The language Grant uses is a big part of what helps. He has obviously been around some great teachers of the game, not only is he very positive and re-enforcing the little wins, but things that golfers can hear to create the result he's aiming for - hitting the inside of the golf ball, explaining why a draw with irons is more useful than a fade. All great stuff
It never ceases to amaze me how players of such a wide range of proficiency in the game can improve with just a tweak here & there. A new level of respect for Grant gained from this subscriber. With a small tweak, you managed to make a great player even better. Stay with it Peter.
That was a great video! Love that Pete took the advice and ran with it, love that Grant has no problem ruffling feathers to have Pete try things that are uncomfortable for him! All in all, that was awesome to watch!

More of this. This was very interesting. The aim alignment thing was exceptionally cool to see feel vs reality. I also like how it only took a few swings for Pete to change and still hit it so pure. I was having issues chipping the ball last year, could not figure it out. Normally really good. One guy watching me says "You're dipping". Instant light bulb moment. Some times it just takes a nice trained eye to fix small things.
That was awesome Pete, great to see you on the other end of a lesson, and adapting to the info relayed. Always learning in this wonderful game. Ps, Grant knows what to look for. Dad has taught you well. Thank your Dad, for being, your Dad.
This is very opportunistic for me: I have been struggling with exactly what Grant was describing in your swing, and it lit up some light bulbs in my mind. As stated by others: love that you and Grant both are sharing how you have helped each other out.
Wow… as a dad who spends money on kids lessons and not my own anymore. I have been fighting toe strikes for a little while. I do play a fade and get steep, a lot like Pete (just left handed). I practice this uncomfortable into out swing just to keep that movement when needed.. I have never considered my fade causing my toe strikes because of path like that. Honestly thank you both - off to the range.
Best video I’ve seen for a while! New guy teaching the older guy (who he watched growing up!) and sorts his swing? Really respect all you guys. This video was your masterpiece 💪🏻
Thank you for this video, aiming and body alignment is always left aside by many people. They always try to fix their swing when that is not the issue.
Fun stuff as usual. I always like really technical stuff about golf, even though I'm just getting to a place where I can call myself a lowish handicapper I love learning about swing mechanics.
Hi Grant. I hope you read this. I'm 68 and watch all your videos. The nicest thing besides your exceptional golf is your personality. From what I see is such a cheerful , caring man. Suffer from the same slight pull left with the small fade back as you Peter so this video has been great for me. Gonna hit the range and get it cured before the new season next year. Great video thanks
Pete I absolutely love the content you and Grant create together. I truly hope to see more matches, Scrambles, stroke play, lessons, etc... with you two.
Really cool video, really like how this focus around fundamentals and “FEEL”. Getting it clear in your mind allows your natural instincts to drive swing motion. We don’t all have the same range of movement so why do we all try to swing the club the same 🤷🏻♂️
Peter has a classic technical swing. I was having a problem hitting draws and 7 yard hooks. A friend looked at me hit 3 balls, adjusted me from closed shoulders and immediately went back to straight balls. Personally I don’t like to work approach shots with fades and draws. I would rather ge the distance right and aim straight. But I rarely attack pins except when playing scrambles.
This. Is. AWESOME! Grant you made a little comment about him not having to shove his hand path out to the right to create the in to put draw path. Well....I realized I do this myself and am trying to fix it. Explains my heel strikes that I have trouble with from time to time
For notorius faders of the ball with pull tendencies in order trap it from inside for draw you have to shift your body more towards target in downswing before you start to rotate. And adapt to a slightly stronger grip or bow your wrist more. Sight of line can be deceiving. That's because for most people, if they turn their head towards target, their eyeline is not parallel to target anymore but left of it (righthanders). Make the experiment: ask a random group of players where they think they aim at, in 95% it's much more to the left than actual orientation is. Solution: turn your head differently or just trust your aim from behind the ball and don't look at the target anymore once over the ball.
Great video, guys. I’ve been watching this recent set and believed those bladed irons were just too difficult to strike consistently, Pete, but it now seems it was a basic alignment issue. Interesting. So cool how you were able to take instruction and implement the change in such a short period of time. The difference between a PGA Pro and the great unwashed I guess.
I watched a video of Adam Scott during a practice session. The guy shooting it asked Adam what he works on with his coach. He said they primarily worked on alignment, standing the same distance from the ball every time, and tempo. Crazy.
Pete is such a skilled golfer but he got locked in that left to right trajectory so much it needed draw biased Grant to put him back at the right track again. And as a golf coach I love Grants take at Pete's problem. Very well done.
Been struggling myself with the exact same issue, got a lesson in 2 weeks so will do my best to hopefully address it as well as you did, think it’ll take me longer than 15 minutes🤣
Pete, you're such an amazing golfer. Your striking is impressive. When you watch the video, I hope you notice the blue alignment lines they imposed on the screen. That alignment aid on the ground was actually aimed a tiny bit left of the flag. I really like the new swing. Mis-hits won't be as penalizing. My instructor many years ago said something that never left me. After getting my slight draw, just like you just did, he said "do that 1,000 times and it's yours". Too bad I only did it 999 times because I blade the ball so much now it's not fun. That is probably the main reason your striking is so impressive... Pete, just do it 1,000 times. It will be muscle memory and automatic under pressure.

Genuine question, wouldnt a fade be able to hold more greens than a draw due to the backspin? Unless the pin placement dictates a draw shouldnt you hit a fade on approach shots?
As a 14 handicap player I would love to spend a few hours with Grant working on my swing. People who I play golf with say I have swung the same way since I was a kid, which I find funny because I've tried a lot of different things over the years and always end up with what feels natural to me.
I know that sometimes the camera angle creates differing angles but from the video it looks like your shoulder alignment is still open, I’d try to straighten this off not so much by closing the shoulders but by softening the right elbow slightly which will shallow the swing out and give a better connection through the swing.. but hey whatever works for you is what matters.. wouldn’t worry to much as timing wise you’ll fall back into…
I love the draw, and lament that today's professionals have largely abandoned it, especially off the tee. You can still fade the ball with that draw swing and hitting the inside of the ball with proper alignment and clubface direction. I would have loved to see this being demonstrated.
I think he calls them Jumbo grips. He has quite large hands and he said in one of his videos it dampens the impact, as he feels he doesn't have to grip as hard (or something along those lines).
Good lesson. Takes a lot of talent (and previous hard work) to make these adjustments and hit it so purely. Won’t you and a lot of tour players want to hit irons with a slight fade when faced with rock hard tournament greens? I think Grant’s point is a good one (this body rotation draw is a very consistent flight and distance) but it’s going to run a bit on hard greens
Peter might be worthwhile checking on how much rotation you have in your neck if restricted to left it might cause your body to align further right to compensate
Pete, did you consider to go for a lesson to GRF golf? It is a different way of teaching golf. Maybe you are aware of their RUclips channel, maybe not. I myself very much like this kind of approach to golf teaching. I know that you are professional, you are talented etc. and you can make your game work pretty much all the time, but I would certainly like to see video with Marcus Bell and would love your take on his way of teaching.
I’m actually a fan of aiming right at the pin with the feet. A parallel line to it would be the distance between your feet and the ball, which is what? 2-3 ft. I think most golfers would be okay hitting it just a few ft right of the pin. I think folks get in trouble because what they see as parallel oftentimes ends up being considerably left of target.
Is it bad that I like to play a fade with my driver and woods and a draw with my irons? Always seemed the most natural to me. But worry about having two different faces and swing paths during a round.
I love how you two park your ego's at the door and genuinely want to help each other out.
