You've absolutely summed up modern/retro classic car ownership - some of the most fun you can have whilst driving, but without having to remortgage the house if it goes wrong! It's exactly why I love my '89 Golf; it looks the part, sounds the part and has no driving aids at all, and if something goes wrong with it, it's easily a sub £200 fix!!
Such a beautiful Porsche Tom. Not that the new ones are bad in any way, there are just so many, so choosing a sleek looking 996 or 997 are awesome in my eyes. Super nice car!
Your v3’s may need a slight tweak on the compression and rebound settings. They shouldn’t be bouncy at all and shouldn’t crash over bumps. Once dialed in perfectly they ride bumpy roads far better than any standard suspension I’ve ever experienced
Wicked video. Paint looks mint and exhaust sounds just right. Many miles of enjoyable driving await. You’re one of the reasons i now have a manual 996 C4S !
this is the perfect car for a track car. it's powerful and fun enough to have a good time. but it's cheap enough that if something does happen it isnt the end of the world.
It's too bad your front plate keeps falling off, but it does look mint without it😁. That factory infotainment system is a great update to the inside too.
A great vid. Love the 996 Le Mans racing style the designer was a genius the best of the old and new in one and he was way ahead of many. An everyday all weather fighter. Just bought a manual, non sunroof 996.2 C2 for less than £12k and love the thing. Plenty quick enough to be fun and certainly not depreciating. Just want to save for KW's etc and put my own stamp on it.
Watch and see this chap has done well 5 years or so they will more than likely be double or close to £40k great for the 996 that always got the raw deal but not anymore..
perfect .. I had my suspension set up like that (b16 damptronic) little bit crashy and I scraped mine (always conscious) of scrapping , so I rose it by 5mm - 10mm still in the arches still looks good . Youll find the shock will be a little more compliant .. Trust me dude...
If you thinking of Apply Avalon King(I have or any other Ceramic) STOP - review how to prep a car first (take a look at KDS Detailing videos). Better the prep, the better the results.
Just the perfect fun sports car. The fun per pound is unbelievable in the 996. One more mod you should do, If you´d like the steeringwheel closer, there are a wheel spacer on ebay that make the driving position just perfect in the 996. I got one in my 996 turbo. Cheers!
Been tempted for one of these in the not so distant future and being 25 it's not that much to insure. Although most people are telling me I'll be spending fortunes just keeping it maintained which I'm not too sure that's true.

Great looking car. Surely installation of the new Porsche Classic unit is a job for an Official Porsche Classic service centre? In the video it looks like top left of the unit is not fitted flush. A lovely finishing touch would be to refresh the surrounding grey trim which of course is a little tired owing to the age of the car. Thanks to TGE TV for bringing an engaging 996 project to the channel.

The Porsche is looking superb mate. Nice touches especially with that new infotainment system. I'm sure if you really wanted, you could upgrade the speakers, but what would be the point, when you have that exhaust note wafting through the cab. And when you put your foot down, you can drown out James and Archie so it's all good.😜👌👍

All the twisty footage I have to skip. I don’t need to do that on your videos so well done you .So congratulations on some epic filming and what a car!

Selfishly, because i tend to catch most of my podcasts on the youtube uploads regardless of availability elsewhere..
You really should get a new surround for the stereo, the car loons mint but the surround doesnt quite match up. If you have the old sat nav system there is a modem you can get that swaps the phone for a bluetooth module. Then you can even use the old corded handset to make calls!
The smile on your face chap,..mega. I get the same from mine...love it. you've convinced me to do the suspension on mine now. That new entertainment system look ace, bit lumpy on the cost...do you know if it connects to the CD changer in the front...I know,.WHY? I hear you ask, COS I LIKE CDs...LOL...great Vid.. I have had 2 splitters and 3 front end resprays on mine. The Nürburgring will do that to a C4S,..but the smiles,....fantastic,...
i got impatient with the PCCM to get here in the US I installed a Kenwood unit with carplay/android auto on my 996Turbo now i want to replace it lol!! awesome car man!! great mods!

Refinishing of trim is on the list, replacing speakers - and now steering wheel spacer, & short shift!

I have a TT 3.2 mk1. Similar in its age, mileage and condition to the 996. I love it. Cars from earlier 2000s are sick
