Fantastic tutorial! I’ve never seen color correction explained this well. Love you AND your Mum! I’m 60, so it’s nice to see products used on more mature skin like mine. Have a lovely and blessed Christmas 🎄! Patti
Beautiful job! I love the color corrector but you are absolutely correct in that any more than the tiniest amount can make you look very strange. So nice to see you and your Mom having such fun together.
As always I know when you post a topic it’s going to be well presented and educational. It’s inspirational to see new products and techniques that I didn’t learn (or didn’t exist) when I was younger can be enjoyed with the right adjustments. Thanks to you two beautiful ladies for sharing.
I'm sold! I've never had good luck using color correctors. But after watching your video, I now know the products I've tried in the past were too dark for my skin tone, thus being almost impossible to hide under foundation and concealer. Thanks for the thorough explanation and demo on your Mum. :) Yes, she is a trooper!
I just love the videos with your Mum..they are so special. She's a few years younger than me but we have very similar coloring and videos like these are enormously helpful to me. I finally know what color corrector to purchase. Thank you beautiful ladies!
I always wondered why nobody else had dark circles and uneven skin tone. Simple-colour corrector.. now to invest in the colour wheel and to start experimenting. You have really opened my eyes into how to look good, loving embracing the change.
Great explanation of the color wheel! As a hairstylist I use this everyday. So all these colors, also apply to hair! Love how you teach, and enjoy the world of beauty. Keep up the good work😊.
Thanks for the information Gemma! I have not worn make up in 12 years, I actually have a notebook to keep track of products and methods. You have contributed so much to my knowledge. I am totally going to score this pallette, what a great price.
Excellent job explaing. She looks fantastic. You can't tell that you put product that she didn't need. I was going to ask for a video on how to tell if you have cool under tones or warm? If you are a spring/summer ir a fall/winter.
Great video! I had got that colour corrector palette for our teenage niece for her birthday along with other bits, so I think I'll send my sis in law the link to this video so our niece gets some great tips if she needs them! Your mum is as beautiful as you are!! xXx
Thx sooo much! I used to use colourcorrector with my fingers. And I always used way too much. So u started using a brush (Concealer brush) and it works sooo much better! Blending is far easier! 👌🏻
Thank you Gemma 🙂 I just wanted to say that Jan looks stunning without make up ❤️ I always pop on your channel if I'm looking for some advice about beauty. You're a superstar!
Extremely interesting. I only knew about green for muting redness. Worth knowing how to apply it as well, as I remember overdoing the green once and ending up with an ashen looking face!!! Your Ma's an angel letting you do all this stuff to her face. The camouflage palette is dirt cheap, so there's really no excuse for any of us not to have one.
Thank you so much. I've only used green for my red areas, nothing for the blue. Also, I found the different shades in the palette confusing. I thank you and your Mum for your help. 😀
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've always found the rows of colour correctors in shops an absolute minefield but now cannot wait to get started. Fantastic video as ever and how brave your Mum is! I'm so grateful to her too xxx
Great tutorial on this colour palette and how to use. I never really new about them until I saw this video last week. I am over 50 and have different skin colours and I was amazed how good you mum looked. I thought I have to give this a go so I bought a colour wheel and the same palette that you have used. I was a bit dubious at first but wow was I impressed when I had my make up on. Thank you to you both.
Best video ever. I have realized I have been using something too orange for my skin tone. I really love your videos. Thanks to your mom also! Thank you both for your precious effort and time ♥️♥️
Jan your under eye area looks amazing. You look like sisters. Really enjoyed the video. I’ll need to purchase a colour wheel for myself. I’m tortured with really dark under eyes. It good to know you can use more than one colour corrector. Thanks ladies! Xx
I have just realised I've been using the wrong colour corrector under my eyes - after years of thinking I needed peach, it turns out I need yellow! Thank you for demonstrating this so we'll. Xx
Please thank your mom for taking off all of her make up. She is a trooper :-) reminds me of my mom and myself. My little lady has dementia But she would let me do absolutely anything I wanted to her because we are a super team just like you and your mom :-) now if only I could apply make up like you :-) thank you so much for your super explanations. Much-needed.
The relationship you have with your mum must give you great strength. My Nan had Dementia, I know how hard and heartbreaking it can be so my thoughts are with you xxx
That was super interesting and so well explained. Ive always been totally confused by the whole colour corrector business! However, this explained it perfectly so i shall have to grab myself some colours and one of those colour wheels! Thanks to your beautiful Mum for so graciously helping out. I remember you saying that your Dad once said she doesnt answer the phone without a full face of makeup so I appreciate her sacrifice! Wishing you and the family a very Merry Christmas Gemma and all the very best for the New Year. Merry Christmas to Jan also xx
Great tutorial! I bought a NYX correction pad with six colors (inexpensive). I then tried the various colors to see which corrected my various issues the best. Found the perfect correction color I needed and now I can buy the correct shade in my favorite brand. Although the NYX version is very nice. I thought I needed green but I needed peach. Thanks for the tip on the right amount to use and how to apply it. Didn’t know I needed this but wow what a difference it made.
Beautiful lippie on your mom! very good tutorial with a bit of British humour? thanks you two. Also love your day look, do you have a tutorial on that?
Jan...you have the most beautiful skin. I am one year older but look like the ‘Wreck of the Hespers’ by comparison...you are the best mom ever...and I think you lucked into a pretty fantastic daughter too ! 🇨🇦

Thank you Gemma and Jan, I have been waiting for this video and perfectly timed for Christmas 🎄 parties coming up!! Jan looks amazing her makeup looks so beautiful. Thanks again my love xx
Where's the LOVE, LOVE, LOVE icon??? I commented in an earlier video that I've tried all forms and colors of color corrector, but I always ended up looking like a clown! NOW I KNOW WHY! I have fair skin, and all the correctors I've tried are medium, bright hues--NOT pastels! I never knew that pastel correctors exist! And the end result for your mother (even BEFORE the application of any other makeup) is amazing! I can't get over how the correctors brightened and evened out her complexion. I am in such a happy, happy place right now! THANK YOU!!
I only used that palette for ease. Like I said in the video Barb, I don't like cream products on mature skin, so I wouldn't use that palette on myself or my mum usually. I much prefer liquid products xxx
Hi Gemma, ¡very good video!, it was great to see your lovely Mom Jan again, she's so proud of you, I can notice it. Loves to both of you and ¡Merry Christmas to you and your family!😘😘☃️❄️
Thanks for the video! Would you mind addressing which color corrector to use for brown/sun spots? I've heard that you should use "orange or salmon" color. However, I didn't see what the complementary color was for brown spots on your color wheel. One more thing, when I attempt to apply the foundation over the color corrector, it smears and then it disappears. So I end up with brown spots still showing through the foundation. I'm really interested in seeing how to apply foundation and powder over the color corrector. Thank you so much! :)
Ah! Loved this! I need that wheel and that palette! You and your mom are so cute together and she is very pretty! Must be where you get it from. :). XO
Thank you. What a great video. What shade of CYO is your mom wearing? I’m similar to her in color and age and am very interested in knowing how she liked that foundation and how it wore on her. It’s nice to see how something wears on your skin AND your mom’s. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
