  • Sorry I couldn't figure out how to put words on the video (This old lady needs a course!) So Here are rough instructions.
Medium weight (4) yarn. 5.5mm hook (i like my stitches loose, use a smaller (4mm)hook if you want them tighter). I'm using 2 colors in the video, but you can do the heart rows in different colors if you like. I will be cutting the yarn at the ends of each heart row but not the white.
Row 1: (white yarn)chain in multiples of 6 until you get the width you would like. Must be multiples of 6 not 3. after you've done your multiples of 6, chain 2 and turn.
Row 2: After you've turned, starting in the 3rd chain from the hook, Double crochet into each chain. At the end use a stitch marker to hold your loop and remove your hook. Do not cut yarn.
(if you can double crochet foundation stitch you can do that in multiples of 6 if you like)
Row 3. (use yarn color for your hearts) Skip the first 3 double crochets of Row 2. In between 3 & 4 you will crochet 6 double crochets (cluster). Skip 6 double crochets from row 2 and do another cluster of 6 double crochets. You should have 3 double crochets on the end like you do at the beginning. Cut the yarn and put your hook back where you left off with the white yarn.
Row 4. With your hook back in the white yarn, chain two and work 3 double crochets into the 3 from the previous row. Then slipstitch into the first stitch of the heart. chain 2. *skip 3 of the double crochets in the heart and put a puff stitch in the center of the heart (separating the cluster of 6, 3 on each side). chain 1. Then find he middle 2 double crochets from Row 1 and double crochet into the both of the top loops of each stitch. You will be hiding the cross over part of the heart. after the 2 double crochets you will chain one and repeat from *....when you get to the end of the last heart of the row, you will slip stitch in the last double crochet of the heart. You will then do a double crochet into the last three double crochets. Chain 2 and turn
Row 5. Crochet a double crochet into the first 3 double crochets and then in each empty space above the heart you will do 3 double crochets. There should be 6 double crochets above each heart. Continue down the row, no chain spaces. just 3 double crochets in each empty space. at the end put a stitch marker to hold the white yarn and remove your hook.
Row 6. This is where you might get thrown off by noticing an extra cluster of 3 double crochets of the white yarn. You need to do a double crochet in the first 3 double crochets from the previous row, but then slip stitch right into the first stitch of the heart. you will not stitch into that next cluster of three below. and then continue down the heart as you did in Row 4. and when you get to the end, slip stitch into the last stitch of the heart and then do your 3 double crochets on the edge, chain two and turn. From there you will repeat Row 3 to make the hearts.
My video didn't talk about the last row, because I haven't gotten there myself, but you will end on a Row 5 and if you want a more based edge you can chain one at the end, turn and single crochet down each stitch to base it.
Sorry this was done on the fly after my tiktok live this morning and I wanted to make sure you guys have it! comment with questions and I'll try to sort it out.

I've never seen anyone crochet that way before. (Pulling down vs, reach up and yarn over and through) I was taught a long time ago to do it differently which I thought everyone did it the same way.

Just found your channel & LOVE this afghan 🤩😍
Thank you so much for your time to help teach those of us who desperately need tutorials to learn.
I also enjoy crocheting unique shaped & 3-D flowers &/or fancy borders with cotton yarn for washcloths/dishcloths that I gift to charities, friends & family.
Unfortunately I cannot find that many unique ones & would love to find a pretty flower hexagon shaped cotton dishcloth size tutorial?
I also see MANY beautiful coasters that have gorgeous borders, I know how to make the circle bigger but don’t know if the border will fit right & have the proper amount of stitches to finish it evenly… if that makes sense…😂
I know basic stitches & many other stitches but I am not creative & don’t know how to create & make stitch count come out right.

    I love the blanket
It looks beautiful. I was just wondering what type of border are you going to make on the blanket? The edges are not very straight. Just wondering if you made a border on your blanket?❤

I’m not completely finished yet and I’ve been debating a border too. I might just do a single crochet around twice. With the white/cream. I’ll post a video if I do
