update: we had to put Mahlah down 2/2/21. she was a fantastic pup who became a best friend to our kids as they came along. she'll be missed!

What a gorgeous Boof. She made me laugh out loud from half a world away and some 12 years later! It's lovely to read that she made a huge impression on your little ones. I have a Ridgeback x Mastiff girl, nearing 3 years old and she does the same mad zoomies! She has the most beautiful nature and a physique so similar to your Mahlah, just with a boxier head.
This was a delight to randomly be suggested by RUclips on my feed! Thanks for sharing a little bit of her personality with us all.
Sorry for your lost. She sure looks like she gave you amazing years. I have a ridgeless RR, he's 4 months old, huge and elegant.

my ridgeback does this too! in the mornings he gets so playful and excited, but the rest of the day he is docile. obsessed with this dog.
She's beautiful! I have a 9 and 12 year old and reminds me of when they were pups. AHA~! I knew those peaks were Colorado..beautiful.

@TheChakamama My Zak and Nala have a funny five minutes too. Zak's tail bends in half and he runs around like a loon. especially if it is long grass or some kind of bouncy stuff like see heather. I love seeing it, always makes me smile.
beautiful dog..and a beautiful area man...I am loving my pup and I agree with what everyone is saying..this breed was made to run...and boy do they look good doing it!
Thanks. The mountain is Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs. Her dad came from South Africa though...

What a great dog! My 4 year-old Ridgeback mix named Milo is healing from a leg injury so he can't run like that right now, unfortunately. Beautiful mountains in background too. South Africa, I assume?
as for ours she likes to hit the swampy long grass zig zagging at 100% full throttle , as well as lying on the couch with her head and paws on my leg, we love her she's fantastic.

@Ukiwi I have never seen this dog run as fast as she does at 13000 feet when we hike the Colorado 14ers. She FLIES at altitude, its crazy. (Then she sleeps on her chair for a week.:)

I reckon all that careering around is what they're supposed to do when they corner a lion - my RR often does that when we're at the play part of our walk
@PikesXterra I have a RR with the same name!! We spell it Malah. And yes they will MAKE you exercise!!
My favorite part is @ :52...she hits the go button..
@mangravy2000 It is funny how Mahlah is now 4 and doesn't quite has this enthusiasm anymore. However she flies when she see a jack rabbit or antelope in this field.
And yes, only get a RR if you are willing to actually be active with your dog. She is a big inspiration for exercise. If you want a dog to fetch your slippers and hang out in the backyard, this is not the dog for you!

i love in England now and the houses in this place are far too small to keep a dog of this size. it just wouldn't be right to keep a beautiful dog like this couped up in a small house
I live in small flat and have one... there is no problem if you go outside for a long and distance walk through nature. There she can run and jup... at home she likes to cutle and to sleep and to watch the naiborhood from balcony... there is no problem to have one in smal place... except it must be warm and cousy and be in your presence...
