Love your work, honestly is the best explanation of alignment. The nuanced idea is remy isn't evil in intention but in biological factors and actions. You explain the intention while mat explains the other factors.

Everyone, please understand that this isn’t really a MatPat takedown video. The Thumbnail was just hyperbolic clickbait designed to imitate the Theorist channel thumbnails. This video is mostly a standard DnD alignment video that sprinkles in references to MatPat’s video. Watch it till the end, and you’ll understand.

he uses the strict Alignment, once you gank that NPC you become Evil. You seem to use a more lenient version, it will take a lot of gankin' to turn the Alignment.
I find that the latter is more reasonable as if you slap someone once that doesn't make you a jerk if it was just one time and the first would only really fly with me if it went both ways.
I really enjoy how much respect you have for Matt Pat while making a very fun “callout video” for the lols. It’s awesome to see that regardless of the difference in opinion, you are able to be genuinely nice and clearly joking when poking fun at him. It’s refreshing because it’s a funny (technically) negative video without being too mad or sarcastic while simultaneously avoiding being too simple and average. A lot of people are saying “oh here it comes” without understanding the intention of the video, and I just wanted to say that I really enjoy the content and support the different direction you took in this video’s feel.
The palidain: Lawful Good....As long as you ignore the fact that he was complacint with holding too people against their will.

There is also another problem that some people have with this video and it is ....*drum roll*....Healthy Criticism.
People need to learn the difference between UNINFORMED ATTACKING and a CONSTRUCTIVE BREAK-DOWN in the form of Healthy Criticism, also it was total satire and the ending made it clear as day.
All this was was a slightly different approach to the breaking down and analysis of the characters and their actions. And the best part is that both are right and wrong given thoughtful reasons.
Those of you who are taking both these videos as writs of GOD need to take a step back and re-analyze somethings.
I would say Skinner's biggest fault is that he's incompetent he was likely fine as a sous-chef but as a head chef he was more interested in money than a passion for food he was even going to turn his "good" friend Gusteau into a brand icon for microwaved food which any professional chef would tell you is a insult.
Because of the timing of this video, can we just appreciate the fact that the 10 hour Game Theorist St. Jude livestream from yesterday ended with 3 MILLION DOLLARS being donated to children's hospital against cancer? Like, that's just truly incredible.

at the end of the movie the rats all have a home eating high quality food made or supplied by remys restraunt. i'd say LG

About capturing the health inspector. Remy only told the rats to "stop him", he technically didn't directly tell them to tie him up the way it was done, therefore I'd argue chaotic neutral.

I hate that argument so much. A theory should still be based on ACTUAL evidence. Not misconstrued, made up, or just wrong information. And even then that is not a shield from criticism.
Not to mention while he has occasional good points most of his stuff tends to come off as half baked. Like the recent AC Valhalla episode or the pokemon extinction episode.
It’d probably be pretty simple for these alignment videos but I recently was thinking about a movie I used to watch a lot as a kid. Maybe an alignment video on Charlie from All Dogs Go to Heaven? Granted it’d probably be a standard shift from chaotic neutral to chaotic good.

Matpatt is sometimes really sloppy with some theories like : for honor theory of samurai vs knigth vs Viking , hollow knigth , those are the examples I have anyone any to add to the list ?

Just remember that not all the theories are 100% his work, particularly the ones related to franchises he doesn't know a lot about. He has a lot of writers, he needs to with 3 channels with more than weekly uploads + all the other things he does, including the 10 hour livestream that donated 3 MILLION dollars to a children's hospital against cancer yesterday.

This is something that took me YEARS to realize after the first few times of watching this movie: Remy is not hallucinating Gusteau. That's actually Gusteau's spirit. The point where this is proven is near the end when Remy wonders out loud why he pretends his imaginary Gusteau is real, Gusteau tells him, "you never did." Meaning Remy never thought up an imaginary Gusteau to follow him around. Which explains the "Tulpa nonsense."

If I had a nickel for every time I saw a smaller channel disprove a matpat theory I'd have 2 nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happed twice. One is this, and the other is the infamous hollow knight theory

This is not what the "Measurable" part of the goal means. This would be a better fit for why the task is "Relevant", as it is to determine whether or not Linguini is fit to be a cook.
The "Measurability" of the task has to do with what metric you use to measure the progress of the goal.
A more fitting "Measurable" would be "Chef Skinner performs a taste test to determine whether the soup has been successfully recreated."

I do think your right about Remy's alignment not being evil but people with good alignment can still unknowingly be the bad guy and I think matpat kinda brings that to light. I do not think that Remy is "bad" and I dont think the chef is "good" but I do think remy is a rodent in a public kitchen and the chef is doing his job as is that totally innocent health inspector.
Even though I was skeptical when I watched matpats video. I appreciated the points he tried to make and it showed me things I missed when I first watched the movie 13ish years ago.

It's a good video, but I really wanted your comment on Remi leaving his family without a poison detector after finding them again, probably killing some of his clan.
Well you can't really force someone into a job they don't want to do, morality aside. Additionally, the clan had been doing relatively fine before Remy was put on poison detection (Like holy shit that's a lot of rats in one house) and likely just proceeded to be more cautious about where they got their food from. Then Remy started feeding them safe food anyway, first stealing from Gusteau's but later serving them food at his little bistro thing at the end. I think that Remy's decision was the right one, not just for him but for everyone he cared about.
You did a fantastic job with this one, I know you where making some small jabs along with pointing out where MatPat was right. But you do look at some some scenes that connect to each other for context while MatPat didn't.
You forgot the animated short "Your Friend the Rat." The ending might change your analysis.
I mean, I liked this video more than Matpat's video disparaging one of my favorite movies. lol
And he should of looked up there are THUNDER clouds in the sky and lightning always strikes the highest point. Remy being an animal that lives outside sometimes should know the dangers and have extreme caution.

Words cannot describe how endlessly thankful and happy I am you were willing to say that a theory video that is wrong and you disagree with isn't meritless and doesn't deserve hate. That it *brings up good points that are worth or fun to ponder and explore* even if parts of it are wrong. That is genuinely the most saintly way of breaking down his videos I've ever heard. That someone agrees that *your allowed to be wrong but being wrong doesn't make what you said neccesarily worthless or needing to be thrown out*. Seriously man, thank you for saying that, as a fan of Mats that feel like people are WAY to harsh on him I greatly greatly GREATLY appreciate it both as a fan of his but also just as a fellow human being.

@@TheLoadingCrew I've been around since his "final thoughts" days myself. And believe it or not it's apparently him *being wrong about things* AND *making certain jokes*. To my understanding that's literally it, oh and some people are still on his case about the whole "calling the indie game that sounded like Undertale somewhat Undertale", I've heard people pissed about him giving the pope Undertale which makes me wonder if they've even watched his video about that, and I think I've heard some people on his case about a art mix-up somewhere unless I'm imagining that last one.
Which honestly floors me considering several of those things have been gotten over and forgotten, the joke thing is stupid, and he's hardly the first person to make *wrong theories* before. There are a couple of thing about Skinner that you barely mentioned that does show that he’s more selfish like the fact that he was willing to sellout Gustaus’ image for crappy frozen foods and was willing to drag whatever respect the restaurant has in order to make more money. You could argue that Skinner is trying to keep Gustaus’ legacy alive but it’s obvious he’s doing it for profit more than to keep his friend’s legacy alive

I dont think he meant Remy was actualy officially the antagonist he meant he's worse than the presented antagonist skinner. Obviously they present Remy as the protagonist.

Now I'm curious what Gordon Ramsay's alignment would be, I'm not as experienced but I'm sure he's in the Lawful category as a massively successful business owner.
on the topic of Gordon Ramsay, people have made fun of him about how he chews out everyone, but he's still kind to kids. Gordon replied that he does that because adults already have their walls and ideals built up, and you need to find a way to break down those walls first, before you can rebuild. as for kids, kids are still learning. they need a lot of care, and yelling at a kid does not teach them how to learn what they are doing, but instead how to be afraid. honestly, i believe the dude is absolutely correct on this front, which really shows that he cares about the people he's helping. it just shows how complicated people are. i feel a bit weird putting a real person on the Alignment Wheel, but i feel that's he's Neutral Good, leaning at Lawful Good.

His father mentions that, and that finding another poison smeller wasnt easy.

Well, not every theory that Matpat makes should be taken seriously. They are just theories, even when some of them are too believable to deny.
I would argue they’re all evil, Remi kidnapped 2 people and Linguini didn’t donate a rat that clearly understood English to science (also he was ok with the kidnapping of 2 people)
Like some actions are worse than others, kidnapping humans is worse than kidnapping a rat

Doesn't the chefs clean the kitchen? Skinner being the owner of some sorts does not have to do this, But the people who are the ones who should have cleaned it which are the chefs I'd consider a dick move.

(Before watching the video) As someone who doesn't really like Ratatouille, I'm pretty biased in MatPat's favor, but I'm willing to listen to the other side, so I'll watch this with an open mind. But don't expect me to change my mind about the film. It likely won't happen.

Though why Remy can see him is never explained
You should check the dnd alignment of Yu Narukami from both the persona 4 and persona 4 golden anime. Trust me there are A LOT of nat 20 scenes
The only real sad thing about the Ratatouille movie is that rats on average live only about three years to four years at most and even then that depends on if they are domesticated to be house pets or if they are in the wild. Rats are fully mature around six months, but in human years that would make him around 15 years old. So that would mean he would be roughly only a year old at youngest. So in reality that restaurant he has at the end of the film will only last for 1.5 maybe 2 years with him as the head Chef.

the name of Remy's dad is actually a reference to Django Reinhardt, who was a famous Romani jazz artist from France. It could explain why Django/Remy's Dad likes music, at least partly.

Not only Does remy count as evil by stealing a cook book the lady owns in the film but also hes responsible of property damage not damage to the book in anyway but damage to the house itself the ceiling got broke after all the rats fell down and he shattered the window and in the film remy didnt even take the cook book with him when he went onto the pipes and through paris he just left it sit in the sewer for another animal like a raccoon or another rat to have So there you go theres more crimes remy has commited
