I use moon light modes in my flashlights way more than I use turbo mode. Find myself always crawling back to my s2r baton for that low 1 lumin while my daughter is asleep in my tiny house.
06:50 Ah! But the fenix is compatible with many different brands of batteries, high drain batteries branded by nitecore will work with it, unprotected samsung 40T's will work with it too. The olight requires a battery straight from olight and nothing else will work with an olight.
Sooo...just buy extra batteries from Olight. What's the problem? Also there are single sided batteries available from other manufacturers you just need to know what you're looking for. Though again...don't see a problem with just ordering more batteries from Olight, especially since they're fairly priced. Also there's a reason they use those custom batteries. It's so you can have the ability for magnetic base charging, magnetic tail caps, and pressure switch capabilities. All useful features not found on other lights.
As someone who has had to rely on a tactical style flashlight daily, (depending upon how well it works) I could possibly appreciate the proximity sensor. Any light I ever used with a tail switch had the accidental turn on no matter how or where it was carried. That can be funny (haha) if it is closer to your back, stepping out of an automobile looking like a massive firefly...not so funny though if it happens when you have arrived at work, it was a much longer ride to work than normal and you know there will be overtime (yeah that all happened once, so had to begin carrying a spare battery set).
@@MySledgeHammer As someone who absolutely depended on everything that I wore when I worked using a flashlight, sometimes in a multitude of environments all in one shift, I agree with a lot of what you say; but many times a even locks, sheaths, retaining equipment in general fails. I know because I have had everything fail at some point. Sometimes no matter how you wear your flashlight, it still gets turned on without your knowledge, and ones brain has nothing to do with it.

Nitecore in the last 4 years have excelled, considered Nitecore. Olight, Fenix and Nitecore are always my recommendations with Thrunite to save a few $
I left streamlight and made the switch to Fenix. Top notch quality and great charging system. I carry the baton 3 pro max as EDC, and switch between the Fenix PD36R pro
I watch a LOT of flashlight videos (yes flashlight nerd) that was without a doubt the most interesting and entertaining flashlight video I have ever watched. 👍
I couldn't disagree more on this part... 5 modes is better, if you are someone of many trades. I use all 5 of my tk20, depending on what I need and why I need it. 10 would be excessive, but 5 is incredibly necessary
The Olight goes instantly into strobe mode by pressing 3 times on the side button. It’s a perfect way to do it because it keeps the strobe out of the normal rotation of levels. Second, just because the Fenix picks default levels that are brighter doesn’t mean it is better. What really matters is to see the brightness curves over time. Perhaps the Olight stays at 800 lumens for 3 hours and the Fenix starts at 1000 but drops after 22 seconds and goes to 600 for 2.5 hours. That would make the Olight better. Not saying that is what happens, but without you showing what happens, one can’t decide which is better.
The TK is a double tail switch = instant strobe from off or half a second delay when on. My tk dosent drop when the 1000 lumen mode is on, so not sure where that 22 seconds comes from ?
I think these two lights are actually very different so its not entirely fair to compare them. In my opinion having a small reflector and high output (relative to form factor) to achieve "throw" isnt really ideal on any light. You'll just waste your battery boosting the light for short cycles and eventually it will overheat causing those cycles to become even shorter. We all know lumens and throw sell because high numbers are fun but for real world practical applications I gotta give this one to olight.
Hi I was wondering if you’ve noticed a small faint shadow in the center of the hot spot? I’m wondering if it’s from the proximity sensor or if mine has a defect.
This is a phenomena called the shadow of the LED. You can try it with any LED flashlight, turn one on, low, med, high setting and if as you get really close to a wall you will see a clear dark square, which is basically the anti-reflection of the LED diode.
This review was very entertaining. KNOWING the actual features of the warrior 3s like the sensor being a valuable safety and it CAN be disabled made this review not only incredibly biased but also hilarious, seriously. Why would anyone want to fiddle with any usb reversible or not rather than ...snap, done!? Okay its proprietary but how likely is the stainless steel tail button going to last compared to your rubber? This was definitely a joke and I'm buying a warrior 3s right away 🤣 🤣 🤣
Plenty of people have used and abused the Fenix lights for years on end, and the button rubber doesn't seem to go anywhere. The rubber flaps for the USB ports however do. More annoying than a real problem, and with a ring it isn't an issue on this model anyways.
Why would they name it the tk20 r v2? It wouldn't make sense. Then there would be two versions with the similar names when the real tk20 v2 comes out. Also tk20r v2 lacks the glass breaking points from the tk16 v2, so i wouldnt call it a upgrade. Tk16 v2 is more a flood, tk20r v2 is a thrower.
"Obviously this is a terrible way of doing ... anything" ... yeah. Yeah it was. It all was. I don't blame you I blame whoever is in charge of your meds 😊
FYI - As a deer hunter, if you shoot late in the evening before it gets dark, then you track it at night. Other game, like raccoons are hunted at night.
I have both and I agree with one statement overall from this review: the 3s is more a gadget than a tool. The fenix is a tool. It is more functional on a day to day basis. The buttons are more readily available. Now if I could ONLY have one, I’d pick the warrior 3s because of moonlight mode. If I can have both flash lights, tk20r (or more functional fenix in general) I’d choose fenix 80% of the time, olight only if “I can only bring one”. For me, more modes flashy buttons doesn’t = better. It’s like a multi tool, awesome to have a massive do it all, but usually all you need is the basic 5 tool instead.
I see, I always wondered because I see different things on hunting videos on youtube. There was one where video like you described where the guys were filming coyotes at night, and they didn't seem phased at all when a giant spotlight was put on them.
Lol about the deer..deer freeze in a spot light(the whole deer in the headlights saying)it would be great if they did run then they might have a chance against the few lame hunters who shoot them when spot lighting.

Longhorn Tactical what flashlight has more throw then 600 and at least 4,000 lumins thank you Stan

Hunters would want distance for searching After wounded or dead game that did not drop dead, for example.
I also like that Olight has a magnetic tail, button lock, and visible battery life indicator.
I agree the warrior 3s is better looking but the Fenix tk20 performs better
No question about it.
Is this a serious or joke video? I can't tell. We all wanted to see beam shots. We can read all these specs online sir
Love the hot spot on the warrior and all Olights in general but it just doesn't throw far enough for me.
that's totally fair!

Some side-by-side beam comparisons outside would have really benefited this video and a lot of us that trying to decide which one to get.

Red beams and green beams for hunting 06:19
Red is for deer
Green is for hogs
you think deer are going to run away if you shine a bright light at them?
you've never heard of a "deer caught in headlights" ?
wow!
I think "TK" at Fenix is for "Tanking". On the French site it's what is said.

S on car models means 'sports' or "super charged".

The TK20R v2.0 is the upgraded TK16 v2.0 not the next TK20. As per Fenix reps. Just sayin
