How To Crochet the Heart Stitch! Easy pattern, very suitable for beginners

For this pattern you always want to be chaining a mutiple of 4 +1.
In this video I'll be chaining 21.
Start by making a slip knot and chain your chosen number of stitches.
Sc across for the first 2 rows. Turn your work after each row.
For row 3: * sc 2, heart stitch* Repeat in between .. end the row with sc 2 (hold red yarn on back of work)
Row 4: sc across (hiding the red yarn in between the white yarn) (hold red yarn in front of work)
Row 5: * sc 2, heart stitch* Repeat in between .. end the row with sc 2 (hold red yarn on back of work)
Row 6: sc across (hiding the red yarn in between the white yarn) (hold red yarn in front of work)
Repeat however many rows you want
End with 2 rows of just sc across.

Does anybody have any tips for using something like this in a sweater pattern? I'd love to recreate this in an in-the-round sweater but I'm not quite sure how to adjust my pattern to accommodate the multiples-of-four-plus-one stitches needed to make the hearts work? This is just so cute!

You could use this pattern by just making a front and a back panel by just crocheting 2 squares
Than adding the sleeves..:)

my hearts look more like parallel lines then hearts 🥲 am I doing something wrong or is your red yarn more fluffy so it looks better?

I haven't tried the pattern myself yet so I'm not entirely sure, but your tension is probably off. Try crocheting with less tension if your stitches are super tight and that should fix it :)
