      Definitely just a clickbait title. Everything you said was perfect. Like you said he just needs to feel like he’s rolling that wrist over at impact. Going to be a weird feel at first but once you flush a few he will see what you’re saying. Anytime you change the swing it takes time.

    Josh has/had a lot of the same swing issues I’ve had with my driver. I tried everything to get the face closed through impact. What helped me was actually slightly weakening my left hand on the grip, and focus on staying balanced on the inside of my back foot. This way, as you swing you have a better feeling of transferring the weight through the swing with your release.

    I've played golf for a while but I've only recently in the last year really learned how to hit a draw. It's so foreign to a fade/slice I had been hitting I have implemented some of the stuff Grant has showed in the past to get me closer to a straight ball with tiny fade with considerable more distance cause it's not spinning at 9k rpm. So thank you Grant and my boy Ronnie I play with on the weekends. Props to Josh for picking it up this quickly for real.

    I feel like right at 5:20 can be a huge eureka moment for so many golfers, you need to find and practice that niche feeling of turning your left hand down and compressing the ball more. This feeling in the wrist solved everything for me, now I struggle with a hook!

    I see that when you grip the club your fingers are touching your palm. Some instructors don’t realize that longer fingers have trouble keeping a stable grip on even standard jumbo grips. I had to move to JumboMax XL grips to gain control and not have the club spin in my hands. When I invest in a final’ish set of clubs I’ll get them fitted and the new ultra light grips. I got the Tour Max.

    • @jayfron6012

      Had to do the same but with midsized. Tried to play standard mcc+4 and fit my right hand well, but I had to almost squeeze with my left to have a decent grip. Just switched out to regular multicompound grips in midsized and the improvement is dramatic

  • @g4yrut
    @g4yrut Год назад +1

    It’s also important to note that wrist angles and forearm rotation at impact, is very dependant on your grip. For example, my grip is quite strong, which means at impact with a square face, my wrist angle is quite flat, with almost no flexion, and my forearm has very little supination. Simply put, rather than my wrist being bowed and turned towards the ground, its fairly flat and pointed more towards the target.

    • @jayfron6012
      @jayfron6012 Год назад

      I had to weaken my left hand a little to get the right release through impact. Once I figured it out, the driver has become my best club in the bag(along with a fitted shaft).
      Everyone’s anatomy is so different that little tweaks like so can have big results. If only I could have a similar breakthrough with my woods

    what happened your knee? I had knee surgery to remove a ganglion cyst in between my ACL/PCL, ever since if I play too much golf my knee swells up and gets painful, maybe I've some residual tendonitis in there, I even tried swapping to left handed golf, which was going well until a couple weeks ago, started getting the left knee pain again :(

    All seriousness- it isn’t going to be easy. But he’s 10000% right on the grip. I had the same problem (identical glove mark lol) for 20 years. Was a solid player but never got great, and the grip was the reason. Changing it was incredibly difficult lol

    The more you slide and rotate, which both is good (slide first, don't leave upper body behind), the more important a stronger grip becomes. If you understand the sequence, it's actually pretty easy. Not that you're a pro from that on, but it's much easier. work on different issues from then on, like strenght, dialing in 3/4 swings. And then, of course, short game and putting.
    And to all that try to drag the handle through impact in order to achieve shaft-lean: wrong picture. Get your body ahead and you will be able to go full release without that idea.

  • @robbb1371

    I don't think Grant gave you any bad advice. Overall great positions in the golf swing. Your left wrist is a little cupped at the top of the swing with driver, this causes a more open face. Also, Grant had you drop your right foot back, but the shoulders and hips still looked open to me. Maybe the camera angle though. I'd say work on set up, face control through impact. Seems like path isn't a real issue. You get those two thing right and you will either hit a draw or baby fade depending on path. Good Luck.

    These are super basic/fundamentals of the golf swing. I was taught the exact same thing at the David Ledbetter academy (spelled his last name wrong), but was very well known around the country and played my best golf afterwards. The bowed wrist feel is not always a sustainable swing thought over time. Get more videos of your swing from the side abgle to see your turn and the timing to hone in on why club is open at impact.

    honestly speaking, don't think your slice can be cured that easily. you have long way after this finding your dricer swing. what Grant told you is hand manipulation, that you can easily do wrong and cause more problems on the course. set up is the key. find your setup.
