Or Julia's face with a warm neutral drape coming! Oh, nooo!!🎉

Two of the most delightful ladies online. Lots of very useful info here. Thank you!
White ,silver, and cool arctic grey are my favorite neutrals. Sometimes white cream, but not heavily yellowed cake batter creme.
Great video! Please do a video on whites and how they relate to each season.
There are beiges with warm undertone, but also with cool. I am an autumn, but i mußte pay attention to find the "right" beige for me

Ale looks like a bobble head / floating head when she wears gray or black!! You can totally tell it's out of palette. Love the video!
I‘m a Summer and I love all greys and taupes, some black is still there and I combine it to my best summer colours.
I love your channel, I already learned a lot. Please go on like this ❤
I wear black even though I am a deep autumn. I just add warm accessories and makeup.
I did that today because I have so much black, but I warmed it up with jewelry & a silky dark rust top. I felt very chic!
Teals ahh I love them all!

Edit: I actually have been eyeing glassesusa’s glasses! Going to use your link now!
Could you please analyze natural fabrics for their color sometime? Like, undyed wool, linen, cotton, silk, hemp etc.
I can't get over how much even the ROOM paint color enhances the cool toned Julia and not so much warm Alexandra.
It's bizarre indeed!
Contrast. Yeah, way different.
Giulia looks so cute and fresh in white! And beautiful in charcoal.
Exquisite in charcoal!
You can see the camera adjusting when Alessandra (wearing black) is standing right behind Giulia, the black top surrounding her face is super harsh, her face reddens, her eye color becomes black. Then when Alessandra moves to the side to place a piece of fabric, Giulia lights up and softens.
It would be nice if the analyst could wear a very neutral grey for example.
It answers so many questions
Because I'm an artist, I can understand the mix up of what is considered neutral.. because neutral on the coluur wheel for paint colours doesnt translate to the effect against the skin!
As usual! ❤
Excellent video. I look like a nun in grey and black and warm chocolate brown totally lights me up.
Perfect analogy! Yes, a nun, because the colors erase all the brilliance and color from the face!
A question. Why was cool toned white not part of Julia’s neutrals?
Love the video❤.
Thanks for the feedback, we thought about that too!
Im a dark autumn and black is still my favorite neutral.
Same honestly, we really fit deep winter colors too ! It's our superpower ✨
@@SaraMuzi The fact that I have quite fair skin probably plays a role as well, when I used to get tanned in the past beiges did look good.
I’m on the hunt for a great camel blazer!
I now rely on coffee even more: in my palette AND to get through the day!
If you realy are a winter in their system, you are cool and cream would be one of the worst color on you. cream looks only good on very warm people.
Interesting I think they mentioned intensity does decrease as we get older but undertone doesn’t change ❤
I thought the same thing about my intensity as a winter until I recently cut all of the dye out of my hair and I found that my contrast level and coolness skyrocketed and now I can wear those gorgeous intense winter colours.
Yay, excited for the new video!! I was just looking at your instagram shorts to get ideas for neutrals 😅 PERFECT TIMING ❤🤗
si parla spesso di grigi freddi, ma per quanto riguarda invece quelli caldi? Sarebbe bello se ne poteste parlare in futuro, amo i vostri video!
Yaaaaayyyy! Was really looking forward to this! ❤️🩷🧡💙💜🤎
love that you added the segment about blue greens, they're so confusing to me 😂
I actually love olive and black. Also if you are autumn deep, can I wear black? Since my sister palette is deep winter, black is part of it.
As a warm autumn, I’ve decided I’m keeping my black bottoms & some black tops, but will warm them up
Very happy to see my question about teal/blue green answered here:)
But I myself just have to try on dozens of things to see which colors suit me. xD
I like the blue green tip. I am warmtoned but don't really like brown so have been wearing black/grey despite it not being the best
Such a helpful video and I love that you’re even both wearing gorgeous neutral outfits.
So helpful!
I really appreciate the association between which neutral is better for ach season! Thanks
More please ❤
thank you!
Thanks for this great video on neutrals and how to use them. It was a very clear explanation!
I have been hoping to see Alessandra in drapes to compare spring and autumn and now it is here! That warm chocolate brown is beautiful!
I love the black dress you're wearing in this video, Giulia! Where did you buy it?
What do you think about this in colour analysis and clothing?
very very interesting, thank you so much! i’m looking forward to more consultations! i’ve watched them all❤
As always a WONDERFUL video😍 you ladies are just the BEST🥳 It was very inspiring to see these beautiful combinations 🤓😍
Thanks
What a great video, thank you ❣
I love neutrals but I’m having a bit of an existential crisis.
Giulia, your skin is beautiful! I think you might look better without makeup! ❤
Thank you very much. I am a soft summer and always used the wrong neutrals until I watched your videos.
Thank you for this! I was just color analyzed yesterday and am an autumn. I need more browns and creams. My closet is full of black and grey.
so incredibly useful!
Absolutely on spot with this video. So very informative!
I am always happy when I see that you have posted a New Video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Love your videos ❤ i am learning so much! Specially loved when we Were showed the different blue for each season and when You say the colours correct name. Easier to shop clothes then. We want More educted videos like above and More personal colour analysis videos. Keep up the good work 🙏🥰❤🇸🇪
I am soft autumn and my wardrobe is 80% black 🥲😂 the neutrals arent so forgiving 😂
I’m definitely going to explore aquamarine more.
