I never understood My grandkids watching other people play video games Until I started watching reseller videos ! LOL ! YOURS ARE THE BEST!
lol very funny and a good point.
I love your videos. I am 72 and live alone in A small village in Wales in the UK. I can go weeks without talking to anyone I know for months. I have sold on EBay since 1999 but it has had big gaps. Although you are in the USA a lot of your advice helps me with my own. EBay. More than that though you seem such a nice person and it is almost like having a friend. Thank you and my very best wishes, Roger.
This is the best message I have got in a long time. Thank you.
Blessings from Tennessee ❤❤❤
Hello from Pinconning Michigan USA
Hey Roger, us resellers have virtual friends all over.
Nice to meet you!!!!
Keeo up the great information. I've been doing eBay for 3 weeks and its a slow start for me, but you help me keep my head up! Thanks man
So glad you think eBay is acting odd right now- several days w no sales for me!!!
Hi Kevin. Im doing this for a year and a half, and my model was to start from the humble beginning. So my learning curve was huge (thank you You Tube), like every newbie, I started with what was in my house, what was given to me from friends, and what I could afford at the local thrift and garage sales. Since I was so green I was conservative with my buys. Last year was a ramping up time. Natural course of rites of passage. This year I am doing much better, but I still don't invest that much - just a better picker! I like the methodical business approach, not the "I'm throwing money at this and hopefully it lands." the burnout from that makes resellers get quick disillusionment and then declare "you can't make money at this!" Every month gets better when you are improving yourself. THANKS
Thanks for this Kevin! I really enjoy your videos! I have always found May a slow month as the weather warms and people are happy to be outside, heading to the beaches, or picnics at the lake. I also think about Sept being back to school and people buying school items, but in the end it's like you said: if it's listed, it sells! Not everyone is at the beach, or has kids in school lol. Truly appreciate all your efforts here on YT!! Keep being AWESOME!!
Hi Kevin, your such an inspiration my friend. I'm from Aussie but your videos resonate with me.
Your a genuinely nice person, makes it a no brainer to tune into you.
If i got my ebay and youtube to be half as good as you, we'll sit down for a quiet ale one day. Thanks for being you mate 👍🍻
Your going to like this one Kevin. I was driving after work on the way home. I see a Uhaul truck getting loaded and a free pile at the end of the same driveway. I stop and get 4 clean nice hats and a nice Eastern mountain sports top for my self great shape but the big one was a University of Maine Black bears Nike Hockey jersey shirt size Large. I washed the jersey and listed it. A few days later it sold for $125.00 plus shipping!!!! Keep your eyes out for that one!
Free is great ❤
Hey Coach, Thanks for the info...being one of my original mentors, I am amazed at your continued success, your visions are amazing and achievable. Lonnie, Pete, and You are the reasons for my success!!! Thanks again!! Big Jim
thank you Jim
I was constantly making sales…but for the last five days…zero sales…
Same here
Mine have also slowed way down.
2 weeks 0 sales
Me too. What’s going on? I’m listing more than I ever have?
Stay consistent and focus on high sell through rate items!
🔹Thank you for sharing!🙏
I looked a couple of weeks ago at the last 2 yrs prior & off the top of my head, besides Dec March & July, August were my best months! Feb, June, Sept were slowest.
Your one of the main resellers I watch on here. I am currently on day 20 of no ebay sales. Mercari is doing ok-ish for me though luckily or I would have no sales. I'm glad you're doing good!!
More on Mercari than ebay is not a normal thing. Hope it changes for you soon.
June was my best month last year which makes sense since the college goes on break mid-may and then I get busy listing.
Great subject. All good points.
My best month over the last few years has been January! Just looking at last year numbers my worst months were May-July.
I was going steady and on course for a good March when everything came to a sudden stop. Not due to anything ebay did.
I tripped and fell. Dislocated my shoulder and broke upper arm into 3 pieces. Had complicated shoulder replacement surgery. Was in hospital for a few days and had to put store on time away.
I am re-learning how to package boxes with one hand. That's a real trick. Also won't be able to drive for a few days, so sourcing plans are postponed.
Did my first new listing today. Sometimes bad and painful things happen. I might somewhat salvage March sales, but think it might go down as my worst month this year.
My May & June were at the bottom too, but my July was my best month. November was my worst.
I always forget to use the discount code. One of these days I will remember to use it, lol.
I'm going to start taking notes when I watch your videos. I have an antique mall booth space in my relatively small town, but sales are not great so I am considering putting some items online. Not sure which platform will be best, but I will probably start with eBay since I am most familiar with it.
My March is horrible happy for you. I’m getting eBay charges from months ago double charges its getting ridiculous
Sales - 2023 Best year of my 8 years selling on ebay - December was the best month but November was close - March sales this year are banging! On the 21st of March I have already sold more than all of March 2023.
I’m part time at this but had 54 sales in Dec . Was a great month for me 48 in Nov . So happy with that
awesome. Congrats to you
Last year my best month was November followed closely by August and December. Worst month was January followed closely by May only being $100 better.
Wow! I didn't recognize you without that hat. You look great!
Hi Kevin. This month my eBay sales are doing well. My best in 2023 was March and my worst was July. I do not like how eBay calculates our figures. No business does that. Inflated to make us think we are doing great. Keep my own records. Stay well. Never miss a video.
Jan-April and October November are my best months. My year over year is great this year I’ve sold nearly triple the same time period last year. Most of that came down to listing more. I also have a bolo for you I sold an old smashing pumpkins cassette set for meloncollie and the infinite sadness I think it must have been a Walmart exclusive it’s in a long box. Long story short it sold for $85.
August is back to school month so any and all extra money has been on clothes and school supplies and all that good stuff so I would expect it to be at the bottom half if I'm not selling clothes or school supplies
My worst sales month last year was May and my best was October. Things have been super slow for me so far this year. Spats of good sales days, but by and large it has been disappointing for sure. Hoping things will pick up!
January was my best month last year then November, as far as bad months March & April was tied for my worse months.
My March this year is down on eBay, but I’ve had 3 good whatnot shows that makes it about the same.
I’ve been on fire since June last year. I’ve basically quit buying and listing anything under $20 profit except record albums which are my guilty pleasure.
In 2023 July was my best, and November was my worst. Q3 outperformed every other period. I listed more than ever for Q4 which made little impact on sales.
My Best month on the bay last year was December, and so far this year it was February, although don't have even anywhere close to the level of inventory as you and the major players here on YT. But I do pretty well locally on marketplace and local Facebook resale pages also. I'm super fortunate that there is a thriving FB marketplace culture here in the upsate of SC. I REAAALLLLY need to continue to regularly list on ebay though...sigh lol😬
My best months are always yard sale season may through September
My sales have slowed down. I will be posting a bunch over the weekend, but I'll be eclipse bound as of next week for 3 weeks. So, I'm not worried about sales.
2024 I've been listing more than ever and even with SAD scheme crap I had to go through, its the best start of a year so far
Sorry you had to go through that.
My absolute best month last year was May not December. I have been trying to figure out what I did different, but nothing stands out. December was my second best month. Year over year I am up 18% over last year. So things aren’t that bleak. I still believe that the economy is the biggest culprit in this. I am running regular sales which is what I believe is helping.
I've only been selling for a little over a year but I was very surprised to see January as a high selling month. Maybe people spending Christmas cash gifts?
My best month last year was June, 2nd best was November.
March was my best month by double. I must have sold some big items
My March started out fantastic and then completely died. I will never understand eBay. Maybe because I’m in Canada. lol. Enjoy the videos and continued information.
I feel like this has been my slowest month. I only started at the end of December beginning of January. Still, I haven't sold much this month. Maybe because I'm new and probably because I don't have a lot of high sale-thru rate stuff in my store. I do have a few, but even they are not selling too fast.
February last year was my worst month and August was my best
Good morning Kevin 🎉🎉🎉🎉
If I sell two things a day I'm happy lol
Out of how many listings?
What I noticed is when I list things they sell HAAAAAA. Some dont right away but sales always go up when your listing with realistic pricing.
Best month last year: July. Second Best: September. Best month of 2022: January. 2nd Best: February. This video just inspired me to put together a sales trend report and compare my numbers more thoroughly. Of all the quarters, my LY Q3 sales were the best... definitely surprising!
awesome vid as usual
Have been busy since tax season started but this last week has been slow. Time to do my taxes now with the break haha.
my sales have almost stopped, but I haven't listed anything since last November
Hi Kevin. I've been a watching your videos for some time now and have a quick question regarding those sheets you use to keep track of your buy/sell history (the ones you always refer to in your videos). Would it be possible to take a snapshot of one and post it somewhere? I'm looking for a quick and simple way to keep track of daily buys/sells. Your sheets look like a good way to do that. Thanks!
They really are not a good way. I only make those sheets for the purpose of videos. I will talk about it on a video in a week or so though.
The past 2 weeks our little baby store has been selling something at least once a day which doesn’t sound like much but to us it is a great feeling compared To one or two sales a week like it was in February.
Congrats
I'm doing well this month, but as of February 6th I'm no longer working a 'job' I'm 69 and get a small amount of social security and am trying to make it on eBay but if it doesn't pick up some gonna have to be doing door dash.
List more items and Promote at 2%!
The best month is every month if you have that dawgggg in ya! ☕️😈 but in all seriousness I definitely see a high up tick in sales come August through December as a clothing reseller! 💸🤑
Hey Kevin 😊😊
Hey Kevin, another question on your cabin, what is the size of the office area? Did you divide it half 10’ for office 10’ for storage? My shed is same size..and yours looks huge compared to mine!
Hoping to start working on it this spring..I’m a barber and it may end up being a barber shop for now..
yes. I divided it in half. I really is not big. The camera makes it look bigger.
Are you able to schedule items to list automatically at the times of the year when your away? I understand that shipping would be delayed, but as I am considering a part time start up in the UK, I like many others watch this type of content to gain some tips. Have been watching your channel for a couple of weeks along with many others to gather a shortlist of useful subscriptions. Thank you for the wisdom so far 👍
Thank you for watching. Yes I make drafts as well as take pictures with me on my phone while away in order to list.
Last year, dec, Nov, aug, sept july june oct may jan april march feb (march and feb were horrible!)
March this year isn't good but I should be okay over all and I know it's temporary. Feb this year was almost twice of last year and far better than what most people were saying about theirs. I made a few changes, and apparently they were good changes LOL.
Thanks!
wow. Thank you kindly.
Ebay is acting odd? Since when does it ever act "normal"? The joolies used to say "buy all Summer. Sell all Winter." For them it was true. Sales always cooled off in warmer months. When I sold, August was always a Dead Zone; July ran a close second for 18 years straight. Usually had one overseas buyer come in and buy multiple items at the end of the Summer, but that went away at the end. August is a sourcing Dead Zone here perpetually - no tag sales, no church sales, and no estate sales. The Hot zone for sales was November into February. When Sell season looked like Buy season two years running, with me not slowing down on listings, I knew it was time to get out. (they permanently screwed up the jewelry search and destroyed browsing. )
Hey Kevin have you ever been vero for selling titelist pro V1 golf balls I thank you John
The So Mn Fallis Finds
And do you still have the 8 track tape storage I sent you
Kevin, you seem to be ramping up your business in general. Maybe you're not working more hours, but you're getting serious about making money even if it involves selling items you don't necessarily love. I've been watching Resale Rabbit selling industrial/commercial items, and the money is there if you're just out to make a buck. I love it when John says he doesn't even know what it is, but somebody paid $450 for it!
The best time to sell is right now. Whenever that is! Just list it at a fair price and it will sell. Now. Tomorrow. Christmas.
Just curious how much do you discount on shipping when asked? Percentage?
I don’t discount on shipping. Unless it is a combined order and someone asks. If so I refund the excess shipping minus the fees and supplies
@@commonwealthflipper thanks for the reply. I’ve had some people ask for combined shipping and they expect a huge discount on shipping. I’ve usually told them 10-20%, but they don’t seam to like that answer. I don’t think most people do not realize how expensive it is to ship. They don’t take into account that you have expenses with supplies, time and gas to get the item to the post office, not to mention that eBay takes a percentage of your shipping $.
Are people wearing a $40. tee shirt or buying as a collector item?
both.
Thinly veiled brag! (happy for you)
lol. Thanks Brian.
How many of those Dick Tracey figures do you have? I won a set from you. Lost a second set. And there's another set on your shelf right now. Another multiple quantity listing sort of thing? 😆
Narfle the garthok! (just something i say for the algos)
March 2024 has been my worst sales month all time. I don't get it. I'm listing consistently and I have only 31 sales for a total of $496
I am very sorry. I hope it turns around for you soon
@@commonwealthflipper thank you Kevin. Me too
Third!!!!
When you said July and August were your best months, that's because you were listing, which triggers your visibility. Something, I thought you once dismissed.
? I don’t believe I have ever dismissed that. But either way listing more items by default increases visibility.
@@commonwealthflipper no, it was more like you said of course you’re gonna sell more if you list more, but it seemed you believed that because you’re gonna have more items for sale.
RUclips is acting weird lately, a commercial will start and after it sends you to another video, lame
Hmm that’s not good
The worst Ebay haircut of the year. Negative feedback deserved.
