Well, you have done it again. I am sitting here watching this video with tears streaming down my face. 7 years ago I lost my dog, she was 11 years old . I was devistated and within a 1 1/2 months I met my "Penny". (named after your Penny of course). The love of my life and she was just like yours! Crazy, full of energy and mayhem. My soul dog. I lost her to cancer 3 weeks ago at the age of 7💔. My heart is broken and I feel like it will never heal. My friends tell me to get another dog (like I did the first time) but I just can't , another dog will not be my Penny. Much love and Happy birthday to "Penny Mayhem" , give her a big hug and kiss from me. ❣
Penny is an original. She also is a twin of my RR who is one month younger. I watched my RR and Penny travel life from puppy, adult, to now sleepy pensioner. Happy birthday Penny.

Lifelong RR lover and owner here and my one female was a near twin in personality to Penny. Oh she tested me!! Dying laughing now, and while my heart will forever hve a big spot for her, the boys are soooo much easier!!

I feel your pain. Lost my RR at 5 Y/O due to bloating. 3 years later, I bought 3 RR pups from different litters. All 3 died at 12 weeks due to cat flu contracted from a cross RR rescue I had. I can not express enough how guilty I feel that I was responsible for their deaths. By far, the best breed of dog ever. I haven't owned another dog since.
I Also had a Rhodesian Ridgeback named Penny! - such a wolderfull soul she was, she Died the day she turend 11 - broke my heart!

Oh, I missed you guys!
Crying already and I'm not even 2 minutes into this video! My Ridgeback/Labrador girl will be 12 years old in May. She's not a very social dog and rarely gets along with others. I had her since she was 7 weeks old - the litter had to move out because mom was attacking her own pups (one dead and my girl injured) and the family had no room to keep a litter of 8, seperate from mom at all times. My Zoé heals my heart just as much as she drives me crazy at time. I wouldn't trade her for the world though. She's been my lifeline many a times and we have definitely grown together and learned from each other. That's why I like the way Cesar Millan says it "You don't get the dog you want - but the dog you need".
Long story short - happy 10th birthday, Miss Penny Mayhem! May there be many more to come and enjoy!
I remember watching the video you posted about losing your ridgie.. I lost mine around the same time. Many years ago. Have yet to get another.

My father-in-law has a huge healthy RR who is 2. The dog is friendly and loving and food is everything to him. Now I live with my father-in-law, I want to help out with the dog and hope I can teach him new things especially as I like to run and want to take Moose (the dog) running with me. After 2 running sessions he knows if I grab my traininers we're going out for a run - so I know he's smart and can learn new things. Moose (the dog not my father-in-law) still lunges at other dogs and doesn't really listen. Sodo you recommendd clicker training to positively reinforce good behaviour and commands? Any tips would be helpful!
