    I bought my 996 C4S in March 2020 and last month I added a 996 Turbo X50 to the garage, love them both! Although they look similar and share the same chassis they drive very differently, I prefer the noise of the 3.6 NA engine and exhaust but love the speed of the Mezger Turbo engine. Both are Manual Coupe's

    Good video, I recently purchased a C4S tiptronic same colour combination, mine has blue belts which breaks up the interior. Same mileage with a huge history file, its had around £5k spent on it over the last two years, yes IMS and RMS have been changed and upgraded. £35 is very much top money for one of these. Its claimed the 996 is increasing in value around 7% pa, better than the banks are giving.

      Thanks Robin, useful info on 996. 7% is a nice figure.

    Great video on a super underrated Porsche. My 03 C4S Tip is the same Seal Grey (left hand drive) and I would take it over any other 911. Great car, super easy to work on. Only to my mechanic to do the Tip filter and fluid change. That's it. Any other work, I did myself. Oh, I don't have to remove the rear bumper the change the air filter(s) and at 100K+ runs like the champ it is!

    996's are great Cars, many reviews talk about the drive but few talk about differences in generations with respect to maintenance. For those out there that like to get dirty, I find the 996 a great car to work on, slightly easier than 997 and incomparable to 991,992's where is the engine?lol. Older air cooled have lots of other issues like oil leaks etc, 996 is in my opinion the sweet spot, except for the cooling system. Do 3000km oil changes and keep driving, no need to worry about IMS. great sounding one too! Great video, cheers from Toronto:) C2 Cab 996.2, flat 6 let it RIP!!!!!

    Nice content Ross! Lovely car (and a good tastes in watches - 226570?)
    I really like the 996 C4S shape (even more than the Turbo version to be honest). I was fortunate enough to own a 993 C4S and then a 993 Turbo, but sold them and moved on when I left the UK. Such a shame I got rid of them, as I could not afford them today, but then life is journey as they say.

    • @RossOnCars

      Thanks Simon 🙏 - the 993 C4S is a thing of beauty. I had the 993 targa - my first 911. Well observed on the watch - my favourite model, on my third now 🤦‍♂️

    Nice video, I have a 2002 Seal Grey manual C4S (no sunroof), so always looking about for videos of this car. Love watching it on the road. Have to say £35k is VERY top end, certainly more than what I paid just over 2 years ago for mine. Having said that no complaints from me if values are going up !

    • @RossOnCars

      Thanks 🙏 and nice choice. 996s are great value currently. I think the 4S will do well, following behind the turbo and GT models.

      I've been looking for one recently and I think they're starting to creep up in value. I keep seeing the auto tiptronics for around 26-30k and the manuals have a bit of a premium, especially low milage one (65k) like this that's had the IMS done etc is ok, maybe haggle a bit a bit off. - Pretty happy to go for the C4s 996 over a 1st gen 997, love the light bar a the back.

      @@mawtrader87 Happy shopping! I think the 996 is starting to look better with age too. It has lots of fans amongst motoring journos.

      @@mawtrader87 I've seen a few manuals with 75k miles going on Autotrader for £25k, not silly prices yet. I saw a gorgeous c4s 996 in black today at my local station, really is an elegant timeless design, I looked twice and I have one myself 😂. When people clock onto how stunning the C4S is over the regular 996 and better looking than the 997 as well, imo they will start edging closer to £30k+

    Paragon do the work on my 2003 996 and I can tell you the cars they sell are top quality like new so if 35 sounds expensive it's because you are getting the best of that range. Nice to see a car from Paragon on here.

    • @RossOnCars

    Cheers from Canada! Would love to see you review the 997.2 C2 as that's what I have.Would be interested in your thoughts compared to your 964. Unfortunately, they are few and far between here in Canada and are getting incredibly expensive if you can find one.

    • @RossOnCars
      @RossOnCars  2 года назад

      Hey Jeff, I owned the 997.2 C4S PDK for a while - beautiful car, more civilised and modern of course, bigger, less raw than the 964. All the 911 characteristics in a more sophisticated mechanical package.

    the engine of the 996 designed by Mercedes and manufactured by Porsche at the time when Porsche was in financial difficulty is a disaster in terms of reliability (IMS, cracked cylinder heads, scratched cylinder, etc.) It is greatly preferable (especially if we ride and keep it) to go with a 996 turbo with its Mezger engine (designed by Porsche) much more reliable.

    • @RossOnCars
      @RossOnCars  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the intel - more reason why 996 Turbo is a future collectible classic 911.
