I’ve been watching you and have been subscribed for months. I’ve never commented until now but you are a real sweetheart!!

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this video! This has been incredibly helpful. I wore contact lenses for 20 years before my eyes became so dry that I was no longer able to. I have been wearing glasses full time now for 10 years but only started wearing makeup regularly about seven years ago. I tried these techniques for my eye makeup today and it was so great! Thank you again!
PS. I ordered a sweatshirt yesterday and can’t wait to receive it. Cheers from Oregon, US!

I'm also a 'Type 1' parent. Which is another reason your videos are so helpful. Keep doing what you're doing. You are a pleasure to spend time with. I've learned so much since discovering your channel. A 54 yr old who (like your Mum) intends to stay modern and have fun 😀

Great video as always, thank you. I find the best thing about being short sighted is when I look in the mirror without my glasses on I look 10 years younger, fantastic natural air-brushed soft focus affect and didn’t cost a penny. Sadly to do more than walk across the bedroom without tripping over I have to put the glasses back on 😂

Thank you! I've found myself having to wear glasses much more often than my contact lenses (whimper). And I've always felt as if my glasses detracted from the makeup and made me look older or, at the very least, very very tired (whimper, cry). Thank you so much for your helpful tips even though I'm only just seeing this video now, this will be immensely helpful for me in the future. You're a beautiful, lady, thank you again.

You really did your research for this one, Gemma! Top marks! The only advice for glasses wearers I ever read was that we could go bolder with our makeup and how to pick frames to fit your face shape.. You covered issues no one ever addressed...foundation rubbing off, how eye size is impacted by the kind of lens..all great information. Big thumbs up! Hope Seth is doing better today. Love to you both! XX

If your glasses slip down your nose, your Optician needs to readjust them. This is a free service and should be done occasionally as glasses will loosen over time xXx 😘💋💜

Brilliant video Gemma, I'm sure this has and will help lots of ladies. I wear glasses 90% of the day. I wear one style for reading and a different style for the remainder of the time. I use the no make-up tip in the summer, my nose gets a tad sweaty and this tip works well.
My holy grail for ensuring my makeup lasts on my nose all day, from 6AM until 10pm is the god of foundations, Double Wear, powder and a really good setting spray topped with a finishing powder.
My foundation stays in place and i will have an impression of the glass pads on my nose, but the foundation will be perfect for 14+ hours.
I loved the way you demonstrated the contrast in using eye shadow to alter the eye to compliment the glasses and lenses.
I hope wee Seth is feeling much better, a tough night for you both Gemma x

Thank you so much for this, Gemma! I’ve worn glasses most of my life and my lenses are a little thick with a strong prescription, so they make my eyes smaller when I don’t have makeup on. I love to play up my eyes, so all these tricks and tips will really help! Hope everyone is feeling better!😁❤️

Really nice. Very helpful for this old lady! Never thought about my eyebrows. IT WORKS!
    You seem very sweet.
BTW I’m 76. Still do my skincare routine and makeup every day and night. That’s secret to nice skin as age.
Oh, on anther video I got the hack to cut a little square of a cotton pad to fit the pad on glasses, put on with lash glue and that helps foundation not move and helps less imprint on nose.

  • @Evolve_with_jen

Great video. You just showed me that the way I do my liner is making my eyes smaller. Am going to start doing the half eye thing you’ve done here. Another tip is to use alcohol to clean the nose things before putting the glasses on. Old makeup and sweat etc will also make your glasses slip down. I’m totally enjoying you! You rock

Hi Gemma, great video, really good tips, I have my glasses adjusted all the time and still have problems. The little plastic thingies are "nose pads", though I find that I get along better with frames that don't have these.

I've worn glasses all of my adult life. I've never had any of those issues if your glasses are sliding, are too low, just get a new pair or make sure you actually get a pair that fits properly any opticians will help with that. My foundation never rubs off my nose or cheeks. To compensate the glasses I just wear bolder eye shadow colours. And have glasses that actually shows off my eyes properly. Only problem I have is having to be right up to the mirror to see lol. Love your frames xx

Thank you Gemma for tackling this video in the way you did. I have never seen another like it. Researching issues that you personally don't have will help a larger audience. My glasses are on for all my waking hours and sometimes a few dozing hours too. I buy them frameless and as small as possible to minimize the weight. I never thought to not put foundation on the bridge of my nose. I will try your trick.

A lot of these issues are due to Optical Dispensers not recommending correct frame for your face and not adjusted correctly. Also I highly recommend anti-reflection coating and Blue control. When purchasing glasses you have to take into account extra weight once your prescription lenses are fitted. They’re called nose pads generally on metal frames.

Just a comment since I voted for the eyeglass video and gave you a thumbs up as a review. However, what I was looking for was a tutorial on how to make up your eyes so they'll show up and look good behind the glasses. My glasses do not make my eyes look big or small, what I'd like to know - I have "mature eyes" is how big or dark to go with eye shadow, eye liners etc. Do I still put glittery shadows in the middle of the eye bed? Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks for the help.

To make your eyes look bigger, use a liner on the top lash line, and a sparkly eye shadow on the lid. I thought I included that info in the vid...sorry xxx
