I love that you included the zones. I have never seen the Betty Flower Rose or a mountain Laurel in pink. What a gift!

My crepe myrtle spreads along the ground and I've often have to control it spreading, just love it. From New Zealand.

Hi, it's wonderful to hear that you're enjoying your Crepe Myrtle, even if it does require a bit of extra attention! Crepe Myrtles are indeed known for their beauty and sometimes vigorous growth. Regular pruning can help control their spread and even promote more vigorous blooming. Also, remember that any suckers - new shoots emerging from the base of the tree - should be removed to maintain the tree's shape and prevent unwanted spreading. Thank you for watching and for your comment! Happy gardening from the other side of the world! 🌳🌸🇳🇿

Very informative video, can you please add these names of plants as they are known in the Indian region. One finds it easier to buy that way.

Would be better if the root system is mentioned. Want to know plants that doesn’t hurt the foundation when plant 1-2ft in front entrance

Absolutely, considering the root system of a plant is crucial, especially when planting near foundations, sidewalks, or other structures. Some plants have aggressive root systems that can potentially cause problems. Here are some plants with relatively non-aggressive root systems that can be planted near your home:
      1. Boxwood (Buxus spp.): These shrubs have a compact root system and are often used in foundation plantings.
      2. Japanese Maple (Acer palmatum): Japanese maples have a non-invasive root system that makes them good near foundations.
      3. Star Jasmine (Trachelospermum jasminoides): Star jasmine is a climbing plant that is often used as a ground cover. It has a non-invasive root system.
      4. Spirea (Spiraea spp.): Spirea is a small to medium-sized landscape plant with a non-invasive root system.
      5. Hydrangeas (Hydrangea spp.): Most hydrangeas have a non-invasive root system, but they do require a lot of water so keep that in mind when planting near foundations.
Remember to always check with a local extension service or nursery for advice specific to your area and situation. Also, even with plants with non-invasive roots, it's still important to plant them a safe distance away from the foundation to allow for future growth.

What is the distance you would recommend for planting a flowering dogwood near a foundation? I would like to plant one 6-10 feet from my house and prune it to keep it as a small tree. Thank you!
